"The darkroom at Lorton was a place you could be alone without being lonely," said Alonzo Davis, a former incarcerated individual at Lorton Maximum Security Prison. Alonzo was speaking of the unique existence of a darkroom for a rehabilitative photography program within the prison, which helped give some of the men the tranquil space they needed to reflect.
