So I thought about it and decided I want to try creating my own version of this challenge.

The idea came to me completely spontaneously. I was thinking about how my "style" keeps changing-which basically reflects how my real-life style shifts too: one phase I want one aesthetic, another phase something totally different, you get the idea. And then it hit me-why not draw mermaids in different aesthetics/ cores? Like, why the heck not? x)

Just to clarify, I haven't seen this exact idea anywhere before, so I'm not claiming to be some genius who invented it. But if anyone else wants to join and uses #MerstheticMay, please taq me too-I'd love to see what you come up with! (And hey, you can always hit follow while you're at it :p)

It was my birthday on January 28th, so I painted myself 😶‍🌫️

So, the Secret Santa among the artists has passed, and I ended up creating this little girl for Amethysta

(last photo: original) ✨

It was honestly quite challenging because the character is not typical for me, and so are the colors (and I really don't know how to work with orange) 👽

I initially drew her in traditional style, but it just didn't go well; I simply didn't know what to do/draw. However, I immediately wanted to add decorations to her horns, but it was hard to find references. In the end, I couldn't even generate what I wanted, so I had to improvise 🫠

I might have wanted to create that vibe because I'm currently watching Game of Thrones 🤡👾✨

In the background, I planned to combine the moon and the sun, but something just felt off, so the brooch from the original ended up as a decoration on her head. By the way, I had also planned for this accessory to be like "there's a star shining on her forehead," but that idea also fell through ✨

Well, it's a portrait because I love portraits. What's a full-body drawing? IDK.

В общем прошел Тайный Санта среди художников и у меня получилась вот такая вот девочка для Аметисты (последнее фото: ориг) ✨

Было честно говоря сложно, потому что персонаж для меня не типичный и цвета тоже (а с оранжевым я вообще работать не умею) 👽

Рисовала ее сначала в традишке, но что-то не особо пошло, я тупо не знала, что сделать/нарисовать. Однако мне сразу захотелось сделать ей украшения на рога, но было сложно найти референсы, в итоге даже и не сгенерировал мне то, что я хочу, поэтому пришлось импровизировать 🫠

Возможно захотелось сделать такой вайб из-за того, что я сейчас смотрю игру престолов🤡👾

✨ На заднем фоне планировалось сделать совмещенные месяц и солнце, но что-то как будто было не то, поэтому брошь с оригинала осталась украшением на голове в итоге. Кстати еще я планировала, что это украшение будет аля "а во лбу звезда горит", но эта идея тоже отпала ✨

Ну а еще это портрет, потому что я люблю портретики. Что такое полнорост? Хз

My eyes hurt so much... and I'm so tired of my poor eyesight... the lenses did not fit and now the eyes are stupidly flowing out of their orbits... even with glasses, it's hard to exist, because I'm stupidly disgusted with them. I start to get seasick and everything around me becomes blurred not in the way it would be blurred because of my poor eyesight, but in a different way.. I don't know.. in general, I want to cry :*)

And I also went to the dentist today🤙in the end what? I have to pay about 150k for dental treatment (that's ≈1389$)

I don't know, it put pressure on me, so I cried all day today not only because of this, but also because of other problems :р

The photo is NOT today's. I just went to get some bread. buit was delicious and crunchy, and the saleswoman also told me: "well, as always with beautiful makeup"🥹

and now I walk without glasses and without lenses on the street with fear of crashing/ falling, etc :р
