For a lot of time, I tried to find a meaning behind my depression. The "Every cloud has a silver lining" meaning. I tried to find something full of life in something that made me want to kill myself every fucking day but I couldn't. But with time, I realised that the dark cloud indeed had a silver lining. Going through something like that made me a person full of love, warmth and kindness. I learnt that life is as much about the big joys as the small ones. That A grade assignment I worked on for weeks made me as happy as my favourite pastry. I learnt how to be there for people. But I also learnt how to be there for myself first. It may be different for others but fot me, knowing that I could survive all the thunder and storms of the dark cloud and still have silver outlined warmth and kindness inside makes me believe in the world again.
