please make sure that wherever you’re at in life, you don’t treat it like a transitory period. don’t waste your college years wishing to already be graduated & have a job. don’t waste your single years wishing for someone to be in love with. if/when those things come, they will come in due time and they will be good. but there is nothing like looking back and feeling empty because you wasted literal years ignoring what you had because you were hoping for something better. while it’s important to better yourself and reach for your goals, don’t neglect the present because that’s where you are now and it’s your now that determines your future.

You Want My Love | Earth, Wind & Fire x Lucky Daye

I love seeing the older generation not only embrace the younger acts, but take the extra step and actually work with them. So this collaboration is a little interesting because it heavily samples Earth, Wind & Fire’s song, “Can’t Hide Love,” and basically adds Lucky’s vocals on it. The production is a little different, giving it a little more modern feel and slightly more up tempo sound, with the legendary Babyface co-producing. Lucky handles most of the work on the song and his style of singing fits perfectly for the groove that you can expect when you see EWF’s name on a song. Since participating in the #Verzuz battle a few months ago with The Isley Brothers, I feel like I’ve seen more of a presence from them, though they’ve also been on the tour circuit, but I’m not sure if this single means a new project is coming soon. It may not be a bad idea to get a bunch of some of their older songs and have them reimagined with some of the dope, newer R&B talents to see what some of these collabs may sound like.
