In the Pokémon universe there are people who refuse to believe Clefairy is a fairy type. You can show them all the evidence in the world and all the research papers proving it was incorrectly labeled a normal type prior to the discovery of the fairy type, but they won’t believe you. They will send out their clefairy into an incoming poison type move, watch it deal double damage, and still say it’s not super effective because when they were in pokéschool they learned that Clefairy is a normal type pokemon

I wear clogs when travelling!
I do not understand why most traveling trainers I see seem to prefer Running Shoes over sturdy boots. I understand having them for, say, cities, but in caves or in tall grass, would boots not be far more practical?

It’s crazy to think I had never seen a Bulbasaur or a Charmander close up before I got here.
Some neat things that my textbooks never mentioned about Bulbasaur, or at least the ones on this island:
> Old Bulbasaurs who haven’t evolved seem to be able to still have a budding sprout or even a little flower on their bulb.
> They seem to take seeds from their bulb and plant them? It’s very rare, but very precise. They’ll stop what they’re doing entirely if they find that perfect spot and get to planting.
> Despite being told they can go days without eating… I mean… They can EAT. Strangely enough they seem to have a little ritual where they all come together with berries, mushrooms, small bugs they’ve foraged and pile them up to share? Like a family at the dinner table. The smallest Bub gets to eat first.

There's also the possibility of mutations when still in the egg, if the egg is exposed to certain chemicals or outside forces. There's not enough research in that field to be certain of everything that can cause such mutations.
You may want to have the frosslass checked, hormonal imbalances can cause various health issues and while not all gene mutations are dangerous, there are many that are.
Or you could wait for now, if the frosslass seems healthy.
Hi! I work at a lab specializing in oddities in pokemon we’d like to get a second opinion on this fella
[photo of a odd froslass]
He’s a male froslass. As someone with a froslass, and a shelter worker we were curious if you’ve ever seen this occur?
Hey! Thanks for consulting me.
A male Froslass is...not something I have ever seen before, no, but I did saw Pokemon in similar situations.
You see, a mutation like this generally starts right when the Pokemon is conceived. I have two guesses as to what could have been happening:
1-) Something goes wrong while the genes that determine the gender are getting 'created' resulting in a Pokemon that isn't fully a male nor a female. Sure, it's not a perfect 50/50 so it may appear as one gender until something like this happens and you are left with confusion. It doesn't really lower the pokemon life quality as far as I know.
2-) Hormonal imbalance. Especially, an imbalance of testosterone and estrogen hormones. As you know, both genders have these hormones. Males have more testosterone and females have more estrogen. I'm gonna split this into two pieces to explain:
a-) Hormonal imbalance from birth: The same story as the first possibility I explained. Something goes wrong while the Pokemon is conceived and the hormones are wrong. Affecting its evolution. Even though that Froslass may appear as a male, it may have more estrogen in its body rather than testosterone. This doesn't really lower the Pokemon's life quality as well.
b-) Hormonal imbalance from other reasons: Sickness, trauma, etc may cause the body to be dysfunctional and release the wrong hormones at the wrong numbers. Almost the same as 'a' that Froslass might have been a male that is releasing too much estrogen, enough for its body to mistake itself for a female and evolve accordingly. This may lower the Pokemon's life quality drastically.
Again, thank you so much for reaching out to me! Hope I could been of help ^^

I remember that oil spill, it was horrible. And the one the following year too-
Galarian companies often get away with these "accidents" with little to no justice. The pokemon and environment suffer and they build their business higher.
We took as many of those pokemon into our sanctuary as we could, or arranged for them being moved to other regions sanctuaries, but the fact is that the environment in Galar is being destroyed and many Pokemon lost either to the destruction or to neighboring regions sanctuaries.
I wish more was done about the various industrial companies destroying our nation but we can only do so much on our own.
Galar has the single largest industrial complex in comparison to their land mass in the world. 60% is taken over by it's cities, factories, and buildings. A further 10% is man made and controlled "Wild Areas".
Of the 30% remaining, 5% is controlled by the Artesian Foundation and utilized to run our sanctuary for Pokemon. Of the remaining 25%, only 15% is truly wild any longer and that number is shrinking by the day.
Galar is nearing a state of crisis, with pokemon every day sick from the smoke of the factories, from the overspill of their waste, or from human intervention in their homes.
If more care is not given to the wild homes of pokemon, and to protecting the environment, then it may become irreversible.

You're so correct! Frustration is a move that shouldn't be taught to pokemon on purpose. Buneary learning it naturally should not have led to everyone trying to teach their pokemon it.
There's even been some research that showcases that Buneary only learn Frustration as a result of extreme emotional frustration, in the wild as a result of natural struggles but when captured as a result of their trainer not taking care of them properly. It means even with Buneary frustration is a bad sign (either prior to capture or post capture).
Frankly I think any trainer with a pokemon taught frustration should be investigated for abuse.
i am once again asking why frustration TMs haven't been discontinued and the move banned from the league

Here’s an example to highlight the difference between a service pokemon vs an emotional support pokemon!
Let’s say I have anxiety and depression.
An emotional support pokemon would help me by being there to snuggle when I need comfort, because petting them grounds me. I’m motivated to keep to a daily schedule because my pokemon needs to be fed and walked and groomed. This helps me get out of bed every morning and take care of myself, too. I look forward to coming home to my friend after work and school.
A service pokemon, on the other hand, comes with me to work, school, and on errands. It is trained to look out for signs that I am experiencing symptoms, and will lean on my legs and sit on my lap when I need to be grounded. When I have a hard time getting out of bed, it will nudge me awake, pull off my blankets, and bring me my medication so that I can start my day. It is familiar with my schedule and will prompt me when I have a hard time transitioning from task to task.

If they're not adopted they often get sent to shelters and become stuck there for a long time. It's something that really needs to be improved. Please consider such pokemon for adoption, or speak to your local agency and see if they'd be willing to send them to fitting sanctuaries instead of a shelter. They'll be a lot happier in a sanctuary than in a shelter for years.
while we’re on the subject, did you know that you can sign up to adopt service pokemon washouts from your local training program? I’m talking about the guys who flunked the program and need homes now :]
if you’re up for having a sylveon that will turn the lights on and off in your house in the middle of the night or a gengar that will take off your socks at random (and then put them in the fridge) then boy have we got the pokemon for you!
