"oh so you're spiritual but not religious" no actually I am deeply religious in alarmingly carnal and esoteric ways. If you even care.

Witchcraft and poetry are inseparable for me. What is a poem but a spell, every word woven with care and intention? A poem has the potential to craft new worlds, to open a portal into unseen realities, to rewild our hearts and souls. Poetry is spellcraft.

one of the biggest things I can advocate for (in academia, but also just in life) is to build credibility with yourself. It’s easy to fall into the habit of thinking of yourself as someone who does things last minute or who struggles to start tasks. people will tell you that you just need to build different habits, but I know for me at least the idea of ‘habit’ is sort of abstract and dehumanizing. Credibility is more like ‘I’ve done this before, so I know I can do it, and more importantly I trust myself to do it’. you set an assignment goal for the day and you meet it, and then you feel stronger setting one the next day. You establish a relationship with yourself that’s built on confidence and trust. That in turn starts to erode the barrier of insecurity and perfectionism and makes it easier to start and finish tasks. reframing the narrative as a process of building credibility makes it easier to celebrate each step and recognize how strong your relationship with yourself can become

Baptism By Eclipse
A ritual to inspire radical change of the self
Before the eclipse, prepare ashes of cedar and mesquite wood
Make a pitcher of the following and be sure to charge under the sun for several hours. (Do not drink!)
water
rosemary for mental power and motivation
bay leaf for manifestation
sage for wisdom
lavender for peace and acceptance
cinnamon bark for personal strength
comfrey for protection during transition
Prepare three offerings of your choosing for the sun, moon, and earth.
Just before the eclipse, invite the mind, body, spirit to the ceremony
"I invite the Human Spirit in the form of the Sun, the Human Mind in the form of the Moon, and the Human Body in the form of the Earth to witness this ceremony. As these three celestial bodies align, I offer the following gifts in exchange for your favor."
Present the offerings.
"I ask the Earth, the body, to nurture me and guide me through this time of transformation as you have always done."
As the eclipse begins, use the ashes to draw a dark circle on your forehead and say,
"I ask the Moon, the Mind, as you eclipse the sun, let your shadow pass over me and carry my old self with you when you depart."
Meditate on the aspects of yourself you are letting go of, visualize yourself releasing these things, picture yourself as an empty vessel, a clean slate.
As the sun begins to appear say,
"I ask the Sun, the Spirit, as you return, let your light shine on me and grant me the strength to manifest my best self. "
Pour the water over your face, letting it wash the ashes away.
Meditate on the person you will become. How will you act, think, feel? Feel the suns warmth on your skin, charging you. Feel the herbs working their magic to inspire you and guide you. You will be a better version of yourself.

Some ideas on how to (re-)connect with nature ♡
⭑ Take a walk through the forest or a park, don't use your phone or listen to music, rather listen to the sounds of nature actively. What can you hear?
⛤ Collect some leaves, rocks, pine cones, feathers or anything else that you think is pretty! Maybe use your bounty to decorate your home with it?
⭑ Go touch some grass! No, this is not a joke, let's go feel the grass between your fingers and toes.
⛤ Try to find some flowers and smell them, what can you compare the scents with? Preferably, go outside and find wild flowers instead if bought ones!
⭑ Take a bath in a lake or dip your hands and feet into the water (a river is perfect, too!) Close your eyes and just feel the water.
⛤ Have a little picnic on a meadow, at the lake, in the forest or at any other peaceful spot. It's a date with yourself and with nature!
⭑ If this is an option for you: do some gardening work. Get your hands all dirty with earth and mud!
⛤ Pick some wild flowers from a meadow and make a little bouquet with them. (But please don't rip out the roots!)
⭑ Talk to the trees. Yes, this sounds silly but a tree is a perfect listener and companion if you need to talk something off of your chest.
⛤ Watch the sunset or sunrise. Enjoy this magical moment. How many colors can you spot?
⭑ Get some houseplants and take good care of them every day. (If you have pets, make sure your new friends are not poisonous for them!)
⛤ Observe. What kind of birds, plants, flowers and trees can you find in your environment? What kind of animals can you meet in the forest nearby? (Maybe write your observations down in a notebook!)
⭑ Lay down on some moss, grass or sand and just exist and feel how the earth carries you.
⛤ Go plant some flowers!
⭑ Spend some time in nature without social media (maybe leave your phone at home!)
⛤ Take a walk in the rain and / or dance in the rain.
⭑ Watch a thunderstorm from a safe spot
⛤ Craft a moss jar (these are so cute and perfect if you want some more nature in your own home!)
⭑ Keep little jars or flasks of the elements in your home (examples: earth - moss/earth/sand, water - water from a lake/river or collected rain water, air - a feather, fire - ashes, a used match)
⛤ Be more attentive to your environment: when do you notices changes in the seasons?
⭑ Have a self-love day, because you are a part of nature as well and deserve your own love!
⛤ Try to actively appreciate nature: be more thankful for the food, the water, the warmth nature provides us

Healing and Strength Through Transition
A spell jar for times of heartbreak, tragedy, mourning, or any difficult changes such as recovery from addiction, etc.
Ingredients:
Mesquite Leaves for resilience during hardship
Butterfly Wings for graceful acceptance of change
Thyme for healing and good luck
Rosemary for easing of pain, mental clarity, and motivation
Bee's Nest for hard work and dedication
Oak Bark for personal strength
Carnations for healing and courage
Powdered Eggshell for protection during transition
I did not write this spell for the purposes of sharing, it was made to assist with dealing with my own heartbreak and used very specific items I foraged on walks near my apartment and my personal correspondences. I did not harm any butterflies or bees to get them! If you plan to use my recipe but can't find the items, I would suggest the following substitutions:
honey or a spider's web instead of the bees nest
dandelions instead of butterfly wings
I do not suggest substituting much else!

"It's March. I open the window and spring floats in, kisses me on the nose. I have waited so long–and now the Sun is washing the world in yellow, and now the seeds sprout green in the dirt, and now the trees are budding and ready to bloom–and it was all so worth it."

I'm in search of witches who are mothers/fathers who may be willing to talk with me about magical and practical advice. My brother is expecting a baby soon and I'm going to be an auncle. I'm the only witch in the family and feel it's my duty to protect them both in the way I'm capable of through magic.
If you're not a mother/father but just happen to know of some spells to aid during pregnancy, childbirth, and infancy, please send them my way!
