It has certainly been a while since my last post, so let's play a game of:

Grimdaaks Life Update!

The rules are simple, you sit there as a captive audience and I ramble into the void about my life! Huzzah! Let's begin!

University has been going pretty ok actually. My software engineering course has finally about to get better and my network engineering course is slowly making more sense to me

Work life, however, is not going well. I gotta find a new job pretty quickly, hopefully something that pays well enough to support my rent and studies

Other misc events are going ok, I've finally begun to eat again so that's pretty cool!

I've gotten back into stargate again! I'm currently on season 9 of SG1 and season 2 of Atlantis. I'm enjoying it a lot actually, I wish I had gotten back into it sooner.

I've joined a few DnD and pathfinder games! I finally get the opportunity to play the titular Grimdaak the Anxious character! Huzzah!

I'm hopefully gonna get an ADHD diagnosis soon, which is very cool and fun! Self-diagnosis has been my main thing for a while, but if I want government siooort then I'll need an official diagnosis which sucks, but that is how the chips fall.

Some personal worldbuilding

I quite like worldbuilding you see, quite a lot. I never really get the chance to do any between university, work, and the general requirements of being somewhat social, but when I do, I love it! Lately, I've been working with a friend to make a world. Well, I say working with him, he more or less tricked me into doing it. It's a funny story actually, it began with a romance novel between a human mage and a lizard knight that I got really annoyed at because it did nothing else with the setting beyond just having swords and "magic", so 24 hours later I came back to him with a rough draft of an entire world for this setting, including but not limited too:

multiple races including an extinct/vanished race with lots of mysteries attached

multiple kingdoms with geopolitical tensions between them

a semi-fleshed-out magic system based on weaving

a general history of the world and how the races interacted

some basic maps (when I say basic, I mean blobs drawn on a page with annotations saying "here is x, y and z")

a basic plot hook to help spur on a romance between a human mage and a knight from another species

I'm not exactly a furry mind you, nor do I associate with the groups of people who like human and non-human parings, I just got really annoyed at how the short story he showed me had nothing else going on in the background.

I think it's rather funny thinking about how sheer annoyance can spur creativity.

I'm going to be completely honest, I am unsure as to what frequency I should post these blog updates?

Is there a correct amount? a rate limit? is there some form of social etiquette to which users on this site should follow?

It feels dangerous, to be on social media without some clear rules! What secrets are the rest of the users hiding? Do they hold a guidebook to Tumblr? We shall never know unless someone tells me. Then I too would know and pass on the sacred knowledge!

Cooking and Me

You know, cooking is surprisingly hard. Sure, there are some people who it just comes naturally to, and other people train pretty hard to get at least moderately proficient at cooking but me? I can't cook to save my life! No one ever really taught me how to cook, so I was kinda just thrown into the deep end when I moved (halfway around the world mind you). It's taken me two years, but I think I'm finally getting a handle on it. Getting diagnosed with Autism helps but I digress!

All of this is a very roundabout way of saying that I made some enchiladas from one of those store-bought meal kits and they were very nice.

Alright, seems like not even 20 minutes with a new tumblr and this thing is already broken? Can't verify my email address because why wouldn't that work?? I'm sure I'll sort it out eventually but for now, it'll be like I'm in super secret stealth mode! Huzzah!

Hello Tumblr!

It's once again that time that I discard the old Tumblr and restart a new, this time with a whole new persona too! This one is named Grimdaak the Anxious, and he's one of my dungeons and dragons characters. Truth be told, he's probably the one I feel most comfortable with being on the internet. Sure, if you dig enough you'll find the standard username and connect the dots there but why go through all that effort?

Unlike my previous attempts, I think I'll view this blog as more of a general one rather than focusing on some specific niche like my last ones did. I think it'll work better that way? Who knows. I hope this one stays for longer though!
