Since I've been sick and have a lot of leftover symptoms, I'm not sure how consistently I can make and post new stuff right now. So my schedule is going to be a bit weird. Anyway,
This one started out with using the gradient tool to see what a standard dithering pattern looked like, with the intent of doing a 1-bit piece. I liked making the image for the membership tier, and thought I'd revisit it. I had the pattern at like 50% opacity in the background just to reference, but not only did that not really work out as planned (dithering at an angle is not something I currently understand), but it also ended up looking cool as is. It makes me think of some old space photo or something on a black-and-white TV.
I considered adding more, but I like it the way it is, minimal.

Specimen, Fanette Mellier Context: Pôle graphisme de Chaumont, 2009
Printed by: Imprimerie du Petit-Cloître
Description: 120 × 176 cm
This poster, announcing a series of “graphic design and publishing” themed shows, isn’t a conventional image. It’s more of a printed object linked to its subject. The front, fully saturated with color and technical elements related to printing (scale 1), is offset printed with a very thin raster. This space saturation, like an obsessive canvas, presents graphical tools that are a common vocabulary for books makers. The title and info are printed on the back. The fold lets the title appear: the poster becomes informative and evokes at the same time the delicate materiality of a page.
