Hello Mun!^^ I just saw your post about how Papyrus helps Ht!Sans get over anxiety. The poor sweatheart ;^; So I wanted to ask you : How do you and HS!Sans help him relax when Papyrus isn't around?

Hey nimiirien! I am actually working on your other question right now about how HT and I met! Sorry It’s taking so long, it should be out soon though and to make up for my lateness, here’s your answer! 

I am not uniquely trained the way Papyrus is when it comes to handling Sans’ PTSD; but I myself have experienced and helped people through numerous anxiety attacks. 

- First thing I do is try to distract him. I don’t attempt to touch him because when he’s going through an anxiety attack or a flashback he definitely forgets how strong he is. Him holding you when he’s struggling with control HURTS, trust me, I’ve had the bruises at one time to prove it. The pain isn’t even that big of a deal to me, but he feels guilty afterwards and it makes him more likely to clam up and stress out.

- I play a little game with him. I tell him to start naming off obvious things in the room, like the carpet is soft, or the microwave is beeping, it smells like grillby’s - stuff like that. It grounds him and calms him down all at once. 

- The minute he’s recovered enough to not need coercing to ‘breathe’, I text his brother about it so that Papyrus can either call or come see Sans.

- I do not attempt to talk about what might’ve triggered him - this is because he has made it plainly clear in the past that although he trusts me; he doesn’t want me to know all of what he’s done. He still needs a lot of time before he can talk to someone other than his brother about that stuff. 

- I get him something to eat and drink, because usually after an anxiety attack he’s feels exhausted and starving. 

- I put on either a background movie or play some music (Anything that he’s adjusted and comfortable with, things that make him feel safe)

- Then and only after he’s been calmed down - do I attempt to hug him or provide comfort in a physical manner. We usually cuddle up on the couch until eventually both of us sleeping. At some point we both wake up, either because someone wants to notify us we’re hogging the couch or because one us woke up and discovered we were trapped (He’ is a cuddler and he will not let go unless you wake him up… And uh… My hair gets caught in everything). 

- Usually if he doesn’t want to be touched, he’ll want to go to his room and be by himself. However sometimes he’ll just want to sit in the same room as someone, so about that time I get us our sketchpads and we draw in relative comfortable silence.

I guess An’ and Cast’ doodle needs an explanation: Castiel is sick AF after (before and between) roller coaster rides and won’t admit it. There, she lights a cig so they get kicked out before the ride starts and he doesn’t have to confess how scared he is. She’s probably telling him “lucky i like you, otherwise i would let you crawl back home, in your own vomit”.

Each of us at least once dreamed their beloved character turned into reality. We all wanted to talk to them, touch them, feel them.

Cosplayers are the ones who makes our dreams come true. They do hella hard work to dissolve for a while in the character’s personality and live a bit of their life. These people accept the character as themselves so that you and I can feel something that we love right by our side.
