ok ok in short look I made a lil storyboard for a GotS animatic, it’s a very rough outline. The song is Run Little Hero by LeGrand. Ramble below the cut lmao.

So here’s the long version of why I’m so proud of this. During the COVID lockdown years, I reaaaaally wanted to be an animator. Like a storytime animator on YouTube. But I didn’t have the patience to actually animate. Because I was undiagnosed and the adhd made time consuming projects feel impossible. So I quit. Now literally yesterday I had an idea, sat down, and less than 24 hours later… there it is. My brain dump is real. It was just such an incredible moment to see how far I’ve come, not only my art skills, but also my mental skills.

Im hoping to actually finish this, or at least clean it up, but for now, I’m taking this time to celebrate the little achievements.

@igotsbook don’t think I forgot about drawing all of the kiddos. When I saw the personality description of “big flirt and goofball” for Gray I immediately went “I know this type. He’s going to be terribly traumatized” and I can’t wait to find out how ;P

The sword that I gave Gray is an estoc sword. The estoc is a type of longsword, and has French origins. I like learning about weapons. Anyway, it's narrow build and cool looking hilt made me think it was a good fit for Gray. Lemme know what y'all think.

most important part of the writing process actually is when you loop a single song on max volume and stare at the word document and imagine the characters doing things for 14 hours. this is known as getting in the zone

I too am (kindanotreally) an archer, so I spent a minute putting some of my bare-bones knowledge into the gloves and went ahead looking up pinterest pictures. So Nyx here doesn't quite match the ref sheet I had; I took some creative liberties into it.

I might think of other things she'd loop around that belt of hers while I'm bored during math, and just draw them in my sketchbook. For right now, she just has a knife.

And despite me knowing about this girl for 0.2 seconds, I already have headcanons:

This is already basically canon, but this girl has some crazy tan lines, particularly from her gloves

She makes her own arrows. I think it would be cool if the tips are obsidian, because that stone is sharp.

The woods is her home. I don't know enough about her for this to be official, but I can totally see it being that way. She just spends her entire day in the woods and doesn't come home until like an hour after the sun's set

Anyway... I will be doing more. The wonderful people of @igotsbook you have been warned.
