Due to some internal dramatics here at the blog, we’ve decided to archive this blog and call it quits here. 

The social justice scene has become incredibly toxic, as I’m sure most of you are aware, and while you’ll see a few different sides to the situation that took place, it’s unprofessional to air that dirty laundry here (although it was done briefly last night against better judgment). We have had some very immature acts take place here at Greek Gods, and for that I am apologizing - from February 2014 to this March 2015, we’ve had a lot of stuff happen here - a lot of arguments, a lot of stress, a lot of name calling and trash-talking. I’m sorry for that, on behalf of everyone who was ever involved, myself included. 

Like I said, I’ve got some solid resources here on GG, including charities, source information, master posts, and the like. I would have just deleted this blog but I want those resources to remain available to anyone who would like to see them or use them. I know I, from time to time, pull information from posts we’ve made, and I would like others to be able to do that. 

Until next time, though, you can follow our personal blogs and you can move through the posts as you wish. I’ll be doing my own thing for a while, what with moving and getting married, and I know the others who were involved in the past are also experiencing personal things, which is ultimately why I decided to call it quits here. If the blog ever gets back up and running, you’ll all be the first to know, but thank you to my former moderators, from the very beginning, and thank you to the 3,000+ followers we’ve gained over the past year for sticking with us and loving us.

The #RaceTogether is only in US Starbucks I believe. As I live in Canada I will not have to be forced into this kind of discussion.I'm barely in a Starbucks for more than 5 minutes. Not a good enough length of time for any kind of thorough discussion short of "are you having a good week?" and "Big plans this weekend?"

That’s good to know for reference purposes.  As cynical as this sounds, this is probably going to bite Starbucks in the rear for many reasons:

Rude/non-morning person goes off on an employee either in anger or words that fly into the danger zone.  Employee most likely will get penalized.

Overly PC customers complaining about things they may overhear at the counter.

Jackasses using the “#RaceTogether” tag to metaphorically shit on the whole campaign/make certain locations look bad.  Because we all know that whenever a company tries to start a hash tag campaign there’s gonna be people being smartasses/jackasses/just plain awful

Possible loss of business from people who don’t want any type of discussion other than placing their order and thanking the employee (whether they’re not talkative or they have something mentally that makes off the cuff discussions difficult).

Managers or Corporate enforcing a quota of discussions per day, which could bite employees on the ass

Employees being put in uncomfortable positions (Like they enjoy the register but don’t want to cause trouble/conflict)

I’m sure their intentions behind this were good at their core, but this will probably backfire.

I’m not much of a coffee drinker, but it would be interesting to find out if, in the locations that are doing this, if there’s going to be some quota of discussions to meet per week.  Or if a person on register doesn’t want/feel comfortable doing this can they work a different station (that they’re trained for) without penalty or are they boned.

I'm all giddy and had to let someone know the good news that I finally have a date with a cute boy. Moved to a big city a year ago, been so very depressed about knowing so few people, making new friends, all that stuff (I'm very VERY introverted so I don't go out much) but I have a date with a cute boy and that makes me so very happy right now.

If I hear of women trying to make "Womens only hours" at a gym cause "some women feel uncomfortable around men" I'm just going to petition for whites only hours cause some white people don't feel comfortable around people of colour

More than 240,000 cases are being recalled after a few customers made troubling discoveries

“Kraft Foods is recalling 242,000 cases of original flavor Kraft Macaroni & Cheese because some of the boxes contain small pieces of metal.

The boxes have “best when used by” dates ranging from Sept. 18, 2015 through Oct. 11, 2015 and are marked with the code “C2.” They were sold throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico, and in some countries in the Caribbean and South America.

A complete list of affected products is posted on Kraft’s website.

The recall covers 7.25 ounce boxes that were sold individually and in packs of three, four and five. The company says no other varieties, pasta shapes or package sizes are affected by the recall.“

No.  Harley has shot Joker, she has left him to be captured, she has stabbed him, hit him, punched him. She dished back exactly what he gives her. It’s almost like an extreme type of BDSM with those two. Harley isn’t some little victim for people to start coddling - at least she wasn’t BEFORE SCOTT SNYDER BECAME THE RUNNER OF DC AND MADE THE STUPID NEW 52 ERA WHERE JOKER FORCED HER TO CHANGE AND THREW HER INTO A VAT OF CHEMICALS BECAUSE HE’S A —— anyway, Before New 52 - Harley spent every morning putting on that white face paint, doing her make-up just for him. She left her job, she ran away like a comedic Bonnie and Clyde. She has left him before. She and Ivy spent a good amount of months together without any indication of Harley being in contact with Mistah J.  She isn’t trapped, she’s an abuse victim - yes - BUT They are both abusive.  Take this from a die hard Joker lover. Someone who would faint if they met Mark Hamill - the voice of The Joker from the Animated Series where Harley Quinn was created.  She is not abused. They are both abusers.  Anyone want to fight me about this, go ahead. I have a good amount of Batman Adventure comics, Joker-centric comics from pre-52, and a DVD boxset of Animated Series. And I’m sure I can find clips of Paul Dini and Bruce Timm (Harley’s creators) talking about how she isn’t a victim.  I’m very much a Joker fangirl. For the last several months, the epidemic of black men being unlawfully detained at often times fatally shot by police officers has been a constant headline in the news. It has also been a source of epic grief and growing racial tension.

But one teenage girl in Palmdale, California, decided to use this hot button issue as inspiration to ask her boyfriend out to prom. This week, a young woman, who goes by the name “Salty Stephanie” on Twitter, arranged to have her black boyfriend arrested by a real police officer as a way of asking him to their prom. Then she posted pictures of her prank (along with a heart emoji and the laughing hysterically emoji) to illustrate how funny — and romantic — it is to have an unarmed black man arrested for no reason. To make matters worse, she made sure to do it during school hours so all his friends and teachers could see him in handcuffs.

Whiteness is so terrifying. Either this girl is completely oblivious to the pressing realities of being black or she doesn’t really care about the wellbeing of her boyfriend.

Have you heard of a rape/abuse recovery center for men that got closed down by violent women protesters? I'm pretty sure I saw it in a post once and looked it up and it was legit, but recently I've tried googling it and I haven't been able to find any mention of it.

I’m aware of one in the UK, but I’m afraid I don’t remember the name.
