She’s kind of meant to be the opposite of Regulus; in background, culture, and personality. ( Street smart vs Book smart ).

She was considered the black sheep of her village for not really conforming to cultural, gender, or religious expectations/norms. Elders often described her as rebellious, combative, and even promiscuous. But her mother affectionately called her Papicha (بابيشة), an Algerian slang for “a pretty girl who likes pretty things”.

Lore-wise, she’s actually the one who taught Regulus how to hunt (with a charmed rifle) and taught him a lot of survival skills that later helped him while he was on the run during the war.

Even if it wasn’t intentional, I’m honestly so happy to see similarities between Latvian culture and mine!

I didn’t expect some of the symbols to overlap, since Alphie’s are based on Indigenous North African designs, like these ones, for example:

Even though the symbol on his chest isn’t meant to represent the sun, I think the Latvian interpretation is even more symbolic and romantic, especially since he sees Harry as a kind of sun figure 🥺, so it fits perfectly in his heart ❤️🫶

It was such a joy for me too to learn this! Especially since I’m not super familiar with traditional ornaments outside of African cultures 🥹 Thank you for sharing this with me!

So it’s a family-centric AU focusing on Sirius during the summer before he’s disowned. His sister (Regulus’ twin) comes back from France after years away due to health issues.

Walburga’s kinda controlling and obsessive about her daughter (for legitimate reasons), and Sirius barely knows his sister, but still tries to bond with her and maybe show her a bit of life outside all that.

It’s a quiet, spooky little deep dive into the house of Black and its obsession with purity, power, and appearances 😔🙏 It’s also canon compliant, so we know mostly how it ends.

Awww hi sweetheart! ❤️❤️ That’s definitely not a stupid question!

Regulus actually spends a lot of time doing fun things with Alphie, (kind of ironic, considering how little time he spent with Sirius). They play music together (Alphie even secretly composed pieces on the violin thinking about Harry), love horseback riding, reading, Quidditch, and more. Regulus even makes an effort to explore Muggle stuff for Alphie, who’s naturally drawn to it.

As for Regulus and Alphie’s mother… well, let’s just say they met in a very conservative, rural setting in the 70s Egypt where “dating” wasn’t really a thing. Think Bridgerton, but stricter. So yes, lots of stolen moments and secret kisses.

When Alphie was little, not having his mother around didn’t hit too hard. But as he got older, he started struggling more with it. Regulus, bound by an unbreakable vow, can’t tell him much, but he subtly encourages Alphie to search for answers. The problem is, there’s very little left of her: just the old rifle and a childhood photo Alphie eventually finds… and mistakes for a hidden little brother, which leads to a big fight between Regulus and him.

So yeah… that’s kind of the vibe!

Most of the time, I just have self-indulgent ideas where I want to explore a specific theme or focus on certain characters.

I know the Alphie AU is probably my biggest one so far (the one with the most developed lore) but yes, I do have other AUs in mind. I’m just not sure when (or if) they’ll see the light of day, since I try not to overwhelm myself to avoid burning out completely!

Here are a few I’ve been toying with:

Beastars AU (Remus-centric; I’m still torn between Moonchaser and Wolfstar)

Attack on Titan AU (Marauders-centric, very angsty)

Soul Eater AU (assigning who’s the weapon and who’s the Meister among different pairs)

What if Sirius and Regulus had a sister? (A really tragic Walburga/sister/Sirius-centric, canon-compliant, and probably no major ships)

What if Barty met a time-traveling guy from 1830 in the Caucasus mountains? (I know it’s wtf but the idea is really funny)

The two Hogwarts Legacy girlies (I haven’t played the game much because I don’t own it, but I had this idea of Headmaster Phineas Black having a daughter who’s really gay for the other girl)

GOT/HoTD AU (mostly because of the dragons, I wanted to headcanon which character would bond with which dragon and make art about it)

Of course, I have even more AUs floating around in my head, but it might take a while before any of them make it into my upcoming posts 😔🫶💕

I have a question regarding Alphie's name: So, obviously his first name comes from Uncle Alphard (love him) and then his middle name comes from Great-Uncle Marius (a squib). What was your (well, technically Regulus's lol) reason for naming him after two "disgraced" members of the family instead of giving him a name that held no significance to the family Regulus wanted to distance himself from?

Also, I know you haven't revealed anything about Alphie's birth, but did the mother have any role in naming him, or did Regulus just kinda take the kid and run?

Hey!! It’s actually such a nice question 🫶💕

Regulus named his son Alphard because his uncle was by his side throughout his time in Egypt, along with the “lawyer friend” (who, let’s be honest, is clearly more than just a friend LOL).

By naming his son after two disowned figures, Regulus shows that he’s still attached to his house, its power, prestige, and bloodline, but he also wants to reshape its foundations, almost like a “fuck you” to some of his ancestors. For example, he officially removed the “Toujours Pur” from the Black family seal, a move that caused a lot of controversy among the Sacred 28.

Unlike Sirius, who wants nothing to do with the House of Black, Regulus wants to reclaim it and transform it, like a kind of rebranding of his legacy, to push for change in wizarding society. That’s partly why he even took his mother to court over the family inheritance.

As for Alphie’s mother, she agreed to the name. Alphard is also the Arabic name of a constellation, which she appreciated, and she got along well with her uncle-in-law. She let Regulus choose the names for the first born, assuming she’d eventually name one of the next future kids herself (she was aiming for a Quidditch team 🤡). Which never happened oops

And don’t worry, Alphie’s mother is from Egypt, which makes him half-Egyptian 🤔 White passing though

I chose Egypt because I’m a fellow North African too (from a neighboring country), and I actually lived in Egypt for a few months. My time there remains a sweet memory, and I felt comfortable enough to portray a culture I feel connected to, especially the Imazighen minority living there!

The initial reason I gave Alphie North African roots was because I really wanted to explore the magic and wizarding world of that region, something I’ve never seen portrayed before. I also needed Regulus to be out of the country for a while, to explain his absence and to dive deeper into his uncle Alphard’s lore ( I headcanon living in a foreign country ).

Regulus’ efforts to keep his son connected to his roots come from the fact that I see him as someone still conflictually attached to his family heritage, though still wanting to break harmful cycles, which contrasts with Sirius’ character.

It’s 1980, the wizarding war is still ongoing, and Sirius is facing his brother, whom he thought dead for over a year, with a baby and ready to shoot him with a rifle.

Oh I can tell you who they are (and maybe even sketch them someday)!

In England: Lavender Brown.

They briefly dated (mostly for fun and lowkey fake dating) to annoy Ron Weasley, who dumped her "unfairly", justice for Lavender!/hj. (I love Ron, Alphie doesn’t though 😔). They were kinda the “it” couple, total party magnets. Also, it’s hilarious they both have color last names.

In France: One of Fleur Delacour’s part-Veela cousins (let’s call her Laure).

They had an on-and-off thing since the 1994 Triwizard Tournament. Very messy, very toxic. She sometimes sends him Howlers and roasts him in French in front of the entire Great Hall. But hey… they looked good together, I guess 😔

In Egypt: A very rich girl named Hind.

They’d meet in the summer in Sharm El-Sheikh (basically Egypt’s LA/Miami). She’s in it only for fun (non-exclusive ofc), because she fully plans to marry a Khaleeji prince someday, as she should!

Alphie ends up kinda single around Christmas though…
