I'm too scared to read it bc what if I read it and it peaks and that's it, nothing will ever surpass lol... like when I finally read The Beating of This Fragile Heart omg. and it was... incredible

okay the scene by the pool is fucking AMAZING ahahaha. I enjoyed that part a lot. (I do warn that the fic gets... stressful after that lol)

Severus and the wizarding world have changed in the intervening years, and Severus must learn to reconcile himself to both, whilst coming to understand the men he and Harry now are.

This one is just... lovely, yo?? IDK what it is about gingertart that just strikes me with this lovely sense of beauty... well. I suppose I like some other works even more, but gingertart deserves more attention than they get imo (especially for fics that aren't Getting Familiar)

The Wizarding World is unforgiving of adultery and Harry is very concerned for his best friend, as Hermione risks her career and family when an Unfathomable tempts her away from Ron. But why is Harry's memory playing tricks on him, and what of Harry's own reputation? The clues lead him to the Avalon Inn in Knockturn Alley and what he finds there will turn his world upside down. this one hurt, but it was hauntingly beautiful?? and I never hear anyone talk about it. (unhappy ending)

Shadows crawl across Hogwarts, and Severus Snape crawls into Harry Potter's bed. a bit dubcon but... is it really? wwww... anyway, this was eeppiiiic. and I need more coup de'tat over Voldemort Snape!!! aaahh!!

Dumbledore orders Harry and Snape to decipher Slytherin's Manuscript, but Harry doesn't trust Dumbledore anymore. Will Harry and Snape finally get along? And what does the Grail have to do with it? Sirius is alive! What will he do when he finds out about Snape and Harry? Will Harry, Snape, Sirius, Remus and their friends be able to work together and destroy the horcruxes? this one is from 2005, omg. but I suspect people never really got that far because part 1 isn't as strong as part 2—in any case, Baphomet II's version of Snarry-Wolfstar horcrux hunting is better than Deathly Hallow's, imo, and I LOVE Snarry's combined patronus. This one isn't mentioned as much, but it's a good read. 👌 I doubt it'll be continued, but I figured everyone and their mother would recommend Mirror of Maybe for this one lol.

AUctoberfest prompt 2024-232: The Prince family has a different sort of inheritance, the secret to their success: When they come of age, members are taught the Second Chance spell. One chance to go back in time and fix things.

I find this a particularly cool time travel fic as it tackles not just one but TWO ongoing timelines. Like there are just some cool ass themes going on there.

Harry/Tom Riddle

The three Unforgivable Curses were classified as such because they work differently than other dark curses. There's dark and then there's Dark. As soul magic, the kind that leaves an unavoidable taint on the soul of the victim and caster both, the Unforgivables fell into the latter category. Perhaps if more people had remembered that the Killing Curse wasn’t the same as any other dark curse they wouldn’t have been surprised by Harry Potter when he returned to the Wizarding World. As it was, nobody – not even the vaunted Albus Dumbledore, who really should have known better – was prepared for what the Killing Curse had activated in young Harry. In which Harry loves Death, lusts after Voldemort, and wants everyone else to leave him alone with his skeletons.
