sherlock holmes: game of shadows is actually insane when u think about it bc john moved out of 221b baker street. he’s getting married. he stopped taking cases with sherlock. we don’t even see him for the first ten minutes -- its just sherlock and irene. the writers clearly could have taken the easy way out / taken the gay away and made irene sherlock’s primary love interest. made her sherlock’s weakness. made her the reason he jumps over the falls. but instead they kill her off! her death hurts sherlock, and is an effective message from moriarty, but it is not meant to destroy him. not like losing john would. sherlock goes on to crash john’s honeymoon, throw mary out of the train (to her safety) and take john on THEIR honeymoon. a celebration of THEIR life together that ends with them dancing, and sherlock locking eyes w john & then closing them before throwing himself off the cliff so his doctor is the last thing he ever sees — his greatest weakness and greatest love. ugh

what if I love them all? what if I am hugging the best and the worst sherlock holmes adaptations close to my chest simultaneously?? what if I'm kissing Jeremy Brett on the forehead and holding hands with Sir Ian McKellen behind his back?! what then? Can you blame me for loving them all? What if I'm so in love with the overall concept of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson that I do not care whether they're Arthur C. Doyle's versions straight from the books or some new iterations in a true crime podcast!

started out reading johnlock fics with rdjude/acd appearances and expectation but it slowly turned into bbc even tho ive never watched it 💔💔 victorian sherlock is my #1 but if push comes to shove... 💔

I do find it rather unfortunate, that of seventy-four thousand fics under the tag Sherlock Holmes/John Watson, 67,000 of them are specifically surrounding the BBC Sherlock series.

That's literally (over) ninety percent of all johnlock content right there

Though I do appreciate them in their own right,

Gimme more Victorian johnlock

Gimme more flowery language and old english

Gimme more period-typical homophobia (let me explain)

Give me devout adoration despite the consequences

Give me unconditional love in a world where it is deemed unholy
