The university I used to attend was a gateway to hope and light for me. It was the place where I strived to achieve my dreams and build my future. But the war in Gaza spared nothing. The destruction that befell the university was devastating; its buildings are no longer standing, and the lecture halls I once sat in are now rubble. It’s as if the dream I worked so hard for collapsed with every wall that fell and every book lost under the ruins.💔

My life and future have been shattered in ways beyond words. All the efforts I put into my years of study no longer seem to matter. I had hoped to complete my education and secure a job that would help me build a decent life, but now all I see ahead is emptiness. There are no job opportunities, and the situation worsens by the day. Life is no longer the same, and each day I feel the weight of destruction not only around me but within me as well.😢

The war didn’t just take away our homes and livelihoods; it also stole our dreams and ambitions.💔

I NEVER want to see people say "but they COULDN'T cast an Actor of Color for a Character of Color because they couldn't find an actor to play the part!" As a defense for TV shows/Movies whitewashing a character ever again.

If a casting director could find a damn near carbon copy of an actor to portray said actor in his younger years, then a casting director can find anyone. I didn't even know this actor existed before the gay vampire show. This proves that if studios really wanted, they would.

So anybody in this day and age still defending whitewashing under the excuse of "studios not finding anybody" is stupid and dumb. Do you think big studios like Disney don't know when they're whitewashing characters of color? Do you really think they're just smol little beans trying to make fun movies by erasing characters of Romani, or etc (insert whomever they whitewashed here) heritage?

It's a casting director's JOB to match the actor to the character. If they aren't doing it properly, then they're a bad casting director. If studios executives are choosing to whitewash characters then know it's either on purpose or they don't think it's important enough to cast to character, and at that point I no longer give a fuck about whatever show/movie they are making.

Seriously it's embarrassing to watch you people defend whitewashing, it makes you look stupid.

(Note: I have nothing against the actors from Interview with the Vampire, I'm just using them as an example that there's so many actors out there and studios should always find the right person for the job.)

Every single X-Men fan who put their fictional characters over real life bigotry, racism, and actual genocide for their stupid jokes should shut up actually. Every person who uses a real life genocide for jokes should donate to help a Palestinian family. I've been upset before but once again the callous indifference of comic fans shows me that some of y'all are so removed from how serious actual oppression is that it's disgusting. Oppression of a real people is more important than fictional characters.

Sure they'll get upset when fictional characters are oppressed but then turn around and use a photo of Rashida Tlaib, the first and only Palestinian congresswoman, doing the bravest act anyone in that room has ever done, holding up a sign to protest Netanyahu's speech, one of the people who is directly responsible for the ongoing Nakba and genocide of Palestinians that has killed and hurt thousands, as a joke for their fictional oppressed characters.

She is alone in a room full of people who hate her just for being Palestinian and standing up to the monster who is currently killing her people. She is against the slaughter of innocent men, women, and children and is being treated like she's the one in the wrong by everyone there. She is one of the bravest women I've ever seen.

Comic fans should get some fucking empathy or shut the fuck up.
