Week12_Compulsory Question 2
Being a designer is a specialized profession where personal growth and output are directly linked. Because of this, designers have the opportunity to improve and develop their skills with each project, and unlike a regular office job, the work you produce can become your portfolio.
Designing for brands, in particular, has given me a deeper understanding of the power of design. Thinking about how to visually represent the message and values that a brand wants to convey, beyond just a “pretty logo” or “classy packaging,” I realized how important design is in creating a unique identity for each brand.
In my branding class, I designed a brand called “Underwater” and had to think about how to visually convey the brand's “clear, cool image that protects the water,” and in the process, I realized how important it is to pay attention to the details of the design so that the brand's identity can be conveyed consistently across different mediums.
So, another important aspectof design is technology. Modern design is closely tied to technology, and how well you can utilize it defines your skills as a designer. For example, it's essential to not only utilize different software and tools appropriately, but also to be able to effectively transform and adapt the design for each medium. For my underwater brand, I utilized a variety of digital tools to maintain design consistency and ensure that the design was appropriate for the target audience while considering how it would look on a website or social media.
Because of that, a design portfolio is more than just a collection of work. It's a vessel for all of my creativity, skills, and philosophy. After each project, I will reflect on how much I've grown and consider how to reflect that experience in my portfolio. In the end, I think this process creates my own unique style and approach, which is an important reference point for me to continue to move forward as a designer.
My vision is to continue to build my portfolio in every design job I can as a designer. I enjoy the challenge of each job and want to find ways to make a positive impact on the world through my designs. I think it's important to not just see design as a “job” and get it done, but to find my own voice in the process and reflect my perspective on society and culture. With branding, I want to make sure that the work I create communicates the brand's philosophy and ultimately inspires people.

Week11_Compulsory Question 1
In this week's CTSB class, our group created a group manifesto to reflect on the qualities we need to have in order to grow as “designers who see the world.” In my opinion, good design is one that solves problems and is easy to use. In other words, the most important quality of a designer is the ability to solve problems. Whether it is a product, digital, or space, if there is even the slightest discomfort in using it, it cannot be considered good design. This is because I believe that even if something looks “aesthetically pleasing” on the surface, but causes discomfort in use, it cannot be considered truly well-designed. A design must go beyond mere decoration; it should enhance the user's experience and meet their needs.
The foundation of this problem-solving ability, I believe, begins with empathy—understanding the struggles of the people we are designing for, and by extension, even the challenges faced by the opposing side. “Our work emerges from thoughtful exploration, influenced by others, as we keep improving on our goal to connect with the world around us." This is the sentence that I would pick as my core value as a designer. I think that this should be the way designers see the world—not just as creators of things, but as problem-solvers who seek to understand and address the needs and concerns of others.
Especially in my Digital Skills class, working on the app site itself reminded me of the true importance of our group's manifesto. For instance, I steer clear of overly gaudy hues, maintain uniform fonts and font sizes, and ensure the overall design stays coherent. These are not just aesthetic choices; they are thoughtful decisions made with the user in mind. This constantly reminds me that in every color scheme, row, and column, readability and user-friendliness must come first. Every detail should be intentional, ensuring that users can interact with the design effortlessly and intuitively. A truly good design doesn’t just look nice—it works seamlessly, offering clarity, ease, and accessibility, all of which are essential for solving the real problems people face. By approaching design this way, we can create meaningful solutions that improve the experience of those who interact with our work. Every thoughtful choice we make can help eliminate frustrations and create a more intuitive, user-centered experience. In the end, I think design is not about impressing others with complexity, but about making the world simpler, more accessible, and more enjoyable for everyone.

Week6_Critical Self-Reflectivity
In today's CTSB class, we went to OG department store near 'SIMLIM square' and did an activity where we had to identify the problems with the design elements that we wanted to fix.
So, what I found was a waist-high glass wallet display case on the first floor of a department store. I don't think the solution is to change the display itself, as it may not be in the store's financial interest to have an expensive display case. However, I'm not a fan of the edges of this display, which are made up of four glass plates joined together. If each of the 12 borders that make up this display had a glass finish, using a very light blue or white bond with a transparent feel, the display itself would have looked more luxurious and the luxury purses inside the display would have visually increased in value. The other thing that bothered me was that the products on the shelves were luxury goods. Even if it is second-hand, it have to feel more expensive, that is an expected roles necessity for the surrounding design elements. But the color of this bond makes me feel like I've lowered the face value of my wallet.
Like this, what I learned from today's lecture, that design and meeting customer needs are very closely related in any market, as design contributes a lot to the consumption of a product.

Week4~5_Field Trip + Analyse Artistic Traditions & Lineages
Art, especially painting, is having a history of documentation. It is because, the days before photography, paintings captured and recorded a scene in time. After the development of photography, painters went through a period of confusion about their own reason of existence, but in the end, they are now recognized as two distinct disciplines.
The topic of the essay I want to talk about in this week's lesson is “Art that humans give meaning”
There is crowd that goes crazy watching a 100 meter run. In today's era of artificial intelligence, there is no need for humans to try to run faster than machines, knowing that if a human and a car run at the same time, the human will lose.  So, humans compete with each other, giving meaning to it, giving awards to whoever runs the fastest 100 meters, giving them a lifetime pension, and giving them media exposure as someone who has raised the status of the country as well.
This human meaning-making is a way for humans to live with machines, not compete with them, and continue their Economic activity. Therefore, no matter how much the times change, the value of museums will never change. Only humans can know the value of museums, and only humans can create them. And the reason is that art galleries are the places where we can best realize the diverse life values of each individual human being.
Therefore, we should visit the gallery. It is a space where only one human being, sometimes showing history, sometimes making personal fantasies visible.

Week 1_Creative Practice and Critical Thinking
What does discussing beauty mean? Is aesthetics a factor? Or is it about anything that serves as a substance to satisfy our want for recognition and display? In any case, I believe it would be far more obvious to view beauty as a commercial component rather than as an academic field that belongs with the humanities.
This is because beauty had fashion of developed, managed by the ruling class of the society. Therefore, beauty has a very large social meaning that it can define the cultural atmosphere of a certain community and is the main driver of this trend, having the power to determine ugliness and beauty while creating trends.
That's Characterizing trends of material said beauty promotes the idea that preventing and controlling human skin ageing is a superior condition for individuals. This is even more so in the information age, where it is easy to not recognize human ageing as a natural process of growth and to make the elderly a backward part of society.
Therefore, my final point is that, regardless of how beneficial or detrimental they may be to people's lives, we should never forget that the cosmetic ads of fair-skinned models that are promoted in the media, the white and clear skin displayed on social media, etc., are merely business tactics.  Also, as an individual majoring in the arts, I would reflect on the need for us to have a sense of duty to not incite negative influences when it comes to the impact of new trends on society and the individuals who will be swept up in them.

WOIl Summary
I understand that the ability to develop and broaden their intellectual thought in order to address a variety of subjects is also one of the most important qualities of an artist. Especially in design, you have to understand the psychology of the public and center your commercial art around their needs. Therefore, it was very unique that I had the time to explore these philosophical ideas through WOII classes.

Week11_Postmodernism
I've been thinking about why art history has always had certain dominant trends over the course of history. I think it's because the main forces instigating trends to the public have always been the powerful people of each era, and they have always tried to dictate the definition of 'what is good art'. This recognition and acceptance of individual diversity is perhaps the biggest difference between modern artistic thought compared to the past, and the most important aspect of art today. Therefore, I would like to talk about this movement and theory: postmodernism.
I would like to mention that the beginning of postmodernism marked the end of the 'wielding of power' and the use of 'art as a tool to consolidate authority' by a small group of powerful people who defined art. I would also like to present a postmodern artwork called The Fountain as evidence of this new 'zeitgeist of art'. The main reason why this object, which is nothing more than an actual urinal, was given the function of an artwork was because it broke the boundaries of art. In particular, I believe that the Craft course, which we have covered throughout this second semester, has covered the most important pillars of future design trends: The activity in Craft Project 1 was to visualise a scene from a specific poem, and the activity in Project 4 was to visualise memories to create a montage, and the main similarity between the two activities was that they produced two-dimensional artworks characterised by 'postmodernism'. This gave me a better understanding of the definition and nature of postmodernism, and why it is important for me as a designer to address this theory when creating work in the modern era. The reason I found was that as an artist who creates art that arises from a sense of privilege, I was wary of hypocritical attitudes towards the non-specialist public when designing.

Week10_Poststructuralism
I think understanding post-structuralism is very helpful and relevant to understanding contemporary art. I think that the attitude of trying to distinguish between what is art and what is not art is an outdated value that I personally should avoid having as an artist. Marcel Duchamp's <Fountain> is an important work that can support this idea, as it was able to be recognized as art for its body of work. As Wendy Warhol, a representative artist of contemporary art and a pioneer of pop art, demonstrates in his <Brillobox>, the distinction between real and fake becomes irrelevant (='breaking down the boundaries of art'), and this thinking, together with the philosophy of post-structuralism, explains where to place the value of a work as art with the keyword of 'flexibility' in thinking.
And it is precisely this post-structuralism that gives rise to the "flexibility" that I consider to be the most important attitude to evaluate the value of art today. To see the combination of signifier and signified as accidental, the only way to connect them is to find the difference between them and to delay in this process. It is in this process that a work of art is endowed with symbolism on its own, and it is all done through 'flexibility'.
It is my position to think that this process should be applied to all processes in which an artist perceives and decides something.

Week 04~05
What I want to talk about in this post is the changing trends in art, where the distinction between art and design is becoming more and more blurred. I'm going to talk about why this is becoming one of the biggest trends of our time.
The first and foremost reason is that people's lifestyles, including food, clothing, shelter, hobbies, and directions of thought, are all more abundant than ever before. And I attribute this 'lifestyle richness' to the fact that spatial activity is less constrained than in the past. The rationale for this is that in the modern era, with the advent of mobile phones, people's spheres of movement have expanded, giving them more choices, and there is a deeper 'craving for experiences' among the public. I think the reason for this is that there are more beautiful cafes that can be posted on social media than in the past.
'Opportunities of business' arise from the unmet needs and desires of people's lives. In the past, the core of retail was the quality of the product and the location of the dealer, but today, just by looking at the pop-up stores and the increased value of F&B, it can be seen that the public considers the 'richness' and 'uniqueness' to be the most important aspects of consumption and wants to fulfill them more. When I say consumption, I am referring to both time, energy, and money, which means that the separation of production and branding has become important. My position of separation here is not that the activities of 'production' are excluded; it's that we need to look at 'production' and 'branding' as separate areas and think more deeply about the importance of branding activities. Therefore, I predict that art and design will now move towards a focus on branding that is separate from production.

Week 02_Aesthetics
To explore the nature of beauty from an artistic point of view, I think, is the same as exploring the so-called 'mood' we call 'emotion', because it is an exploration of an unknown, vague and uncharted territory without substance. However, the only tangible element of beauty that I have found is the 'rules'.
The criteria for defining beauty may vary depending on the individual's taste, but I think that if we find something visually beautiful, there must be a 'rule' behind it. When I say 'rules', I mean the 'layout' or 'pattern' that must exist whether we visually recognise it or not. And I think this is what is mainly covered in the lectures of the first-year major course I am studying. In my opinion, the rules are visually apparent as a result of neatness, colour harmony, etc. and are especially valuable in the field of design because the most important function of design is readability.
Understanding and delving into the sense of beauty is, after all, the same thing as understanding the emotional realm, and understanding emotions can play an important role in the process of human understanding. From this perspective, I realized that aesthetics is one of the most helpful disciplines in the process of understanding human beings, and this thought from this lecture has become one of my biggest motivators to design.

Week 01_Phenomenology
As it is today, in the past, more and more, the raw materials for color were mostly obtained from nature, such as flowers and fruits. In the process, color is used as ink to paint and create art. In other words, in addition to the inherent function of objects, humans use objects as tools for art. What I'm trying to say here is that everything in the world can be a source of art, a material, a tool, or an art in itself, depending on the capabilities of the artist, and that's why when we look at a phenomenon, we need to expand our thinking a little bit and look at the object that has the phenomenon along with the phenomenon.
In my Craft Project 3 class, we made fonts, and in the process, we designed and explored different types of letters using a variety of tools. In the process, we experienced the process of taking existing objects and recreating them into new images, like sticking a straw through an eraser or dipping a piece of string in ink and swirling it around on paper. I think this was an act that allowed me to see things in a new way through the expansion of my vision. I also came to think about the idea of 'ideas' and the fact that when we 'imagine', we often think of something whimsical that has never existed before, but in fact, many of the prerequisites that underlie them already exist in the world.

week12
In the past, I wanted to be a designer who, by handling colors well, produced videos or visual objects that could deliver visual stimuli, senses, and emotions to viewers or consumers who consumed my work as I intended. And now, I want to be a department store MD who can handle this well and create various spaces.
Personally, I like the Hyundai Department Store located at COEX. So my current goal is to work there. In the case of this department store in Korea, it has various cultural complex facilities encompassing age and gender, luxury galleries, exhibition halls, and food courts, and a new pop-up store is held every month. As various events are held every time, the space composition for each section is unique, and I think it is a big feature that gives a sophisticated and comfortable feeling.
Color is the atmosphere, and I think it has the power to capture many stories in a specific space. This is because the theme, temperature, and atmosphere can all have an effect that feels different depending on the color. So, when I usually study design or do assignments, I tend to devote a lot of energy to color harmony.
And right here, I got a lot of help from the critical thinking class. I studied color and participated in a class related to color combination during the last five weeks of the studio class. At this time, I learned how to organize and list information while analyzing and collecting data and how to make it visually effective to offer information.
In that respect, "digital media_art documents" have helped a lot personally. In particular, I was often lacking in data collection and organization, and as a result of taking critical thinking classes, I was able to get a lot of help when making CPJ, as well as 'research frame' and 'artist research' more well.

week11
There is one psychological concept we learned together while studying this week's Critical Thinking class: "emotion work." The word, which means "all efforts to manage one's emotions or maintain a relationship," is a way to solve problems when conflicts arise, talking about the ability to psychologically manage one's emotions and conditions without impulsiveness. And I believe that my growth mindset can be carried out through these personal emotional tasks.
The psychological pressure I usually experienced while conducting STUDIO class assignments was quite large. The reason is that I am not as good at scissors as others, so if I had to proceed with cutting the paper or if I had to proceed with the task manually without working digitally, it would take too long compared to others, and I couldn't finish it all at a fixed time, so I had to continue at home or work again from scratch. I think critical classes have helped me a lot in solving the difficulties that come from the pressing emotions I had to deal with at this time.
In addition to the critical thinking we did this week, all of this week's CTS topics provided a good complementary guide to overcoming difficulties in carrying out assignments and participating in classes. But to pick one thing, I'd like to mention Digital Media _documentation of art, which I did in week 9. I usually lacked the habit of collecting and organizing information or data well. So I had a habit of losing data because I couldn't organize it right away. However, through the "Digital Media_documentation of art," I made a good habit of researching, organizing, and filing data that I collected for a task. In particular, when researching artists, it helped me a lot in my growth as a personal designer by collecting, researching, and organizing complex and diverse information at once.

week10
Through this activity, I learned that every state's class has an important keyword that each of them wants to convey to us, and none of it is important.
First, boat means 'collaborative skill'. Personally, I think the most important thing in collaborative skills is 'communication'. And "contribution" and "open mind" will also be decisive factors in communication with the other party. So I believe that, as a result, this factor will be the fastest way to compromise.
On the other hand, when they shared opinions together and faced conflict situations caused by disagreements, the conflict resolution situation was compared to a calm sea where a ship was floating. The reason was that we could repeat conflict and conflict resolution constantly during the meeting, and this process of repetition, which is inevitable, was to express that we had to get used to it enough to be considered part of the process of the meeting.
Third, emotional intelligence was likened to the sail of the sea. The term "emotional intelligence" in psychology refers to the capacity to identify one's own and others' emotions and to respond to them appropriately. I compared the center of the mind to a sail, for the reason that the mental center must be in harmony.
The fourth is the ground in the picture that connects to the sea, which expresses the "growth mindset". In my opinion, the most important condition for achieving a growth mindset is "accepting my failure and stain." If anyone has the sense of challenge and courage to recognize what I lack every time and take time to think about the reasons for the shortage and ways to improve it, regardless of who it is, his growth mindset is sure to continue with new growth.
Fifth, Facts, Reliable Sources and Filing is compared to the lights sent by lighthouses. When we think critically, Facts, Reliable Sources, and Filming are the most important because, above all else, you have to be a convincing argument to yourself.
Finally, the main body of the lighthouse was compared to the documentation of art, that is, the evidence necessary for critical thinking.

week5
In this week's 'critical thinking skill', I worked on designing the logo with my right hand. And I'm left-handed. So, when you draw the logo, the line twists and turns unwantedly, or the figure was drawn at an unintended angle. In the first attempt, that point was very frustrating, and the continuous failures were upsetting. However, out-of-the-way figures and crooked lines have been a pretty good source of ideas for me as a result.
What I realized at this time was the consequences that I dismissed as failures at the time may not be part of the final consequences of my life or just a process. And whether to put the failures that have occurred in my life as a process or as a result will depend on my attitude toward my life.
Personally, I liked the picture on the far left the most. There is no character, so it is concise and the number 1 gives a stress. Also, the number '7' is relatively lower in saturation than the number '1', so it is similar in size to the number 1, but all three numbers are not noticeable or none of them are buried. On the other hand, in the case of the picture on the far right, the number of letters is too large, so it seems likely that the decipherability may decrease and it is difficult to give a neat feeling.

Week3
When I considered about me, I am quite higher a degree of understanding on me. So, at the relationship of people, I can tend to decide quickly for harmonized with others, about how can I react or behave or think and receiving. And at that the point, I am seeing that is corresponded of Self-awareness about me. Though it is just my processing, I consider that a person who can know about my self well, can know about others well also.
Whereas, this is my weakness, as I'm vulnerable at the instantly entertainment, I think I'm lack of my ability of time's Self-management. So, I'm sometimes hard to decide time to go home when I stay with my friend and when I have a task, I feel difficult to turn my sight into my work quickly.
For solve of this my personal problem, I when I receive some task, I'm trying to make a plan to do work at the fixed day without delay. I'm still difficult to keep this plan yet but, I'm planning more feasible than former, increasingly, and I'm dong it.

Week2
When I thought about my personality as collaborator, I'm flexible person. So, the biggest strengths of it is my receptive capacity. And, especially, while I putting on a situation, like group project, I am good at finding a point of comprise between me and someone else's want, quickly. Moreover, when I do group project, I tend to regard more important to reflex the group member's various opinions, even sometimes, more than quality of work. So, I think I am suffered from difficult to argue my thought to counterpart till the end, sometimes. Thus, I think when I feel necessity about my more a strong insistence, for a nice output of some project, it is important to remember that sometimes there may be something more important than rectify my thoughts easily to me.
I consider that if our group have to make some real art-work of it, the design have lacked the value of monument as art. Although she is excellent singer and entertainment, for someone who not knowing her, mentioning her career and the field is important I think. And that point will make higher the value of the art. Because I see that the value of art is revealed a lot when the others are get to know the work's meaning. I will add more the elements that well-revealed by her activities in her field if I had more time and an unlimited budget I could make.
