Based on a moment from chapter 1 of I Am a Cat by Natsume Sōseki:
"...I came to the cypress fence at the western end; and there I saw an enormous cat fast asleep on a bed of withered chrysanthemums, which his weight had flattened down."
I ran out of ink and realized that I could refill the cartridge, so I bought a second brush pen, a bottle of gray fountain pen ink, and a syringe. The black + gray inks work great and I had a blast testing them out with these Pokémon.
Haven’t had much time to paint bc of grad school so I decided to dig out the ol’ Pentel Pocket Brush Pen™️ to use in my sketchbook (to keep myself familiar with using a brush). Here are the first couple pages. Rouge the Bat, my beloved…
My Halloween painting for this year’s Art Ghoullery exhibition at The Rourke Art Gallery + Museum in Moorhead, MN. The theme this year is Staying Alive~
I needed a flat file to store prints, but it was impossible finding one the right size (big enough for 10x10 prints but small enough to fit in my closet) and the right price (full-sized flat files are thousands of $, and are also massive). So here’s a simple Ikea hack I did on the Eket cube: measured out 8 shelves, cut 1/2” square wood dowels into 12” pieces and nailed them in, then cut foamcore to size for the shelves. Total cost was about $60. 💫
I went plein air painting for the first time in over a year over the weekend. But when I arrived at the park, I realized half my paint pots were empty -_-
