i love the introduction to one of the editions of polidori’s diary where it basically says ‘he is often portrayed as annoying and touchy and that’s because he was’ lmaooo

no but genuinely, that is almost word for word, and this was his NEPHEW writing this if i remember correctly. and its on the first page of the long introduction explaining why his uncle's diary has value 😭 like he really could not hold back any longer from letting us all know 😔
