Allison Janney: They wrote that for Leo. For John Spencer.

Richard: I said, "You know it makes sense, given the way that we interact, that we have a history and that I went and got her." And they immediately agreed. John was great. "You know what, that makes sense."

Allison: Richard is so smart that way. He can think of things like that.

Richard: See, she's just being complimentary because I'm sitting here.

Allison: No I'm not! Shut up. That solidified our relationship more. There's a history before that moment that you saw poolside.

Richard: When someone doesn't have a strong reaction to someone falling in a pool, there must be a lot of history.

Allison: That's very true.

At first, I didn't like the female lead. She seemed annoying. Then I realised  that she was so, so strong. She carried on the tradition of Strong Kamen Rider Female Characters, wonderfully. And I do love how she's played, with hilarious facial expressions and reactions. Such a special character :)

We always spoke of him as 'the constipated rider' when he first appeared, because my sis said he looked constipated. Fellow-feeling for him. I do love accel so, and it's all the nicer when grumpy!accel falls in love and is fallen-in-love-with. AAAH, I must rewatch those scenes again.

Should you make your enemy watch it?

Yes!It is intense in a way that would make your enemy suffer. Punish your enemy. Make them suffer. This assumes your enemy has feelings. If your enemy has none, make them watch The House of Flying Daggers, to waste their time (this being a movie I would actually not make my enemy watch). This is a personal view only, and House of Flying D is much loved by many, I believe.

Quick summary of views:

Is it good? Yes. But I liked The Fighter better, and I liked Silver Linings Playbook better. Why do I bring them into the picture? Before I knew that this director did those films as well, I saw the cast and thought of those two films, which were nifty gems. NIFTY GEMS. Bears repeating. Sorry, today I am judgmental and harsh.

I think the front could’ve been sewn a little better, but I don’t know how.

The direction is awesome, the lines swim along, the characters swing you along with them, it moves. So that’s all well and that’s why there are four stars. I read a 3.5 star review. Should I give it 3.5 stars given the issues with sewing and cutting? No, because it did what it set out to do, and it was beautifully-shot and finely-written (I do mean finely-written - with a fine pen and nib to capture humans).

(When you do something more than you (or anyone else expects you to) set out to do, you find yourself with The Adjustment Bureau or Rurouni Kenshin. When you do less, you get Contagion.)

First Look at Miyazaki’s New Manga

The 72-year-old legend, Hayao Miyazaki, has said to retire after his latest film, The Wind Rises, releases. Well, The Wind Rises was released in June of Japan and will release early next year in the United States, but it seems like Miyazaki is enjoying his “retirement,” by working on something new: a manga based off of samurai in the Warring States era of Japan. No word on this manga releasing soon, but it’s a promising bit of info for those wanting more from Miyazaki, post-directing!
