Note 1: Except Ninny and Evelyn, there are no other characters from the film or the book. The whole fan-fiction is about them, so it’s impossible to imagine something about anybody else. The fan-fiction is focused on the two women, so let’s say there are two characters and some nameless people.

Book 48: Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe by Fannie Flagg

This was a reread for me.  I absolutely love this book and this author.  Fried Green Tomatoes makes you laugh, makes you cry, makes you wish for a simpler time.  It’s everything that’s good about America.  Plus, as a bonus, there are some fantastic southern recipes at the end of the book.

I finished Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe on 8/7/2016.

my favorite thing to happen in any movie ever to date is that part in Fried Green Tomatoes where they kill the abusive asshole and then barbecue him and feed him to the cops who are looking for him

As funny as it is that teenage me somehow missed the fact that Fried Green Tomatoes is about lesbians, it’s now even funnier when I remember that there’s a group of church ladies driving around Illinois who missed it so much that they bought matching Towanda bumper stickers in honor of one of their favorite friendship movies.
