This is how the poplars burns in the park of Cidacos de Calahorra (Spain)
The easiest way to clean up the fluffy material so it doesn’t kill the lawn is to set fire to it. It’s densely coated enough that the fire spreads easily but it’s very light and airy, so the fire doesn’t burn hot enough to set anything else alight or kill the grass. The white stuff on the ground comes from cottonwood trees. The trees uses its cotton-like seeds to spread its seeds through the wind. Since the seeds are dryer and have a lower flash point than the grass the burn up first to fast for the grass to catch.

Geoffrey Oryema (1953-2018) was a Ugandan musician.
In 1977, his father, Erinayo Wilson Oryema, a cabinet minister under Idi Amin ’s ruthless regime was brutally murdered — allegedly on President Amin’s orders.
After this, at the age of 24, Geoffrey Oryema was smuggled out of the country in the trunk of a car and began to live his life in exile.
He sang in the languages of his youth, Swahili and Acholi, the languages of his lost country, the "clear green land" of Uganda, and he also sang in English and French.
His first songs Makambo and Land of Anaka were released in 1991 earning him fame and recognition while he lived in exile.
In 2017, after four decades of trying to avoid the memory surrounding the tragic loss of his father, Oryema finally felt it was time to return to his country.
In an interview with Face2Face Africa, Oryema explained what his return meant to him, saying, “My recent return to the country of my birth was certainly full of mixed emotions. When I left 40 years ago, it was tears of sadness, fear, hatred, and revenge, which echoed in my head.
“In the early morning of the 17th December 2016, when the plane landed at Entebbe International airport, that moment to me was like ‘life is an onion,’ because sometimes when you peel off the layers of an onion, it makes you weep. Those were tears of joy.”
“In the decades since my father was brutally murdered, I tried my level best to find some sort of closure to heal the psychological wounds I lived with. Music and karaté played vital roles to help close those dark chapters. The release of my 1st album, “Exile,” in 1990 is a good example.”

At The Equator, You Can Tell Time Differently
Kenya and Uganda both lie on the equator, so the sun rises around 6 a.m. and sets around 6 p.m. throughout the year. Given such a reliable natural timekeeper, it is customary to tell time by counting hours of light or hours of darkness.
So, 7 a.m. is called 1 o’clock (saa moja, or one hour of light), and 11 a.m. is called 5 o’clock (saa tano) (moja means 1 and tano 5 in Swahili). Similarly, 7 p.m. is called 1 o’clock (one hour of darkness), and 11 p.m. is 5 o’clock.
Unfortunately this way of telling time is becoming less common, as all clocks are western-style.
