Ive seen most people on twitter saying they do not want to wait until season 9 or 10 for Buddie to get together. So that made me curious
Let the people know your thought processes if you would like. I would like to know the thought processes :)

Scenario:
You're reading a long fanfic that is tagged with one of your favourite ships, so clearly that's why you're there, reading the 30 chapters with 150K words in total.
The main couple are not together yet and the ship is tagged with "slow burn" so you expect it's going to take a while
One of characters from the main couple start dating another character for a chapter, or maybe two. It's not a big part of the story, and it's very clearly meant as an aside.
Do you expect that other pairing to be tagged?

His head lolls to the right, and he catches sight of the one of those people who won't do the poses like everyone else. The kid who’s been doing everything out of sync with the rest of the yoga class, isn’t lying like the rest. No, he’s turned towards Derek, lying on his side, his knees together and pulled up towards his chest, a heavily tattooed arm outstretched straight from his shoulders in both directions, like he’s still stuck in the windshield wiper pose they did earlier. Their eyes meet. - Or Cora drags Derek to a yoga class. Derek meets Stiles. Derek has a lot of issues and he does NOT want a boyfriend, okay?

Pro-writing tip: if your story doesn't need a number, don't put a fucking number in it.
Nothing, I mean nothing, activates reader pedantry like a number.
I have seen it a thousand times in writing workshops. People just can't resist nitpicking a number. For example, "This scifi story takes place 200 years in the future and they have faster than light travel because it's plot convenient," will immediately drag every armchair scientist out of the woodwork to say why there's no way that technology would exist in only 200 years.
Dates, ages, math, spans of time, I don't know what it is but the second a specific number shows up, your reader is thinking, and they're thinking critically but it's about whether that information is correct. They are now doing the math and have gone off drawing conclusions and getting distracted from your story or worse, putting it down entirely because umm, that sword could not have existed in that Medieval year, or this character couldn't be this old because it means they were an infant when this other story event happened that they're supposed to know about, or these two events now overlap in the timeline, or... etc etc etc.
Unless you are 1000% certain that a specific number is adding to your narrative, and you know rock-solid, backwards and forwards that the information attached to that number is correct and consistent throughout the entire story, do yourself a favor, and don't bring that evil down upon your head.

That line was written by coffee addicts, clearly.
Zuko was wrong, actually. (I think.maybe.) Because juice, like, comes from the moisture in thing thing and then you remove the non-liquid bits, whereas in (most?) tea, you infuse the leaves with water instead of relying on the inherent water. True hot leaf juice would be if you extracted liquid from a couple leaves and heated it up, which would be expensive and probably bitter but a fun way to do it

This is for anyone who thinks they need to spam tag on AO3 for "reach". This was my daily kudos e-mail:
Tumblr media
Sure, some of those are the same people, most like those "guests" are just one or two people, but my point is this:
All of these fics are over a year old. Some of them are almost two. I have done nothing lately to funnel hits to these fics. I haven't posted anything new in a while, I haven't blogged about them etc. They're in different fandoms, they're for a few different ships etc.
People found them.
They found them because they have the appropriate tags that the people who might want to read them would search AO3 tags for.
I still get kudos and comments for fics I wrote years ago. People will find them. The right people will find them. Chill out and stop spamming the tags.

Zuko saying that his father would never allow his men hiding among people and betraying them.
Meanwhile, at the beginning of the same episode we saw that Ozai sent Azula to spy on the rebels.
My boy Zuko, your father doesn't have an ounce of honor.

AO3 Comments are SO SO SOOOOOOO important because you can only leave Kudos ONCE. You add to the hit count ONCE (every 24 hours).
So whenever someone updates their fic, the ONLY way an author knows who their regular readers are is if they comment on each chapter. And we WANT to know who's still reading.
Believe it or not, some of us think about the name that pops up constantly in the comments and go "omg I can't wait to see what they think of THIS SPECIFIC SCENE cuz I KNOW they'll say something about it!!!"

AITA For Not Tagging a Work?
I, 32F, write primarily for my own enjoyment, my main platform being AO3. I currently have a multi-chaoter series that includes several major plot twists, including one that includes non-con. To avoid spoiling it, because I believe my stories deserve to be read with as little background info as possible, I only tag it as "Creator CHOSE not to Include Archive Warnings". Which is, as I hope is obvious, is not synonymous with "There Are No Warnings". The point is, I don't use the Rape/Non-con tag. Recently, I got a very upset reader in my comments complaining about how triggering that chapter of my work is, and that's where I have a problem. I believe the corporate obsession content warnings pervading even fanworks to be a major problem. I don't want to sanitize my work, but I do get that they contain pretty heavy themes. But I feel like I seriously do give my stories a disservice by adding labels on them, and maybe I am the asshole for this, but I value my pride and joy (my work) over strangers online. AITA?
What are these acronyms?
