Another Sky mp in animal jam! genuinely the most fun i've had with digital art in a hot minute, critters are fun to draw and aj is fun to draw on despite its 1 million flaws
#sky cotl#this is gorgeous#Makes me desperately want it on a mug#Could just be the background color though#Admittedly a sucker for blue mugs and good art

Just met another player on Sky. They were deep calling butterflies and I tried to emote to tell them not to. They brought out a table and we talked! They didn’t know deep calling broke the butterflies for other players, but apparently for them in PlayStation, the emote doesn’t work at ALL. So now their only option IS to deep call if they want dye!
This whole butterfly problem has had so many bugs and it’s so sad to see everyone confused or frustrated. I’m REALLY hoping TGC fix this issue soon.
If the butterfly emote doesn’t work for you (whether the emote itself or it doesn’t show up after burning the dark plants) I encourage you to report it on the Discord. I can’t promise it will get fixed, but hopefully if enough people bring it to their attention, something will be done about it.
#sky cotl#not sure if it helps but doing the normal emote instead of using the que works too#i stuck it on my quick emote wheel and use that most of the time instead

A story in three parts: 🌺
Can’t stop won’t stop

Oh, so I’m learning that threading patterns are not unified across the discipline and I have misunderstood this one (getting v where it should be ^ and vice versa because I’ve been starting with D in the top corner [ D A ] not A in the top corner [ A D ]
[ C B ] [ B C ]
and apparently not only does that matter but I can’t fix it on the warp. Well. I’m just a baby. I’m learning! And they’re not the clear cut flowers I thought I was getting, but they’re pretty enough to continue with and frankly still make a great shoelace...

Someone explain to me why my edges are consistently wavy, and everyone else’s edges are neat???

#beautiful either way#are you rotating your edge cards constantly or matching them to the pattern?#you get wavy spots where you change direction of rotation on the edges#please ignore if unhelpful#i cant see clearly since its black

Internally it's usually a stuck panic feeling. It's kinda like having a mental breakdown in front of a computer screen that's supposed to be loading up a list of tasks or a program but all it does is spin the little loading wheel on and on and on, occasionally displaying an obviously wildly inaccurate loading time for a few seconds. I know that if I push enough buttons I can sometimes get to the task but it (at least feels like) it could bluescreen the whole device and I REALLY REALLY need to get this working because whatever I needed it for was supposed to be done hours ago.
Question: what does executive disfunction actually feel like?

Tablecloth Project
Folks! I’m crocheting a tablecloth and thought might as well post my progress.
1/320 tiles made.
Tracked time: 2 hr 34 min

This is the first one so it took a bit of time to read and understand the progress, as I do more of em, it’ll go faster (hopefully lol)
#crochet#tablecloth#crochet project#I'm repairing a tablecloth with this pattern right now#It's such a fun design#literally working on one of these motifs for practice as I ran across this#good luck in your tablecloth endeavors

Question for anyone with a 3D printer:
Do you think it possible to print the skeleton of a Drum Carder?

If so then we could just buy some carding cloth to wrap around the cylinders and have more affordable fibre prep tools.
Selling diy drum carders like they are ikea furniture
#Look the issue isn't whether you can#The issue is whether you should#And how often you are willing to replace potentially broken parts#There are 3d patterns on the internet for looms and ball winders and yarn swifts#This would probably work just fine with insets for bearings of some sort to prevent inevitable plastic on plastic wear down#drum carder#fibre prep#handspinning#3d printing

I don't tablet weave but I know a few mutuals that do and I had an idea if you wanna steal it:
Weave a bunch of strips and do this to make A Thing
You could do some really trippy designs if you're clever about it and it could hang on the wall or be a place mat or rug or something idk
#Why must you do this to me#I don't even have any finished pieces right now#Immediately thought about trying to do it with the weird shoelace and then had to remind myself that that is inkle not tablet#I'm almost out of the crochet cotton I use too#All I have left is light blue#tablet weaving#weaving

I went out to a thrift store yesterday and it was a TDF miracle that led me to find this little Louët wheel, NiddyNoddy and (not pictured here because it is in deep freeze for an abundance of safety) a single hand carder for only $100 CAD!

there's "time to put the weaving up and go to bed" and then there's "the cord for my backstrap loom snapped and broke a warp thread in the process so I guess I'm uhhh... done"
#hand weaving#backstrap loom#At least I made some progress today#It's a handspun singles warp and somehow it wasn't even the questionable threads that died?#I was doing so well avoiding breaks

That voice in your head that says you can totally warp up that pattern after dinner? That's the devil. Halfway through a stack of cards you is definitely not interested and especially not pleased to know its all over your bed so they can't even give up and go to sleep.

demons conquered. Apparently the threading curse still stands and I will inevitably have to change how my cards are set up once they are on the loom but hey, it makes stuff.... eventually
