I said I would be on after finals but I had unexpected surgery to remove my wisdom teeth so that killed a lot of my energy OTL

Shiro gave a small nod, shifting to stand from his spot and take his now empty cup to the dish washer, feeling slightly relieved that he managed to get Kuro to train with him, though the unease remained.

He gestured for Kuro to hand him his cup so he could take it and wash it.

He was sure that wasn’t what had been bothering Shiro into insomnia. Did it have a connection to it? That was a question that he would keep to himself. Maybe training would shed a light on the real problem.

“Oh, thank you.” Kuro hands over the cup, turning to watch as his brother goes toward the sink. Speaking up enough so Shiro could hear he asks,“What time do I need to be ready tomorrow?”

Shiro kept silent for a few moments, eyes traveling down at his hands as he furrowed his brows in deep concentration. Kuro would be quite hard to train physically, but it wasn’t impossible. He knew that. And so, he turned over back to Kuro, flashing him what he thought was a reassuring smile, but he wasn’t sure if it actually turned out to be of any reassurance. 

“Good, we’ll start tomorrow.” 

Though nervous at the thought of training Kuro was sure he’d be alright as long as Shiro was there. This was a good thing, building up some muscle and strength never hurt anyone. He took the smile his brother with mixed feelings; happy to see a smile grace Shiro’s face again and concern for the way it was expressed. Had to be due to the lack of sleep, Kuro thinks. Yeah, that was it.

“I’m looking forward to it.” He replies with a smile, similar to his twins and yet all his own.

Shiro’s smile faltered as he drove his gaze to his hands that gripped his once warm cup of coffee between them. 

“It’s actually more of an offer than a favor…” He trailed on, uncertainty sparking inside of him for a few seconds as he pondered if he should actually speak. He didn’t know if to explain the cause of his change of behaviour, or just get to the point and get him to accept his…offer.

“Would you ever consider doing physical training with me?” He decided to start with a simple question, eyes dragging themselves back to meet Kuro’s as he awaited for an answer.

Favor or not Kuro was happy to think that he could do something helpful for his brother. An offer would more than likely be accepted alongside any favor. Though this particular one struck odd with him. Both knew that Kuro didn’t do well when it came to physical sports or activities. Not that he minded so much in the past, the boy had always preferred the library over any gym. 

“Ah, really? A-are you sure? I mean, I may hold you back.” And that was the last thing he wanted. It was clear there was a defining gap of strength between the two and Kuro didn’t want to disappoint Shiro. But then this could actually be a chance to do something about that. He smiles when their gazes meet once more. “I don’t mind it. I’m a little baffled by it but I’ll train with you. If that’s what you really want.”

Shiro couldn’t really keep himself from feeling guilty, despite keeping himself from showing it. He loved Kuro. And it pained him everytime he had to keep himself from speaking on what was on his mind, especially to his beloved brother. You would’ve thought that he’d be numb to it at this point, and really, he thought so too. But he had come to accept that Kuro was literally the only thing he had left in this miserable life of his. And all he wanted was to be able to be strong enough to protect him from both the monsters that he knew would never stop chasing him and…from himself. Kuro wasn’t the strongest after all, both physically and if he dared say, mentally. 

The ivory haired male pursed his lips as he took a sharp intake of air through his nose, eyes drifting to land on the black haired male’s facade.

And he smiled.

“Kuro. Could you do me a favor?” 

A favor? Not the response he was expecting. A smile graced his brother’s tired features, something he hadn’t seen in awhile. It was nice and reminded him of times when it wasn’t such a rare sight. Though the smile also brought about confusion in Kuro; what sort of favor was Shiro asking for?

“Yeah, of course. What do you need?” If it meant he could help he’d do anything for his brother.
