I mean other than the fact that the writer admitted in an interview that she has read Jack Shit regarding Jason Todd in comics or even capes/heroes in general, there’s a few interviews back about her other books where she admits that she prefers to use the shock value of rape/aftermath in her writing. A lot of this was on her twitter too, which as one can imagine, is being deleted at a rapid pace to hide the amount of weird shit that’s been said

Also the artist (Taurin Clarke) has said before he hates Jason as a character so we’re screwed. Just toss the whole run in the trash

I love Clark Kent because realistically both a nice 6'5 superhero with godlike powers AND a friendly 6'5 country boy reporter would be rolling in bitches, but Clark suffers from terminal Sweetiepie Syndrome and has zero game as a result

Just got a copy of "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" and I'm conflicted if I should read it or just watch the movie. It's not a matter of which is better - I know it would be better to just read the book but like, do I really wanna get too deep into Snow's head? Or will I miss too much? Either way I intend to at least watch movie clips of Lucy Gray singing.

The way Superman depicted complicit civilians is gonna stick with me.

Because usually when you have your villain, usually the civilians working for them are gonna be largely faceless or cowed. And then when the hero crashes the scene, only the armed goons are taken out while said civilians flee to remove any questions.

In here though, you can tell they all enjoy working for Luthor. The technicians in his hq have fun plugging in directions to Ultraman. And those in the base camp wear tropical shirts while listening to music and playing games on their downtime. Nobody is working with rigid confirmity nor are there moral reservations (the only objection shown was when his obsession almost got them killed).

So when Mr. Terrific arrived on the scene, it is actually fitting that he wiped out the workers alongside the armed goons.

Also the way Superman's fellow prisoners not only attempted to snitch on him but actually tried to out snitch each other deserves a whole other analysis.

just overheard my dad on the phone going “yeah, i’d be more than happy to buy her daughter off of you, how much would you be willing to trade her for?” and got Very Worried for a second before remembering that he manages dairy farms for a living. surely there’s gotta be a better way to word that man
