the way TK so quietly says “soulmates?” like he almost can’t believe what he heard. because we’ve heard TK use that term before, we know he has no problem thinking of love in that way. but not everybody does. that doesn’t mean they don’t love with their whole heart, but not everyone believes in the concept of soulmates or ever uses that word to describe how they’re feeling even if it is something as powerful as that. so maybe TK has been mentally calling Carlos his soulmate, he’s been keeping that to himself, maybe wondering if it’s silly to use a term so imaginative, almost. and he’s never heard Carlos use that word before. he feels Carlos’ love more than anything, but maybe he didn’t know Carlos believed in that type of thing. didn’t know soulmates could be their thing, instead of his thing. and now, on the edge of something that could change the entire future they thought they’d have together, Carlos is there telling TK: Yes, soulmates. From day one and every day since then and every day moving forward.
