Barely (not) in time for art fight I FINALLY made a species sheet for these guys! The. uh. basic one that is. This is part of a HUGE worldbuilding project at least partially driven by my love for having a bunch of different but similar critters share a world (like fantasy ""races"" but. Actually a bit more detailed and nuanced), magic with science-y vibes and a lot of different cultures, customs and forms of government (or lack thereof) so even though there's a lot more to write I could absolutely not even begin to address that here. Not entirely sure how the culture here is with own content species; if it's more leaning towards open/semi-open/close species or "look at this thing" worldbuilding but. Basically this is a thing I made for my worldbuilding. I'm not gonna stop you from making fanart but I don't specifically intend for it to be a "make your own pet" kind of species. (That being said, if you do choose to please credit me.)
Speaking of artfight...

More favourite tropes:
“Unfortunately, [thing that would ordinarily be described in much stronger terms than ‘unfortunate’].”
“Fortunately, [thing that is in no way fortunate].”
“Unfortunately, [thing that would be fortunate in nearly any circumstance except the particular circumstance at hand].“
“Fortunately, [very minor benefit that absolutely does not offset the considerable drawbacks of whatever just happened].“
“Unfortunately, [the exact, word-for-word thing that somebody just expressed that they hope won’t happen].“
“Fortunately, [complete non sequitur].”

Given the current state of TUMBLR transmisogyny
I don't know how long I will still stick around.
Here is a collection of all my other social media:
I suggest if you want to see (more) of my art you go to these. I am as a rule bad at uploading but I'm making an effort to put more of my stuff online.
(Also. Yes this is neocities. Yes I have no idea what I am doing and, as of right now, no time to figure it out. I do have plans to do more with it but for now it's good enough at what it does.)
#This is not to say that I am at a huge risk of being banned#But leaving by choice is very much in the cards.

Oop, full description!
Content warning for ableism.
-----------------------------------
A young mage living at the beginning of the industrial revolution. Egam is very distrustful and anxious. Living at a time where Autism and other Neurodivergencies would often lead to being locked away he’s gotten paranoid of others finding out just how “odd” he really is. This has also lead to him generally mistrusting and disliking authorities. In this experience rules rules are often used as a weapon against him and rarely give any protection. He’s fiercely protective of his little brother and the few people he trusts and will usually try to tackle problems on his own or with the assistance of those few, even when he knows he’s in over his head. (This is partly how he got the scar.) When he was younger he had a special interest in mythical stories, especially those featuring changelings and similar tales. These days he’s more interested in the theoretical side of of how new magic and technology change the lives of people (ideally for the better). He also has a passing interest in medicine and to some extent politics and history.
He's pansexual but scared of getting close to people.
Magic He has both kunnr (light) and kyn-ligr (dark) magic, making him capable of learning both. People like him are called Dusklings and are more common than pure kyn-ligr mages, but still far rarer than dragons who solely possess kunnr magic. He has had some education in using kunnr ley, which tends to involve manipulating physical matter as well as forces such as light and gravity, though he struggles with any kind of big magical effects, though he’s pretty good with detail work. The only aspects of kunnr magic he is decent at are wind and gravity. Compared to the average student with his background he’s below average in magic.
Knows very little kyn-ligr magic. His greatest strength is being able to teleport, though he must concentrate to do so.
Element He recently gained his Element and is still not very good at it and he feels a bit silly blowing magic at people so he usually uses his hands for it. It’s called Ash due to the dark residue it leaves when used against organic targets. Physical:
Has very good nightvision
Generally climbs more like a human (gripping things) due to his claws being long and not useful for this
Evolutionarily speaking his claws are this way for skewering fish but he has no experience with this
Very good endurance, especially compared to most other dragons (most dragons are ambush hunters)
Cannot run very fast for a dragon
Needs only about 5 hours of sleep
Stormdancers like him can trance instead of sleep, but it's much less effective. They can do this in flight or doing something equally monotenous.
Autistc/Autism related traits/notes:
Very sensitive to loud noises
Can't stand hairties or clips
Loses speech with some frequency
Actually pretty good at metaphors and sarcasm
Generally does not make eye contact, takes short glances at people's faces when trying to ascertain intention
Better at reading people's voices than faces
Wonky pain perception
He has some minor motor issues, but he's not ever going to admit it. Mostly based in sensory issues.
They tend to get far worse when he's tired which tends to be quite frustrating for him as he feels pretty incompetent when he can't manage to stir something without spilling some or runs into things he can clearly see repeatedly.
Can't remember names or faces very well, after spending a lot of time with the people in question he'll remember them but he'll still struggle with actually saying the right one
Egam reference sheet
Behold the blorbo!
There are many blorbos, but this one is mine!
He's autistic and pan and a horrible stickbug of a dragon.
(Gonna RB with full description, but if you're just here for littol skrimbly, feel free to ignore.)

Photo

[ID: A watercolour painting of a dragon with green fur standing before a grave in a misty graveyard. He is turning away from the camera so that his brown hair which is long on one side covers his face, his tail with a ridge of long fur the same colour as his hair is curving away from the viewer. He has golden wings and is wearing am indigo shawl with little specks of glittering gold. There are some candles as well as a small burning sacrifice in front of the grave. End ID]
You like gays? You like Halloween? You like disabled characters?
Have a Cahan scribble that’s definitely got so many cannon errors. Like, Halloween has a distinct “Pagan ideas filtered through christianity and then modern culture(especially regaridng graves and such)” vibe that wouldn’t work for Ilisia (because no significant christianity), but I just wanted to draw the vibe (tm) rather than do extensive research into possible pagan rituals/relations to death and funeral practices in X region so, yea.
(Also, Cahan is dyslexic and has three legs but I admit it’s really hard to tell with this pose.)
