You think Merlin ever had to train another servant? Like he was there for years and would’ve been really high up in the hierarchy.

Probably only happened once though because he’d be that one coworker that goes you’re supposed to do it like this but I definitely don’t, then get someone fired by telling them about something only he’s allowed to do.

They start fighting.

Merlin, grabbing the biggest knife he can find, turning it this way and that to inspect it: I'm going to go kill myself

I feel like the fact that there is a canonical afterlife in Merlin is not talked about enough because obviously Uther came back and was unhappy with how Arthur was ruling so he must have been at least aware of what has happening? But that means that not only was Merlin waiting for Arthur but Arthur was waiting for Merlin as well. Would he have seen or felt Merlin’s pain? Because they’re tied so closely? (Two sides of the same coin) would he have seen the aftermath of his death? I don’t even want to imagine Arthur without Merlin for that long because he could barely survive three days in the show. Merlin and Arthur are the most doomed pair ever no arguments

my roman empire will forever be how dedicated arthur was to merlin. he was merlin's true ride or die. because sure merlin was the same way but merlin had insider knowledge and a destiny that arthur didn't have. arthur was just THAT obsessed with merlin for who he was
