Steampunk AU

Honestly came up with this because I wanted more steampunk like designs for some hermits (Hypno and False mainly).

Do I have more ideas for this au except 'oooh cool clothes'? No.

The swaggon is definitely part of it though

honestly? how valid, as a person who likes to draw, i make a ton of aus just so i could make designs for the characters and such.

And yeah, swaggon definitely fits the whole steampunk vibes, and False's whole vibe screams steampunk to me so does Scar lol,

This is my first time sending here so I don't really know what to do T~T but here's my Boatem Band AU idea.

Grian was a broke college student studying music. To save funds, he's living with his childhood friend, Pearl. Pearl, on the other hand, is also another college student who hated her major and has been considering dropping out and finding a job. Grian encouraged Pearl to drop out and just start a band with him to earn funds. When they were young, they actually performed as a musical duo, with Grian as a guitarist and Pearl as a pianist. They asked Mumbo to be their bassist. He is Grian's college bestie who is still in his emo phase.

Mumbo agreed and found them a drummer, Impulse, who was his neighbour. They met each other when Mumbo heard Impulse playing drums, then Mumbo played his bass in response. An added bonus is that Impulse is a soundcloud rapper (Hermitgang). Lastly, they needed a vocalist. Mumbo suggested Scar, who is an acting student at their college. Despite being a good singer and theatrical performer (lol I imagined Gerard Way in this), Scar was never picked to be the lead actor of a musical because the universe said so. He decided to try his luck with Grian's band. And so they lived happily ever after.

Pearl being a pianist and Grian being a guitarist fits their vibes, and it reminds me a lot of my younger sibling and me lol. Pearl n Grian aso have those vibes too

and ah yes, the emo bassist. What at way to describe Mumbo Jumbo /pos. Are Mumbo's and Impulse's musical duets played their their own houses or do they have meet ups?

Scar being the token theater kid is just, so him. theres really nothing to it. its just. goodtimewithscar is a nutshell.

what type of music do they make? boatem have the hip-hop/pop vibes, but also folk music, sorta like The Oh Hellos or The Crane Wives,

Oh good lord I remember that one Hermitcraft superhero/supervillain brain rot I had that was constantly on my mind ever since Season 7, so I turned it into an au :D

Description - A band of misfits that have been abandoned/rejected from society. Goals vary widely [redemption, revenge, retirement…], but all members have a common enemy; the G team.

Leader - none

Members - Zedaph, ImpulseSV, TangoTek

Description - a friend group of vigilantes that roam around the city of Hermitcraft and fight petty crime.

Running gags:

The G team and team S.T.A.R are always fighting and it usually ends up with a tie

Scar trips on anything and everything [including air]

Grian mimics his friends voices to prank them 

Mumbo lags whenever he gets nervous, causing the g team online system to shut down many times

Also the reason why he was relocated to being a mole in team S.T.A.R

Mumbo is a terrible spy 

Tango sets himself on fire at least 3 times per day

Doc gets stuff stuck on him whenever he is stressed

Ren has like over 500 family members

Joe is actually still whitelisted in Xisuma's ability, he just never relies

Cleo’s limbs randomly fall apart

False has an infamous reputation of never having a blow landed on her

People often confuse Wels as being a hero

Team Z.I.T often picks fights with villains when they are doing mundane everyday tasks such as getting coffee, not realizing that they are the ones who technically caused the damages as a result 

heck yeah!! i love me some good hero/villian aus, and this is really good, it fits everyone's vibes and themes in s7!

Grian's powers reminds me a lot of Monoma's from BNHA lol- also it seems kinda op in a way? maybe he can mimic it but its less powerful as the original power? and cleo being able to ducplicate multiple limbs is so cool (lots of potential jokes-)

and if you dont mind i have some ideas for the ones who doesn't have have powers yet-

maybe stress could have ice or nature-y powers? since it fits her vibes in s6 and s7

Bdubs could maybe have something like sleep touch, and maybe Cub could have Vex powers type thing?

and idk why, it could be funny if Etho just. dont have powers. he's just some guy and no one could catch,

Zed could maybe have smthn like potions? for that mad-scientist alchemist vibe?

An AU where everyone on the server is some sort of eldritch being. If they weren’t already when they got onto the server they become one. No one ever noticed because they had either started inhuman or were to polite/awkward to mention it. Whenever they change severs they always scare most of the people they meet. Most big severs have a similar effect to this so they just stop noticing after a bit.

oh interesting take to the eldritch being au's! Having other big servers cause a similar effect,

and interesting idea that if they weren't some type of eldritch being, they become on when they join, wonder whose apart of this group.

I also find it funny that they just. refused to bring it up to each other.

I have this old monster au I might as well mention here. The basic premise was that the hermitcraft server was an island where the hermits could hide from human society

Grian was a vampire

Mumbo was a demon

Iskall was a werewolf

Scar was a mermaid

Cub was a Fae

Doc was something like a frankenstein monster

Etho was a Kitsune

Beef was a Minotaur

Wels was a Scentaur

Bdubs was a Dryad

Keralis was Moth man

TFC was the grim reaper

JoeHills was a ghost

Cleo was a necromancer

Stress Monster was a witch

False was an alien

XB and Hypno were both humans who could talk to animals and control time respectively

Jevin was a shapeshifter

Impulse was a dragon

Tango was an Oni

Zed was an angel

Ren was an Inugami (a type of dog yokai)

and Xisuma was an Eldrich monster

(I might be forgetting some hermits)When I made this au I tries to stray away from the popular choices for a hermitcraft monster au at the time. Also I never came up with anything for Pearl and Gem since they joined long after I abandoned this au. If I were to come up with something on the spot then Pearl would be the Moon Rabbit and Gem would be a nature demigod

I'm always caught between making Tango a robot or a demon, so the conclusion is that Tango is a demon possessing a robot

Everyone on the Hermitcraft server is some degree of eldritch horror, fantastical creature, or sci-fi monstrosity.

And then there's Joe Hills, the one regular human that's such a cryptid that everyone assumes he's some sort of ancient god.

Joe really tries to show that hes just a guy, but the hermits always believe its some kind of ruse that Joe is putting up, but nope.

Boatem is a very incompetent but strangely effective superhero group.

Grian is an eldritch magical alien pretending to be a chicken hybrid with no powers besides wings and eggs. His superhero name is poultry man.

Mumbo is a shape shifter killer cyborg that eats souls to turn into things. His superhero name is Mr. Peace Love & Plants and has the highest kill count in Boatem.

Pearl is a moth lady who can control gravitational fields. She frequently changes the gravitational pull of random animals, leaving them permanently upside down. Her hero name is eclipse.

Scar is also an eldritch magical alien of a different variety to Grian that pretends to be a human sorcerer. He was formerly a villain along with his fellow Vex Cub before rebranding and helping to found Boatem. Previously the Jingler and now the Magician.

Impulse is a scientist that gained electric powers through an accident while performing an experiment with team ZIT (no hero or villain affiliation at the time, just three mad scientists) Tango nearly died in the same accident and had to download his brain into a robot. His superhero name is Discharge

Boatem fights mostly against the villain groups the Octagon and the big eye crew. Boatem causes just as many problems and do just as much illegal stuff as their rivals, but all of their members are rich in their secret identities (and Scar somehow ended up mayor of their main city of operations) so they have a widespread propaganda campaign about how heroic they all are.

I love this. I cannot express how much i love this. Not exactly heroes, but not villains either, they're in that little grey spot people seem to either not care about.

But, what about the other hermits? Are they villains as well or are they heroes or vigilantes? do boatem know about their civilian identities as well?

Did Cub try to leave or did Cub just go "okay." and decided that hermitcraft is his new home. Did he ever meet the Cub of the hermitcraft universe? What type of universe did Cub come from?

During the months between season 8 and 9 members of Boatem would pop in and out of the void between seasons, except for Mumbo. He couldn't figure out how to leave.

Mumbo can't figure it out, he tries to ask the others but they all laugh at him lightheartedly and say "Just leave!" what does that even mean?

This is more about Beef's life in the woods series than hc, but it still counts (sorta). Also, in no way is this related to the theme, I'm afraid.

The idea is that Beef's woods world is a dream of some sort. Maybe one of the long-term effects of Ex's magic forced his mind into a separate world.

He keeps finding strange books that look like they're trying to tell him something. Phantom voices whisper sorrowful words in his ears and ghosts visit him, only to leave as suddenly as they came.

So yeah, the story books are actually telling the story of how Beef got where he is now, the voices pop up whenever the hermits talk about Beef and the ghosts are the hermits who take turns staying by Beef's body in the hopes that he wakes up.

no need for you to be afraid!

And man, this is really good. Really good and angsty, did Beef ever find out about his world is a dream of the sort? did he ever wake up? Did the hermits ever find out what happened to him?
