Red Feather (an imprint with Schiffer Publishing) sent over the brand new Magic Lantern Sibilla Deck by Caitlin Matthews and illustrated by Anastasia Kashian for me to review. It’s my first experience with a Sibilla deck! I knew it was time to take a look at this card system when I read that it is the first version published with English titles. It’s typically in Italian if you are new to this system. I jumped at the chance to work with this deck and to share it with you because this is an exciting development in the cartomancy world.
This is a divinatory system that came into popularity in Italy around the 1850s. The fact that this deck is continuing to be introduced to new parts of the world over 175 years later is a testament to its utility as a divinatory tool, helping readers around the world understand their daily lives on a deeper level.
The creator and illustrator did an amazing job presenting a new vision for this divinatory system while keeping its historic charm and essence. The artwork that has an almost Victorian or impressionistic painting feel to them truly transports you to the old parlor days when cartomancers were sought out on the regular for exploring everyday issues.
And the guidebook is so thorough and comprehensive that it’s essentially a textbook, helping you master this cartomancy system through independent study. It’s set up as a 52-week course to help you tackle the system slowly over the year if you need to take things slowly and in smaller digestible chunks. I love this because I just finished a 10-week 19th century spreads course and really enjoyed devoting time each week to learn a new practice and to progress on my divinatory journey each week.
Check out my full deck review on my tarot blog to learn more about this cartomancy system. I know I’m going to really enjoy spending time with it every week as I work my way through this meaty 352-page guidebook.
The Magic Lantern Sibilla releases June 28, 2025 - $39.99 preorder thru the link below

Thanks to @redfeather for sending this deck and guidebook over!

Red Feather sent over the brand new book, Mastering the Tarot Tableau: Revisiting Predictive Accuracy with Tarot by Toni Savory for me to review. I’ve been taking several online divination classes with Toni this year, so it’s perfect that her book just dropped!
Ever since I learned the grand tableau method used in reading Lenormand where you lay the full deck of 36 cards out in a large spread, I’ve wanted to translate that into a method for reading tarot, and this book helps to learn that exact approach. So, I jumped at the chance to review this book the moment Toni announced its release. This tableau-style of reading opens up our ability to read narratively and will add layers to your readings quickly. Learning to read how the cards interact with each other gives us more precise messages as the story begins to flow from one card to the next.
Mastering the Tarot Tableau helps you master Tarot fundamentals, understand card meanings within the tableau context, learn both beginner and advanced tableau techniques, build compelling narratives in your interpretations, explore card interactions and positional significance using directional interpretations, and decode the impact of major arcana, minor arcana, and tarot court cards.
Toni offers plenty of examples using real tableau spreads so that we can see this method in action, and we pick up the technique quickly as we follow along on her walkthroughs of her example spreads. By the end of this book, you will have mastered several new techniques for a multi-layered reading approach, including knighting, mirroring, reading diagonals and deciphering the interpersonal dynamics of the figures in the tableau.
If you’ve ever wondered how a pro dissects a spread, this book offers you a look behind the curtain as she works.
Check out my full book review on my tarot blog to see what all Toni covers in this masterclass! It’s going on my list of the best tarot references that I recommend to new readers. Link below to this blog post
Thanks to @redfeathermbs for sending this book over!

Do you struggle with reading the court cards in the tarot? I used to before I deconstructed each and created psychological profiles for every single court card in all for tarot suits. It took quite a bit of time, but I’m SO glad I invested the time and effort to fully understand each personality from their strengths to their flaws. And I share all this insight with you on my tarot podcast.
For each suit, I examine the pages, knights, queens, and kings, including positive and negative personality traits and a list of psychological conditions I think would be most prominent with each suit using my expertise as a clinical psychologist. These profiles help to understand these court cards at a deeper level. And at the end of each episode, I share a custom spread inspired by the traits of that suit.
Catch up on all these court card episodes to master the tarot court and become a better tarot reader – Healing Thru Tarot Ep. 56, 58, 60 and 62. There’s also a Healing Thru Tarot companion blog that I post on my website healingthrutarot.com where I also post tarot and oracle deck reviews.
Healing Thru Tarot is available on apple podcasts, spotify, pandora, amazon music, audible, pocket casts, goodpods, and more. Check it out!

Rockpool Publishing sent over the Wild Whispers Oracle deck by Nat Girsberger for me to share with you. Its bright terracotta color palette and profound transformative messages took me by surprise as did its theme of exploring the heart and soul of the desert. It’s already been teaching me to take a more active role in this stage of my healing journey.
The creator, Nat Girsberger, says, “Wild Whispers is an ode to vast natural wisdom, both internal and external, and the movement it inspires.”
There are 44 cards in this oracle deck consisting of modern, minimalistic imagery that is evocative and transformative and allows you to quickly and easily tap into the wild whispers calling to you from the natural world. “They will inspire you to recognize and alchemize your potential that is as limitless as the desert, so you can be just as bold.”
This deck is organized into 4 passing phases of the day: sunset, sun nadir, sunrise, and sun zenith. The sun is your compass through the cards and through your alchemical journey towards full brightness. The sun mirrors your own cycles of potential and growth. Just as the desert transforms over the day, the sun’s motion is meant to inspire your own inner movement.
Centered around a core theme, each of the individual cards in the guidebook offer seven steps that follow a path to transformation, loosely based on spiritual alchemy. On my blog where I have my full-length review of this deck, I go into detail describing each of those steps and I give my thoughts on how each step mirrors a lot of the healing work done in therapy.
Thanks to @Rockpoolpublishing for sending over this powerful, healing deck to work with and to share. And thank you @natgirsberger for creating such a beautiful and unique deck. I know this is going to help empower more people to take a more active role in their own healing journeys!

Lost Oracle is my favorite oracle deck from 2024!
I got it in October, and it’s already become a fast favorite. I knew from the moment I saw the images online that I would click with it. This one has strong witch/crone energy for me.
I’ve been using it with my year ahead readings, and it always provides such a profound message that speaks to the heart of the issue for the querent. The guidebook is deeply insightful with historical references/stories of resilience in the face of adversity – something I think we all need at this moment in history. The messages don’t sugarcoat these times. They help us accept the situation we find ourselves in and give us practical and no-nonsense guidance on how to tap into our OWN power, strength, and determination to persevere in those trying circumstances.
I love to read with it along with the Wild Woman Oracle also by Rockpool Publishing. They both have such powerful, feminine energy that helps with summoning the empowerment needed to persevere in these wild and crazy times.
The creator says, “The Lost Oracle is a resource for making peace with your place in the world. It is a source of protection, a guide for healing, a touchstone of reassurance and a compass for experiencing success of all kinds in life. It is an unwavering light shining on an uncertain future that can become less troubling and more enticing when viewed from an enlightened perspective. Steeped in ancient wisdom, Lost Oracle will help you understand and manage the forces around you and within you today to find your way to the place where you feel found.”
Thanks to Rockpool Publishing for sending this deck over for review back in October. I’m so happy to report that since that initial review, it’s still calling to me over and over again and has helped a lot of my clients find solace and empowerment during this tumultuous time!
See my longer deck review of this amazing, profound, and insightful deck on my tarot blog on healingthrutarot.com – link below

New Book Review on my Tarot Blog for Tarot for Light Seers: A Journey Through the Symbols, Messages, & Secrets of the Cards by Chris-Anne Donnelly (published by Hay House).
If you LOVE the Light Seers Tarot as much as I do, this expanded guidebook is a MUST with full-sized brightly colored images of each of the cards, more in-depth messages to peak behind the creation process to understand exactly what she envisioned for each image and what she wanted to convey with her artistic expression, and new spreads for each of the 22 major arcana cards. She also includes prompts with each card description to help us ask more questions about the themes covered in each card to deepen our card pulls. This greatly adds to the experience of reading with her greatest creation.
I fully appreciated the behind the scenes look at the creation of the deck and the personal stories shared by Chris-Anne since I am such a big fan of hers and her creations.
In this new blog post, I take you through the book and show you all the new features, and I share some of the artistic insights that impressed me the most and how it’s already impacted and enhanced my readings.
Check out my book review on my tarot blog on healingthrutarot.com - link here
Thank you to @hayhouse for sending over this beauty and thank you Chris-Anne for creating my soul deck and this expanded guidebook that allows me to connect with it on an even deeper level than before!!

New deck review up on my tarot blog
Rockpool Publishing sent over the Seasons of the Witch: Ostara Oracle for me to review and share with you. This is the 8th and final deck in my favorite oracle series!
I don’t have many spring decks, so this one is a welcome addition to my growing collection of oracles. And this deck works so well with the Beltane Oracle.
We’ve got cards like Spring Cleaning, Composting, Germination, Floromancy, Painted Eggs, Creating Altars, Eggshell Pots just to name a few.
Ostara celebrates the spring equinox and marks the end of a journey, renewal, and new beginnings. This marks the first day of spring with the light triumphing over the darkness as the days become longer. With the warming of temperatures, the earth begins waking up from its winter slumber. Plants and flowers begin to sprout and animals come out of hibernation after a long winter. All of this is represented so well in this deck.
There are 44 cards that the creators say they hope will inspire us when planting seeds that will eventually blossom and flourish.
You can use this deck even outside of Ostara especially at these times: when inspiration strikes for a new project/idea, when seeking purity or spirit or reconnecting with your innocence, to replenish or rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit, and in times of rebirth.
Thanks to Rockpool Publishing for sending this amazing deck! I LOVE changing out these decks every sabbat/season. It keeps my tarot practice fresh, and I never get bored. There’s so much variety in this series and I love the way their guidebooks are set up to offer us recipes, rituals, techniques, and meditations with the cards we pull. This helps us easily implement magic into our daily lives! Each of these oracles in this series are amazing tools!
Check out my longer deck review in a new blog post on healingthrutarot.com where I dive into the Ostara Oracle, and I walk you through all the themes of Ostara and how they are represented in this deck. Link below
