More dentist thoughts!

A few good ways I’ve found to avoid the general feelings of “Wow this is fucking horrible I want this to end” are

1. Brush your fucking teeth

2. Floss motherfucker

3. Stop eating so much sugar you bafoon

4. That includes drinks as well asshole

5. Listen to what you dentist tells you to do for gods sake how are people this fucking dumb

And while those 5 are all well and good for preventing the horrific experience from happening in the first place we must consider the fact that I can’t read so they are completely useless to me. In that case I have found a fool proof way of forgetting about the torture happening in your maw! First you gotta make sure you are as ignorant as possible of anything to do with dentistry and considering you’re even at the dentist I will just assume you are. When that is assured while your teeth are getting molested by a whole smörgåsbord of contraptions try and figure out what the fuck your dentist is doing to you. Don’t ask questions just feel the weird stuff in your mouth and investigate through all your senses.

This should keep your mind distracted from the terror that is dentistry and distracted from your gastrointestinal issues caused by your breakfast of choco cereal with milk knowing damn well that you are lactose intolerant.

Today I had a root canal done, or more accurately, I had it finished. Due to my poor dental hygiene I have become rather used to dentist appointments and subsequently have I become quite accustomed to them shoving strange appliances in my mouth, whether it be a drill a saw or just some weird goop, I thought that nothing could surprise me.

While I was spacing out thinking about all sorts or wretched things as my mouth was being manhandled by rubber gloved hands, the dentist had stuck some metal rod into my tooth. Now that wasn’t particularly strange, I barely felt it come in and I sure as hell could not feel it’s presence, however the Dentist then pulled out another tool, one I had not seen before. Now, it looked just like any other tool of dentistry being particularly similar to one of the tools that shoot water and at first, when she stuck it into my open maw, I thought nothing of it, but then, after feeling nothing happening, something started rising from my mouth, smoke.

To say I was startled would be an overstatement, but I must say that having what amounts to a glorified miniature welding torch be shoved in my mouth was not something I was prepared for. I did not react, lest I interrupt the delicate ritual that is a root canal, so I simply sat there as the smell of burnt tooth rose into my nostrils, a harrowing experience to say the least.

Two jpegs of Arquius sit idly in my phone’s photo album, a phone I’ve only had since 2018 and who’s sim card is just as young. Yet here lie two innocent seeming pictures, dated to a specific day, a specific time.

These cursed photos aren’t recent, they’ve been on this phone for as long as I can muster the memory.
