Mutant & the Beast
Ultimate spider-man: Season 1, Episode 21: I Am Spider-Man
A Disney and X-men reference in the TV show. And now we see how Hank looks in the ultimate spider-man universe, he resembles and shares the same vest as watxm Hank Mccoy but I believe it is only a coincidence and they don't actually share the same universe.

Marvel's animated show: Hit-Monkey
Released in 2021 and season 2 on the year 2024.
Grunts, growls and roars sound familiar? Well, Monkey is voiced by Fred Tatasciore who you know voiced many of our beloved characters.
Unrelated to my blog. I just want to share with you this incredibly underrated and overlooked show that hopefully will still have another season even for it's low view.
But a WARNING. It's Rated R
Short spoiler free Review:
Hit monkey's story started a little quick on the first few episodes, understandably so as each season consists of 10 episodes. But as the episodes goes on, the story gets better, especially the animation.
Hit monkey is... Well a Monkey, that seeks revenge for his fallen tribe. Only to have a peculiar relationship with an assassin's Ghost that guides him through his journey.
But do be warned, it's Rated R. It has gore, guts and violence, and humor that might not be to your liking.
And it's honestly what I'm looking for if we have any new x-men or other marvel animated series. Perhaps a proper wolverine serie, we did get a fast ball special reference.
We had a few cameos that are familiar with the comic readers especially in the x-men universe with a delightful fanservice of fight scenes.
We finally get to see The Silver Samurai and Fat Cobra with beautifully animated fights. Hopefully this show will open the door to more animated Marvel shows in Rated R.
Unfortunately, there is no news of a season 3. Hopefully we will have a good news in the future about the fate of the show.
If you wish to know more than a few episodes can give. Do give the Comic (under the same name) a read.

Found yet another feral similar to Beast. Or is he Beast?

Introducing: Mongrel (Earth-928) from X-men 2099
First appeared on Issue #32 - #33 in the year of 1996
Written by: John Francis Moore
Mongrel bares a striking resemblance to Hank Mccoy. Making the readers think that he might have been related, he's a blue, furry Beast after all, with sharp teeth and protruding tusk. But he's not as nice as Mccoy, personality wise, he acts more like Logan, maybe with a bit of Apocalypse Sabretooth.
Hell, never mess with his vintage motorcycle.

Mongrel's described... well as a "Overbearing flea-bitten redneck." - Auntie Maim
The only difference between his and Beast's appearance is that Mongrel has jet black hair and red eyes. Or his entire eyes are just beady red, not sure why there's inconsistent coloring but perhaps there's just some artist and writer miscommunication.

Not much is known about him other than having a classic feral traits and resembling Mccoy or Callasantos. Xi'an made his own team of X-men and it's obviously not complete without a feral or two, unfortunately Mongrel doesn't have a healing factor like logan's or Hank's great strength and smarts (that we know of, at least.)

He was then captured and tortured by the villain chasing their tails. The Foolkiller.
Who, in one panel wore glove with a familiar set of claws like wolverine. Although it didn't show the villain using it in the next issues. (I apologize, only ten photos available on each tumblr post.)

Mongrel's shown to be quite sharp and tough yet he's a softy somewhere in that cold and gruff exterior. And obviously beloved by the team.

He also has a close relationship with the team leader, Xi'an Chi Xan. There's a panel of Xan reminiscing of their time together and that's all we have a glimpse of their friendship. It reminds me a bit of Scott and Hank's closeness in the earlier comics.
Here he is healing Mongrel.

Unfortunately, after he was saved. The story then... Forgot them somehow. He and the team lived but they weren't mentioned anymore and what might have happened to them, like how they managed to escape or what.

I wish the writers will come back and explore each and every one of the characters origins, especially Mongrel's.
Why does he look like Mccoy? What's his real name? His family tree? His past? How'd he become an outlaw? Why does he go by that alias?
But alas he'll forever be a character with unexplored mystery. I don't believe Marvel will explore X-men 2099 and these characters ever again.
But I appreciate underrated characters being shown. Even if we have so little of them.
BUT
He did appear once in.
2099: Manifest Destiny (1998) issue #1
Earth-96943
Where Steve Rogers recruited almost everyone to create a large team of heroes, and that includes the X-men of 2099. So we had moments of Xi'an too.
And of course, Mongrel. But barely.

(Panels are separated. I just have to fit pictures as many as I can.)
Unfortunately, the colorist must have mistaken Mongrel for another variant of Logan so he didn't appear blue.
I don't blame them. He looks like a mix between the two.
Or that is indeed another variant of Logan. I do not know, the comic has too much going on and is too overcrowded to look at. But judging from what I believe is a tusk under the oxygen mask. That might be or supposed to be Mongrel. Then again, it's better to read the comic for more context.
So, who do you Mongrel is? His history? Share your thoughts.

Attention!
Oh dear. I think I clicked something extremely serious. Please do not click any links on tumblr for that matter.
Even if you are curious as to why it's sending you to a href li when the link you are clicking on looks harmless or have clicked it before where it did nothing at all.
Do not proceed.
If a link you click says that Your Connection is Not Private, do report immediately so others won't fall victim.
May also depend on your device so keep sharp. Do not even dare proceed with curiosity. From malware, to breach, to probably putting a target on you.
Do warn me if my account is doing anything.
I do not send message, or send asks. I simply keep to myself and do not interact.
I wish there's a report option that says that it may contain suspicious link/malware. I just reported it as spam. Hopefully tumblr will get to that.
This be a lesson, to not be fool like me.
#WARNING#will delete later#If all is clear#Now I'm paranoid#If the link worked before and suddenly says connection not private#Do not continue anyway#Just because it was safe and harmless before

Tap tap

I love the small details like Mccoy politely fixing the metal bar back. (Read from Right to Left.)

X-men: The Manga Remastered
Originally published in 1998-1999 to promote the animated series in Japan, each stories has different art styles and had 13 Volumes.
I find Hank Mccoy in the x-men Manga style to be rather endearing, a good palette cleanser after the recent comics of beast. It's still on going for translation I believe so for now, he's not as present.
Hopefully, there's Beauty and the Beast.

After reading some x-men comics, I realized that there are plenty of feral type mutant characters, curious, I looked up to see if there's more similar to Beast or Sabretooth. And this one caught my attention.
Night Thrasher issue #3 (1993)

Introducing: Aardwolf
Creators: Fabian Nicieza (Who has wrote numerous X-men comics, and co-created characters we are familiar with.)
Aardwolf is known as a mutant crime lord in Madripoor and a business man.
The cover claimed that this character is more savage than Sabretooth and savvier. Giving the impression that this character is not someone to be messed with.
But then he looks far different in the comic than what the cover shows.

Right picture from: Excalibur V3 issue #7 (2004)
Here he's shown with Grey fur and dark brown mane. His appearance sort of reminded me of Dark Beast and funny enough, Aardwolf is older than our beloved mad scientist.
First appearing in Night Thrasher issue #3 (1993)
While Dark Beast first appeared in X-men Alpha (1995)

His real name wasn't revealed but somehow in a few sources he's listed as Chon Li. However, Aardwolf was talking about his private cook, so I wonder why they went with that name.
Perhaps it's because there's another Marvel character by the alias Aardwolf and they need to differentiate between the two. Or it was just an editors mistake.
Now, is he cruel and menacing as they claimed him to be?
Eh...

(Comic error: after Aardwolf attacked Night Thrasher, he ran away in his tattered robe. I don't mind, perhaps the artist forgot, or has little details of the scenes in script, besides, all these are hand drawn.)
This panel explains who he is as a character. He lives a lavish life style and letting others do the dirty work for him so he's quite inexperienced. Even with claws, speed and strength he was still overwhelmed by the main Hero and a group of thugs.
For a cover to make such claims of his character. I didn't feel any threat, or anything that says he was more savage than Sabretooth. It instead made me pity Aardwolf as he was so easily defeated.

He was given the name Aardwolf in his younger years and it was never explained why, then he's the primary opposition of the main Crime Lord in this comic. I feel that he was supposed to be explored more in the future but then it would be unimportant as the story's focus is our main character.

But I liked the character. He was interesting, a potential villain and ally but it appears that the creator wasn't sure what to do with him. After the character's short introduction, he and Night Thrasher parts ways in good terms and that was the last we seen of him.
Here we see Aardwolf with the iconic hair we see in every Ferals.

Now that there's a new Night Thrasher comic. I hope to see this character again someday, although it's been 30 years. I doubt they'll bring him back, he didn't left much of an impact on the main character and the readers. I'm sure Aardwolf is somewhere doing his crimes, businesses, and enjoying his fancy life in Madripoor.
But if in some way he returned. I'd like them to properly write him well this time around, but don't change the design, I like the Grey as it reminds me of the early versions of Beast or Dark beast for that matter, then maybe turn the white version in the comic book cover as his kin.
That one looks more menacing and threatening, it feels very different from who he is in the comic. Turning them into separate characters makes sense, in my opinion at least.

"Logan... Welcome back."
Their room's just next to each other. I love that kinda friendship. The show happened with those two bringing everyone together. Might be comfortable to be next door to someone you been with from the start.
Or just a coincidence. Still fun to theorize.

Wolverine and the x-men: Season 1, Episode 11: Past Discretion
My review on this episode is an 7/10. Not too bad, not too good. But boy there's so much potential brewing, they made such an effort to Maverick's character that I wish it was explored too in the comics.
In this show he was a father, hunted down and taken by weapon X, erasing his memories and unknowingly abandoning his daughter.
