Currently debating rereading Keepers of the Lost City because i want to see my strawberryblond gremlin child crime lord again, but also I dont want to bc my feelings about this series are very very very very Very complicated.

I have never ever felt more attached to a fictional character than Dex Dizznee, and I am angry about it, because WHAT THE HECK AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THESE FEELINGS? I DO NOT WANT TO CARE ABOUT KOTLC ANYMORE BUT I LOVE THIS BOY TOO MUCH TO NOT.

I've been thinking about him unpromted for nearly four years, but I can't for the life of myself pick up the books again, due to how my boy was treated after a certain point. I stopped caring about the books once Dex got pushed aside after the kiss thing and the crown thing and a classic case of Too-Many-Characters and various other reasons i cannot remember because I have not read the books in a while, and I stopped around book 7ish. ( i think, i dont really remember)

Should i reread the books? For my boy? Do things improve for him? DOES HE BECOME RELEVENT AGAIN??? DOES THE AUTHOR REMEMBER HE EXISTS?

trying to start writing again. writing is hard. does anyone on here have any advice on how to just get bloody started? i'm mainly interested (at the moment) on writing dark, queer fantasy. i haven't written in YEARS but i used to do it a lot. need a kick up the arse, truth be told...

Was wishing there was a positivity post for original fiction writers since I see so many about how fanfic writers are doing so much for their communities even when they're not actively writing, and then I thought:

Be the change you want to see in the world.

So this is a positivity post for the writers out here who are working very hard on stories with no established community. Who can't talk about their blorbos and plot lines and brainstorming to anyone and expect them to know what any of it means. Who don't have much to share publicly, but are hoping they will one day.

You're doing a lot of hard work, and I recognize and appreciate what you're putting into the world, even when you're resting.
