Another pattern made by myself. She was conceived AND birthed 5/23/19, which is the shortest gestation time I think I鈥檝e had yet. She鈥檚 perfect in her imperfection. This was stitched on 14ct aida with JP Coates thread.

This giant crustacean from the Paleolithic era was completed on 3/27/19 while I watched Aquaman with my husband and mother-in-law. The pattern called for a different water pattern, but I liked the simplicity of the water I stitched.
The pattern was stitched on 14ct Aida and I used DMC floss.

Pattern was found here, and project was completed 4/7/19. The pattern called for beads, but I decided to wait until I learned how to embroider a french knot.聽
I used DMC floss and 14ct Aida.

I used Stitchpoint.com, a cross stitch/embroidery font generator to create these quotes and completed both of them 5/05/19.聽 They were done in DMC 310 and 14ct Aida.

This is the first pattern I created on my own! I went to ridiculous lengths to grid the pattern, and once it was finished, I had to make another. The heart is over my the county I live in. I love my fabulous home state of West Virginia, and plan on finishing them in hoops and selling them at my local art gallery.聽

I didn鈥檛 do the side border of the pattern, because I didn鈥檛 cut my fabric large enough (or I didn鈥檛 start completely in the middle of the fabric, which is honestly equally likely).聽 This is another @shitpostsampler pattern, and it is hilarious. My husband and my brother have both cracked up about it, as well. Thank you very much for the pattern, guys. Their website is here, if you want to peruse their patterns. This was stitched on 14ct Aida with DMC thread and was finished on 3/20/19.

Since it is spring, I decided to incorporate springy pastel colors into this pattern. Personally, I love it. Thank you to @shitpostsampler for making this beautiful, and hilarious pattern. Their website is here, if you want to peruse their wonderful patterns. This was stitched on 14ct Aida using DMC floss and completed on 3/21/19.聽

This was a Chrismas present for my future sister-in-law. Doing the color changes was really fun, and I enjoyed working with the varigation in the thread, even though I could probably have done a much better job at it. The pattern was free through @shitpostsampler, here on Tumblr.
Stitched on 14ct Aida using a combination of DMC thread and J&P Coats thread.

This is a finish for my brother, to adorn his home. It was my first medium sized project. I have been sitting on this finish since about January. There are a lot of carried threads, but since it was my first time doing this large of a project, I am not beating myself up too much about it. One thing I did really well about this project was that I cut enough fabric to do a proper FFO on it, and I got it mostly centered.
This was stitched on 14 ct Aida. The pattern was by JacktheStitcher on Etsy.

March is complete! This was a free pattern from cyberstitchers.com, and I didn鈥檛 have the colors on hand, so I improvised. Part of me wishes that I had actually used the pastels I was supposed to, because I feel like the background is too dark.聽 One thing I did really well was that I cut my fabric big enough that I can FFO the project in pretty much however I want.
This was stitched on 14ct white Aida and completed 3/22/19.

This was created as a present for my father-in-law, and ended up stitching up fairly quickly. I got the pattern from Crossstitchhobbyshop on Etsy, and originally called for being stitched on white aida, but instead, I had this beautiful blue already in my stash, so I used it! I am quite pleased with the result, even if the thread used was not DMC. I鈥檓 sure he will love it, at least. There is also a little speck of dust or something on the finished piece there, that I didn鈥檛 get a chance to brush off before taking the picture. This is probably the first project I have ever finished, and it was quite an easy start.
You can get the pattern here!

This is a project I finished by Stitchinmommy on Etsy. I chose to use pink fabric and dark and light purple floss for the text because they are my mother-in-law鈥檚 favorite colors.聽 This is the first entirely backstitched project I have completed, but it was finished fairly quickly. Again, the framing ended up being a little rough. And, if she prefers after I gift it to her on Christmas, I will probably end up putting a little bit of a border or something around the top.
You can find the pattern here!

So, I cobbled together my own cross stitch pattern for a Christmas present for my brother-in-law. This is the first pattern I have created on my own. I did mess up on the spacing on the bottom left, but overall, I am very happy with how it turned out.聽
Now, framing, that鈥檚 another monster entirely. I just picked cross stitching up again last month to make Christmas presents for my friends and family, and I have never framed a finished piece before, so a few of them turned out a little rough.
