I was going to repost all OP's tags for context, then thought maybe it wasn't supposed to be viewed above the fold? So I won't for now. But basically, they were having thoughts about being an artist, how they feel when they aren't able to make art for one reason or another, and how that affects how they perceive their identity.
This is so important and normal for creatives, especially those who express emotions primarily through their art.
In my teens and 20s, I had a lot of internal dialogues about identity and what it meant to be an artist, and here is my story:
I was proud of my art as a teenager. I was proud that it set me apart, made me instantly recognizable among my peers. However, I also felt unknown. Whenever someone had to describe me, "artist" was the first (and only) thing they'd say. Not "generous" or "kind", not a personal anecdote. Just "artist." I wondered if art was all I was good for.
To be fair, I cultivated that label for myself. I used art to express emotions that I repressed: and I repressed all of them. No one knew me because I was so closed off. I still struggle with that, but I have gone to therapy and now I'm better about talking. I draw less, but I still draw out the tough emotions. To get them outside myself, I guess. I'm not sure, but I don't think therapy directly affected how much art I was making. :)
Later in my twenties, I started having art blocks. By this time I'd been posting my art online for a while, and I posted a lot. I'd set a standard for myself as an artist, and with the blocks it was impossible to keep. Once again, my identity was challenged, but this time I wondered if I could call myself an artist if I didn't love to do it all the time.
After a few art blocks, I learned that drawing, for me, is a vehicle for storytelling. I do like to do creative things, though, so I branched out and learned new artistic mediums and skills, most of which I didn't post online. I started calling myself a "storyteller" more than an "artist" because that's the part of the creative process I most enjoyed.
Now, I draw a lot less because I have more hobbies and friends and not a great work/life balance. But I would like to draw more, and I'm trying to find that balance.
TL;DR: What you're going through is normal for creatives, and though your outcome will not be the same as mine, there is a balance that can be struck. From what I can tell you don't shirk your responsibilities or loved ones "for your art", so prioritizing being an artist isn't a bad thing. You don't seem to be guilting yourself into drawing to keep up a certain image, either. So recuperate and feel safe to make "artist" your identity if you want to, with the comfort that you're always growing and your identity might change again!

Hi hi hi! Here to say that I love your Artemis Fowl fanart :D Particularly those Marvel crossover comics in which Artemis has long hair. I think he looks quite nice with long hair <3
Hello! Thank you for the compliment, I also really enjoy that run on af-answers. Long-hair Artemis is a good look, I must agree. :D

The unethical thing here isn't that the serum was being made, but how.
Oliver was funding life-saving science, and it was a mistake to speed along the process with human testing on himself.
Lex was funding life-saving science to buy it out from Oliver, speeding up the process by sanctioning human testing on disadvantaged people he has control over (at the halfway house). This decision resulted in the death of at least one person, and Oliver (and Lex) getting shot.
The bottom line is that Lex was willing to sacrifice the "less important" humans for an experiment. Which is supervillain behavior.
It's also not fair to compare Clark's lying to Lex's. Clark is a hypocrite many times in the show. He doesn't trust people, but then gets angry when they don't trust him. However, Clark isn't hiding a moral failing from others, he's hiding himself. When Lex lies at this point in the series, he's often covering up a crime, mistake, etc. I don't think he owes Clark explanations at this point, and it's valid to be frustrated with Clark, but their secrets aren't comparable.
So let me see if I have this right.
Oliver Queen funded ethically questionable research to create a regenerative serum and used it on himself before it had gotten to the human trial stage against expert advice, and after this ball had been rolling for awhile, Lex also began funding that research but was not using it on himself, and the conclusion we're meant to draw from this is Oliver made a mistake and Lex has taken another several steps down the road to supervillainy.
Did I miss something???
At this point it feels like Clark just has an irrational grudge against Lex for daring to act on his totally natural curiosity about the supernatural world around him, seeing through Clark's transparent lies, and most recently for dating Lana. Like I'm sorry you couldn't control him and that he noticed you're a terrible liar and that you've managed to come up with one million and one bullshit reasons to not be honest with the girl you've been in love with since you were eight or whatever and that that shockingly blew up in your face, but maybe look in the mirror and realize that your double standards here are out of control and frankly pretty gross.
Am I even supposed to like Clark? I genuinely can't tell anymore.

I knew boxlunch had a Treasure Planet jersey but when I saw they also had a Little Mermaid one I KNEW I had to draw the babes in them ✨ sooo sports au ?? I dunno. This took me forever to finish bc burnout- and THEN when I was getting back in the groove I got so sick I didn't want to look at any other screen that wasn't the TV.
but anyway here it is FINALLY- also hello to all the new followers omf :'))✨ thank you everyone for all the likes, comments and shares !!
ps. I tried a sneaky watermark placement. Ariel's was initially supposed to go on the ball but I scratched it for perspective purposes so it's now a little tag on her shorts instead

That's a good idea! Even if they're cameos lol. I need to get better at drawing maps. I like the consistency they bring but I also change stuff at the last minute. I have used maps in the past, though, and I need to use them more if I'm going to use DnD stuff like running speed during combat.

I actually think this will work better without players knowing the AF story, because then I can still use the biobomb plot twists, and him being relatable TM can also be a plot twist. :D
Artemis Fowl DnD short?
I'm a TTRPG GM, and my table is trying to upgrade to the DnD system. I have a few ideas of one-shots for practice, but I was thinking an Artemis Fowl DnD adventure might actually work?
First book specifically, with Artemis as the BBEG (big bad evil guy), and the hook being Holly is kidnapped. The players would probably be nameless LEP operatives that have the opportunity to learn Artemis's intentions.
It must be left open, though, so the plot may not go the same way as the books.
What else should be included?

Introducing Fairy Warrior Princess Iesnoth!
She is my childhood OC and the inspiration for my username. I tried to keep her design here very close to my childhood memory. She was a pretty 2-dimensional character, and I based her design heavily on Magical Knight Rayearth by CLAMP.
@moonyscribe asked about my username, and @pensivepretzil asked for a picture, so thank you both for the nostalgia!

For clarity: (source: book of Exodus in the Bible) Moses was the son of a Jewish slave in Egypt during a time when Egypt was killing off male babies. To save his life, his mother set him adrift in a basket, where he was found by an Egyptian princess and raised as her own. When he came to adulthood, Moses left Egypt after murdering a slave driver, was appointed by God to free the Jews, and returned to Egypt. God gave Moses the ability to perform miracles for the purpose of freeing his people. After they were freed, (long story short) Moses wrote down the law of God, including the Ten Commandments. He's one of the founding fathers of Judaism.
Kal-el was the son of a Kryptonian scientist who knew that their planet was going to die. To save their son's life, Kal-el's parents set him adrift in a spaceship, which landed on Earth. A farming couple found him and raised him as their own. When he came to adulthood, Kal-el (now Clark Kent) moved to Metropolis to serve the people there with his god-like powers (a result of his Kryptonian heritage) as Superman. Superman is often considered the moral core of DC Comics, and is one of the founding members of the justice league.
Now, for contrast (source, the Gospels): Jesus is an equal part of a triune God, but for simplicity we'll say He's the Son of God. God is perfect and perfectly just. He made a perfect creation, but it was corrupted. God can't be close to something imperfect, but he loved his creation, so he set about redeeming what he made. He chose to give up part of his God identity, send him to Earth to live perfectly and die in humiliation. An unjust death, but one that would satiate the evil that had claimed the world. The death of a god, a life so valuable it would pay for all misdeeds over all time. Jesus lived a perfect life on Earth: celibate, compassionate, teaching love and kindness and performing miracles. Then, in his 33rd year of life, multiple people and groups colluded to have him tried in illegal courts and crucified. He didn't defend himself: this was the whole reason he came. But he didn't come to stay dead. He had to die in order for evil to die, but he resurrected so we might live past our own evil.
This whole post is over-simplified, but you can see how Moses/Superman is much closer in story and theme.

I'm really not liking Deltarune chapter 3 (no spoilers)
Which is a HUGE bummer, because I really liked the first 2 chapters. The characters were interesting, there was a lot to explore, and it was challenging without being repetitive and annoying.
Chapter 3 is predicated on minigames, which are the definition of repetitive and annoying.
There are a few cool gimmicks, but so much of this chapter relies on quick fingers and being "good at" video games, which I'm not: I'm extremely uncoordinated. So to keep me from rage-quitting, a game has to have a good story for me to fight for. Undertale and the first two chapters of Deltarune have that, but the watered-down plot of chapter 3 does not deserve the gameplay's level of challenge. The TV guy has a thin, derivative motive. There is no sense of progression through change in environment because the backgrounds are all the same. The color palette is very limited, but with red being the main color, so it feels monotonous and overstimulating all at once. The length of the chapter is reliant on the player willingly replaying minigames over and over. If you don't, it's a short chapter with not a lot going on.
The main characters are still fun, but there are very few new ones and they don't have as much flavor. TV is such a big, cool concept, and they do very little with it, but still throw in random things as big set pieces, like water coolers and toy dispensers. wth?
The first two chapters of Deltarune were journeys, with various environments and challenges. Each progression felt natural and built on a narrative. The more I sit here thinking about chapter 2, the more I remember about its scope, variety, and story. Chapter 3 feels like getting trapped in an arcade, and the only way out is to beat the high scores on all the machines while circus music plays and neon lights flash in your face at all times.
I'm happy for people who liked this chapter. It's only because the rest of tobyfox's games are my favorites that I'm so let down. I thought I'd be guaranteed to at least enjoy the rest of Deltarune, but maybe I won't, and that's very sad to me.

One of the things I look forward to in heaven is being able to easily connect with people. We will no longer be held back by self-doubt, social morays, or misunderstandings. Whether or not people will still disagree in heaven, we'll at least all be sure in the knowledge that everything will be ok. :)

So I was scrolling Pinterest at 5 a.m, as one does, and rediscovered my old Artemis Fowl pin board, and rediscovered your art through it?? Holy SHIT is all I’ve got to say 😭🥹!!! I was a HUGE fan of this series in middle school and participated in the fandom since the Fangathering days– when I tell you the wave of nostalgia and memory that hit me was insane, I absolutely LOVED your art and you were one of those few artists from the time I remember inspired me so much! So this discovery was spectacular, I’m thrilled I found your tumblr blog and that I get to enjoy your art all over again :’) Even though I haven’t been in this fandom for years (I’m in university now lol), it holds such a special place in my heart still, and it was just the best stroke of luck ever to find my favourite fandom artist again. Just wanted to let you know this, and I hope you’re doing well, whatever your interests may be these days!
Ahhhh, thank you so much! Things were simpler in the Fangathering days... at least my art has improved since then. I have new interests now, but Artemis Fowl is still one of my core hyperfixations! I'm honored my art is a happy memory for you. Being someone's nostalgia is an odd but gratifying feeling.

Stop companies from killing games!!! (EU and UK edition)
Tired of buying a $60 game that stops being functional a year later when big corp decides to pull the plug on its support? Tired of companies being able to brick things you own because they feel like it? Tired of beloved games becoming lost to time?
There is currently an initiative being pushed in both the EU and UK for game companies to be held accountable for keeping at LEAST some version of a game functionable.
The movement is currently in dire straits but has been gaining a ton of traction lately that could bring it back. If you are a resident of either, there's things you can sign to get things moving!!
ROUGHLY ONLY A MONTH LEFT TO SIGN!!! ONLY EU OR UK CITIZENS CAN SIGN!!!
LINK TO EU INITIATIVE
LINK TO UK PETITION
And for more info, you can visit the Stop Killing Games site!!
While this movement only applies to Europe at the moment, it has the momentum to ripple outwards to other countries if we keep it alive and continue pushing back against companies that want to pulp games they don't deem lucrative enough.
If you are unable to sign, consider passing the post around! I doubt anyone WANTS their favorite game to die forever, so if there's enough eyes on the movement we're bound to make progress. Thanks for reading
