Day 4 of @hermitadaymay with an alt hermit, aka Mayor Scar! For this I decided to challenge myself drawing Scar with my left hand! He’s a bit wonky but I’m proud of myself lol.

Oh hell yeah! Listen, my friend has heard me going through the trials and tribulations that is mimicking art styles, so hearing I got pretty close to Perry's style is amazing!

It's some fun and bouncy art to research and pay homage to, so I'm glad the tribute was great :D

12. Easiest part of body to draw

The head! Sometimes it’s a struggle to get the angle right without references but I have an easier time drawing the head than other body parts. I would also throw in the torso as well but it gets tricky if I have to add everything else to it lol.

16. Something you are good at but don't really have fun doing

I think hair? I can draw hair super well but it’s a pain to come up with different styles or trying to figure out how far back someone’s ponytail is. Yeah I can draw it but I don’t have fun researching it (except for curly/afro hair, I might be limited by my brushes but I will succeed)

21. Art styles nothing like your own but you like anyways

Hehehehehe I get to show off a cool artist. The artist Wszczebrzyszynie has such beautiful art and gorgeous backgrounds, I absolutely adore this art.

They know fully well how to use colour theory to their advantage to make you think you know what colour you’re looking at, tricking your brain to see something else.

Unfortunately as you can see, my art is very bright and colourful so I don’t take any inspiration from Wszczebrzyszynie, but I admire from a distance.

29. Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically

Would it be surprising if I said I liked the LOTR movies? Maybe the books if I can steal my sibling’s books?

If you asked me to draw a hobbit/halfling or drawf or even armour, it’s not gonna look like this. The most it inspires me is worldbuilding but I follow dungeon meshi for that, something else I like and also doesn’t inspire me artistically.

For the artist ask game: Perhaps 2. Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even), or 6. Anything that might inspire you subconsciously (i.e. this horse wasn't supposed to look like the Last Unicorn but I see it)?

Now that’s a good question, I fall under the stereotype of 3/4 angles lol, usually facing the left. I do however find drawing someone facing forward easier than straight on their side, I still need references for complete side views, it’s the lips…

6. Anything that might inspire you subconsciously

I answered this with Steven universe, the only other thing to come to mind is monster high I think? It’s in the legs being slightly wonky lmao. Oh and the way I draw fins remind me of my homestuck days…
