Transcription of the writing on the slab:

To be an idol is to be cursed,

cursed to a life on a pedestal, a plinth

which was built to hold

something grand. Not me.

I do not envy God.

I’ve stood on that plinth of

smooth marble stone, alone,

your hands reaching up to me,

begging, praying, demanding.

I do not envy God.

The confession booth is a prison

of my own making. I sit with you

as the world moves on without us.

But I cannot forgive you.

Art school dump! The video is a wip of my final project for one of my classes, it hasn’t been fully glazed and fired just yet

so like I’ve been an illustrator for years and when I got into art school I was planning on going into an illustration major right

halfway through my foundation year (the first year of many art schools where you don’t pick a major and do more general artistic studies) I had a professor and alumni who told us that he had been an illustrator, always considered himself a drawer, but going through the illustration major sucked all that passion out of him. now he does other forms of art (and he’s a wonderful artist!). But I saw myself in him. I realized that if I went through with my illustration major, I would lose that passion for drawing. I don’t like being told what to draw, or following guidelines when drawing (unless I’m getting paid LOL) It’s just not for me!

In the same semester I had this realization, I took a ceramic handbuilding class and I fell in love with the medium. There’s something about clay that drew me in. I’ve spent upwards of 16 hours in the school’s clay studio with only a single one hour break for lunch without tiring, it’s like a trance. I love to draw, but I have to take frequent breaks when illustrating. I just can’t work like that anywhere else

Anyway all this to say, I switched majors into ceramics! I still do plenty of illustration on the side, but most of my work while in school is ceramic

TL;DR: I wanna start posting again but I changed majors to ceramics so there’s probably gonna be a lot of ceramic art being posted here as well as illustrations

Look at my ocs boy
