Rise fans always make that 'Accidentally Mutated Vs Intentionally Mutated' comparison to elevate the Rise Turtles above the rest of their counterparts, especially 2012.

While yes, the mystic powers certainly make the Rise gang OP af and very cool (I love their mystic abilities istg-) the fans shouldn't be taking that as a dig at the other turtles.

Like the 2003 turtles can become dragons and boy isn't that insane, but you don't see 2003 fans using that to make their iteration superior in anyway. It's all in good fun.

Talent doesn't make up for hardwork and raw skill. There are many sayings on that too. The Rise turtles grew up on Lou Jitsu movies and learnt that way (that shows how talented these guys are which is very impressive) and I applaud them for using what they know in combat but as you said, it doesn't matter how hard your hit is but how much it hurts.

Honestly if there was a no mystic powers allowed fight, the chance for victory is slightly lower now for the Rise gang (they can still hold their own I'm well aware).

There was an episode where 2012 Raph, Donnie and Mikey knocked out a huge giant creature with a combined hit as Leo functioned as distraction for the hit to land. That shows how much strength the 2012 turtles built up over the course of the show.

The 2012 turtles went through a lot and came out stronger, even dying atleast once and then coming back to life like the stubborn bunch they are.

All of the turtles are great fighters, be it given to them through DNA alteration or through hard earned skill. One cannot discredit a turtle through the method they learnt their skills.

In conclusion, all turtles are awesome, I love all of them and their iteration specific quirks and I would really appreciate it if glazers stop putting down other shows for their one favourite turtle iteration.

Truthfully, sometimes I hate the whole “intentionally mutated vs accidentally mutated” thing between the rise turtles and the other turtles. In part because I don’t think it’s a great way to compare the two types of turtles. It feels like it discredits the accidentally mutated turtles’ strengths in regards to skill and form. Making them somehow lesser fighters or threats.

I would argue a better comparison would be natural talent vs. hard learned skills.

Take the “accidentally mutated” 2012 Raph for example. While he might not be able to make the projections Rise Raph can, he stills have an astounding amount of brute strength that has been honed by years of training under a skilled master. Which allows his to fight opponents that are double his size like so:

So my friend told me that she's been seeing people dunk on Mizi due to the new comic Vivinos posted.

It's not her being a manipulator guys, it's her survivor's guilt distorting her point of view and making her think it's all her fault.

Like Sua's death, Sua dies in their round together. Till's death, Mizi was so close to rescuing him but he dies just a few inches away from Mizi's waiting hand. The other deaths she feels guilty for have similar explanations.

Ivan is not there in the comic, sorely because Mizi has nothing to do with the way he died, not because Ivan saw through her or whatever people are saying. Mizi wasn't indirectly responsible for his death nor was she anywhere near the stage to witness his death. So her guilt didn't extend to him in that way. I guess in a sense, Mizi feels that Ivan may be the only one to not blame her. (The others don't blame you either Mizi...🥲)

I can't believe the Mizi slander happening rn like wtf man...

That comic was about her having survivor's guilt not her being a manipulator. You can tell by how haunted current Mizi looks.

The fandom likes to cherry pick and choose what they want to see and it's so frustrating when they like to say their mediocre understanding of the character is canon, like no it is not in any way.

I agree with what you said. Childe likes to challenge himself and push himself to whatever limits he had, he hasn't found these limits yet and thus tries harder and harder. He hasn't unlocked his true potential yet. One thing about Childe is that he improves rapidly. Compare Childe in the Liyue Quest and him in Fontaine. He is leagues stronger than he was in Liyue. I kinda want to see him use other weapons, especially a claymore or catalyst.

Only few people know and acknowledge that the fool in Skirk's description is not calling Childe an idiot but actually refers to him being a Fatui. Others are taking this as another chance to shit on Childe again, I'm afraid.

Genshin is a whole mess right now and I just want to see Childe being the BAMF guy he is, is that so much to ask??

Exactly man! I'm also pretty sure with all the things 2012 Donnie went through, 2018 Donnie would be very fascinated.

Especially the Space arc. The 2012 turtles experienced the beyond and all the extraterrestrial tech as well as Fugitoid would absolutely make 2018 Donnie jump from joy. 2012 turtles also went universe hopping too, Rise Donnie is aware that alternate universes exists but he can't go to em so he would be very insistent that 2012 Donnie tell him absolutely everything.

Also 2012 Donnie made retromutagen, i don't think the 2018 turtles are aware that mutation can be reverted. That would be another point that 2018 Donnie would be interested in. That and also the fact 2012 Donnie canonically knows how to reanimate a corpse.

And with how 2018 Donnie so badly wants to go lethal sometimes, the instances where 12 Donnie has killed people/mutants might impress him. 2012 Raph is scary when angry but when 2012 Donnie was angry, people died.

Also the vampire arc, like 2012 Raph was also a vampire but why was Donnie so fucking terrifying? Also if the fangs stayed, it would make his red eyes even more scary tbh.

Also I'm sure that contrary to the wide fandom belief, 2018 Donnie would be impressed with the fact that 2012 Donnie made do with what little resources he had and still made awesome inventions. Like the mofo stopped a damn portal with a toaster of all things like, hello?! I'm still not over that, how did he do that?

2012 Donnie would be very happy that there is someone who won't tell him to shut up when he's explaining how something works or why this thing is happening or whatever else he likes to talk about. 2018 Donnie would be a fan of his alternates, because all Donnie's have done such genius things and accomplished so much.

I also don't understand why people think 2018 Donnie would hate 2012 Donnie for not wanting 12 Mikey in his lab. Like in the series, it's made pretty clear why he shouldn't be in the lab. Mikey can be accident prone and Donnie knows how dangerous each thing can be, so he doesn't want Mikey to hurt himself. I'm pretty sure 2018 Donnie also likes his privacy just the same. So yeah, don't think that fanon belief would ever be true tbh.

So yeah, in conclusion 12 and 18 Donnies would get along great :D

Rise Donnie! You know, the turtle that famously craves gaining praise and understanding from others! The same turtle who puts science above all else! When he meets other scientists or, at the very least, other intelligent people he thinks will understand him he tends to put them on a pedestal. Meeting a literal different version of himself would be even worse.

I’m not even sure if 2012 Donnie’s obvious crush on 2012 April would even register in his head. That four-eyes would have some heavily rose tinted glasses basically super glued to his face should he ever meet another Donatello.

Additionally, I think people forget that 2012 Donnie basically operates like a search engine of knowledge. You ask him a question and he spits out all the knowledge he has on the topic. It is so easy to get him going on information rants that can distract him from basically anything. Including his crush on April.

And there is no way Rise Donnie wouldn’t be rattling off questions and getting into long winded discussions with 2012 Donnie almost every minute. 2012 Donnie being with Rise Donnie would probably be so distracting he would momentarily forget his own crush.

So yeah. I’m pretty sure they’d get along swimmingly. They’d both be a bit too caught up with each other because they’d both have a: “hey someone here finally understands what I’m talking about all the time!” Attitude to really notice the other’s more….annoying quirks.

Rise Leo and 2012 Donnie on the other hand….

That's exactly what I'm trying to say on multiple occasions! I've seen Rise stans be like "The Rise turtles have villain potential!" (No they don't, for various reasons) "The older turtles have no idea how mentally and physically fucked up the Rise bros are!" (Uhm, have you SEEN the other TMNT iterations?!) "The other turtles would be scared of the Rise turtles!" (The other turtles have done worse...)

In my opinion, what makes the Rise turtles different is how upfront they are about their motives and sometimes feelings. Like Rise Donnie for example, he has as you put it, no impulse control due to his very loose upbringing. There was no Splinter to curb his tendencies because Rise Splinter was suffering from depression and was stewing in his grief and trying to cope. Rise Splinter couldn't pay attention to his sons like most Splinters could because he was not in a good mental place and that left the Rise boys to raise themselves or well Raph to raise his brothers (it even got confirmed by the writers, I think). The other Rise brothers can be indulgent with Donnie sometimes so that gives this guy free reign to do as he pleases.

Most of the other Donnies are kind of different in that regard (there are also exceptions to this, I will admit). They have to curb their tendencies. Their possible paranoia, their morally grey viewpoint as a scientist/inventor, the bloodlust that is hiding in there somewhere. They have a father who taught them better and brothers, especially a Leo who set an example. Take 2012 Leo for example, in Heart of Evil, he went with Donnie because he didn't want his little brother to do something he would regret (sure Donnie didn't kill Vizioso but he snapped so many necks, he still killed people) Leo was there to guide Donnie out of that dark place and Donnie, in the end listened.

2003 Donnie is very well hidden due to how nice natured he is compared to his counterparts and he will definitely get away with all that stuff.

Also, 2012 Donnie knows how to reanimate a corpse, make retromutagen by hand and I can't believe this mofo stopped a portal using a toaster. The first one had caught my attention because the other Donatellos don't know how to do that (it is from the episode where he helps Dr. Frankenstien make his monster, which what?? First Dracula and now this? Donnie trynna speedeun being all the Halloween monsters atp) and that really settles in how much shit the other characters would be in if any Donatello turned to a life of villainy because the purple turtles are like hypercapable, they do so much around the lair and in the team.

Case in point, all Donnies are fucking terrifying and are definitely not someone to be trifled with.

Also I saw a post earlier, one that said they wouldn't wanna fight the 2012 brothers out of all the turtles the most, simply because of the level of insults the 2012 boys have. Like that was so valid! Imagine having to take that psyche damage in battle, yeesh. Like teens are cruel in that regard (lmao me too ngl) and the 2012 brothers definitely won't pass up the chance to taunt people.

Funny thing that the fandom forgot is, Childe's boss fight had to be toned down a lot cause many players were having trouble beating him.

Childe is indeed a 20 something dude fighting divine beings and immortals.

It's even canon that this mad lad has fought dragons before Neuvilette. In his character story 1, it says something like:

[He is a proud man of his word. Even if the promise he makes is absurd, he will never break it. Be it exterminating all the dragons inside their lairs, venturing into a domain of extreme danger or single-handedly overthrowing the territory of a nobleman...]

So yeah, this guy likes picking fights with divine beings and immortals for the funsises.

Childe is very strong, it's just that the scenes he's in pits him against stronger creatures.

Also @ramunnae I recommend you read Cyanide Narwhal by TrashcanWithSprinkles on Ao3. It's my all time favourite Genshin fic and it does Childe justice. Skirk is also a lovely character in there and Guizhong is an absolute G.

You know what I think? Childe is only naive with people he trusts.

Childe is definitely kinda naive when it comes to people he thinks he can trust. For example: The Tsaritsa, Pulcinella and Zhongli (his reaction in the bank). When he trusts someone, he doesn't half ass it, he gives it completely. He trusts the Traveller and what did he do? In the Fontaine quest, he gave his Vision to the Traveller with full belief that they will keep it safe. When this man trusts someone, he will do so with his full heart. Too bad he will stabbed in the back by the Cryo Archon and Pulci.

I think while he presents himself as a silly guy, he is not fully stupid. He managed to trick the Traveller and managed to pull off an escape from the Fortess. He has his moments of dumbassery but well within reason. When it matters, he will be intelligent. Because Childe is just a mask. He has masks. Tartaglia is another mask. Childe introduced himself as Childe, a sunny, eager guy who is easy to get along with. When he shows up in the Golden House, that's not Childe. That's Tartaglia, the Eleventh Harbinger who's left many a destruction in his wake. Ajax is reserved for his younger siblings. So yes, as much as these are name, these are also his masks. For me personally, Childe has no true personality. Instead he has a series of masks suited for the people around him as he sees fit.

He's not an actual fool and I am very sure that when that particular wave of mischaracterization hits, I'll be very annoyed. The Childe hate is frankly, very unwarranted. They call him all kinds of untruths.

Like where did they get the "Childe is a simp" bit? Just cause he called Lumine girlie or paid for a few things during that Liyue quest cause Zhongli is so used to making mora that he forgot to carry a pouch of it as a mortal disguise, doesn't mean he's a simp. Childe is at best, friendly to the Traveller. He thinks they are strong and fun to be around and that maybe travelling with them would be fun cause wherever the Traveller goes, strong enemies are sure to be found. He's not a simp for any character. I love Griffin's song covers, but he is definitely not helping with this weird fanon characterization of Childe that's being considered canon by some weird fans.

Also Childe being weak??? Where??? Idk where people get the "Childe is Weak" bits from. Like ik why Skirk calls him weak, she literally trained him so she had mentor rights. She's also definitely a non human, so her definition of strong vastly differs.

Idk why she says Traveller and Neuvi is strong cause they dealt the last blow to the whale, like Childe did most of the damage over a very long period of time. I mean yeah, Traveller is OP and Neuvi is a Sovereign but they are also not mortal. Obviously they are strong. Childe did more in that fight, as much as he humanely could just for the funsies because this man is an adrenaline junkie.

Other characters?? Like Childe will win against all the human characters. Like the only human who I think has a chance of defeating him is Shenhe (Arrle too but she doesn't really feel human to me idk why) The other human characters don't even come close to being able to defeat him, but the glazers say otherwise. (I've seen people saying Kaeya or Diluc or even Ning are capable of defeating him like??? How??? Where???) Childe is an actual soldier, he fought his way up the ranks as a teen and became a Harbinger at eighteen! He has mastery over all weaponry with the exception of the bow. And with the way his strongest hit with the bow is him simply throwing the arrow, his physical strength is probably very high.

People cannot get it through their brains that gameplay doesn't equate to the character's actual strength. If you build a character right, they'll deliver. However in the actual story, Childe is one of the strongest characters on the powerscale. If you remove the immortals from the powerscale, this guy can be even in the top 5 because that's how strong he is in the lore.

This guy fell into the Abyss and came out alive. He was a child and he survived when adults and hell, even immortals couldn't withstand the effects of the Abyss. Child came out with a shit ton of trauma and he's definitely seen some things down there but his psyche is somewhat intact enough for him to function in society. He was strong enough to do that.

Childe can never be a weak character to me and when I see the fandom say otherwise, I get so, so angry. He's a complex guy. He is so much more than 'Ginger', 'Simp', 'Liar', 'Weak', 'Asshole' or whatever the fandom wants to call him these days. Some of the things I see people say about him are as follows:-

•"He lied to us!" Oh boo hoo, so did Zhongli and I don't see anyone harping him for it. Zhongli arranged for the whole thing to happen and Childe was just the pawn who had to make it happen, he didn't even know what was going on.

•"He tried to kill us!" So did Scaramouche but the fandom licks his shoes and worships him anyway. He got redeemed, yes but all the harm and damage he did still happened. He hurt people too but just cause the fandom is full of masochists who get off being insulted, everything is alright apparently.

•"He tried to harm the people of Liyue!" Wtf was Raiden doing to her people? It was a fucking dictatorship in Inazuma but the fans don't mind that, do they??? I didn't really like it when she apologised and all was forgiven.

•"Childe is a terrible brother!" He cares for his brother. He takes the safety of his siblings as well as their dreams very seriously. Diluc tried to harm Kaeya but nooo he's misunderstood right? Diluc was grieving right? Kaeya did nothing yet Diluc tried to pull a sword on him. I know grief can do horrible things to a person but between the guy who pulled a sword on his brother put of anger and grief and the guy who used a transformation that could harm himself just to protect his brother's dreams, who is a better brother? According to the fandom, apparently the first guy. (I'm not villainizing Diluc here, I'm just presenting my point here. Diluc is a great character and did not deserve the hell that Dottore made for him)

Always when it's Childe, people pick at these things but when it comes to everyone else, they get off scot free without so much as a slap on the wrist. Like Childe lied? This guy was very upfront about being a Harbinger, it was very obvious that he would do something so idk why people are so butthurt about it. The Harbingers don't care for the Traveller and won't take their feelings into account when they make plans. Childe and Traveller are quite cordial now in the game, but the fandom is still hung up on that 'betrayal'.

Childe is obviously going to be one of the key players in the story in a way most of the characters aren't. From his name being Ajax, to that story of Ajax (with that whole sink into the Abyss and forsake the self and be reborn into a holy infant bit), Dain only talking about him and not the other Harbingers, that whole description of his Foul Legacy that Skirk gave (if you get what I mean), him having to be directly involved in that project Snow or whatever is going on when Arrle said she's just helping with funding, his constellation being broken by the Whale and Skirk's description as his master...Childe is not a background character. He is one of the main players in whatever story is going to be unraveled. Also the part where it's said Skirk saved Childe from that fate, the word they used 'providence' who's definition is 'The protective care of God or of nature as a spiritual power' and that means some relation to the gods which I'm taking as Celestia probably. Childe is definitely crucial in the story.

He's going to be very important to the storyline that is going to be laid out, post Snez I am guessing.

"Give us complex characters!" They can't even handle Childe.

Fans, my ass. They boil characters down to their mediocre understanding and pretend this mediocrity is canon and force this fanon down everyone's throat. I get not liking a character, but having such shallow understanding and such shallow reasoning...is just annoying to me. Like I'm not a big fan of Dazai from BSD but that doesn't mean I won't put in the effort to understand him as a character as well as his backstory and his whole deal. If this shallowness is what gets celebrated and encouraged in the Genshin fandom, then I'm never going to say I'm a part of the fandom.

I have to scrounge through the Ao3 tags to find something that isn't mischaracterization. Like okay, you can't get something 100% canon, I'm not telling anyone to. I just want Childe to be treated as the complex character he is. Childe is THE morally grey guy of Genshin Impact. Treat him as such instead of...whatever the fanon version of him is.

I don't care if someone thinks I'm overreacting with this post. I am allowed to have my opinion on this and well this is my opinion. I am a Childe defender till the day I die, he just ticks off so many boxes for me. Childe as well as Ace Trappola from Twisted Wonderland are kind of in the same area, both are loyal ginger guys with a cheeky personality and a morally grey setting.

I like complex characters and I'd like to see being presented as such instead of the 2D fanon that the fandom tries to shove down my throat.

Okay, so fuck digital-

I decided to re draw it on paper and honestly I'm vibing more with the pencil sketch than the digital drawing.

I'll do the rest of the character designs in my sketchbook, it's gonna be epic yall!

So ya know how 2012 TMNT and LEGO Ninjago were around at almost the same time? Like peak ninja times, my dude.

So like..since last December, I've been having these Elemental Turtles brainworms. (The main cast is inspired by the 2012 one but not exactly the same) and I'm kinda attempting to draw it when I get a new pen for my tablet.

The elements list that I have in mind is as follows and no, there is no prophesied Green saviour here, like there is in Ninjago:

-Leonardo : Water (Cause it feels perfect ngl)

-Raphael : Fire (That one 2012 episode ;D)

-Donatello : Earth (For plot reasons and also cause it'd be really cool)

-Michelangelo : Lightning (Not just cause of that happened in that Newtralizer arc, but also cause it matches his personality imo)

-Splinter : Wind (It'll delve deeper into a spiritual thing later on in my plot)

-April : Psychic (Like ik she has it in 2012 but it suits her so much that I don't wanna give her something else, also has plot purposes)

-Casey : Metal (Plot and cause it'd be fucking metal [pun intended] of him)

-Karai : Ice (Cause yes, just yes. Badass freezing her enemies because she can)

That's it for the most part. I don't want to make Shredder the Garmadon equivalent (cause I ain't doing Garmadon dirty like that, nuh uh) so I'll have to do a bit more thinking whether giving him an element (and if yes, which one?) would suit my plot line.

The characters will also be having their elements on their body, like birthmarks! While not in use, it'll be looking like an actual birthmark (eg: a darker green for the turtles) but when they use it, it'll glow with colour.

Example: For Leo, I'm planning on giving him a water drop mark on his throat (lol iykyk) that normally would be a bit darker than the rest of his green body but when he uses his water powers it'll be blue.

These marks will be something to earn, like how in Ninjago, the ninja had to unlock their true potential. So the first arc will be about that earning and all. The teens don't know what element they're gonna get until they earn it, in a way the element chooses it's weilder. Splinter will be making guesses but not all of it will be right. This Splinter will be inspired by CANON 2012 Splinter btw (none of that fanon abusive bs I keep seeing, they could never make me hate you 12! Splinter 😌)

Also I have many angsty, fluffy etc moments already planned out. Raph...Raph, the mental fuckery you'll be going through...hehehe >:)

I have fun facts too. Which I will reveal if anyone is interested in hearing one.

I also have two original characters in mind who have plot relevance. They're also going to have elements but I'll have to narrow it down a bit cause I have a few ideas for their elements which also will be affecting relationship dynamics depending on what the chosen element is so yeah, I have to give it more thought...

I'm not sure whether to include romance tbh...(I'm a big Ramona guy btw, love that ship) I'll think about it some more after I develop the platonic aspects of the relationships as well as character development.

Another update from me about the whole drawing situation.

Oh yeah, I showed my brother and that mofo said it looked like a toddler drew it and that Leo should be lightning cause they should be the same colour or whatever. Like no, Mikey is lightning and Leo is water cause PERSONALITY-

Me to my bro: BITCH DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU LAST WATCHED BOTH THE 2012 TMNT AND NINJAGO SHOWS MANY YEARS AGO-

According to my brother: Leo should be Lightning, Raph should be Fire, Donnie should be Water and Mikey should be Air/Wind...

So ya know how 2012 TMNT and LEGO Ninjago were around at almost the same time? Like peak ninja times, my dude.

So like..since last December, I've been having these Elemental Turtles brainworms. (The main cast is inspired by the 2012 one but not exactly the same) and I'm kinda attempting to draw it when I get a new pen for my tablet.

The elements list that I have in mind is as follows and no, there is no prophesied Green saviour here, like there is in Ninjago:

-Leonardo : Water (Cause it feels perfect ngl)

-Raphael : Fire (That one 2012 episode ;D)

-Donatello : Earth (For plot reasons and also cause it'd be really cool)

-Michelangelo : Lightning (Not just cause of that happened in that Newtralizer arc, but also cause it matches his personality imo)

-Splinter : Wind (It'll delve deeper into a spiritual thing later on in my plot)

-April : Psychic (Like ik she has it in 2012 but it suits her so much that I don't wanna give her something else, also has plot purposes)

-Casey : Metal (Plot and cause it'd be fucking metal [pun intended] of him)

-Karai : Ice (Cause yes, just yes. Badass freezing her enemies because she can)

That's it for the most part. I don't want to make Shredder the Garmadon equivalent (cause I ain't doing Garmadon dirty like that, nuh uh) so I'll have to do a bit more thinking whether giving him an element (and if yes, which one?) would suit my plot line.

The characters will also be having their elements on their body, like birthmarks! While not in use, it'll be looking like an actual birthmark (eg: a darker green for the turtles) but when they use it, it'll glow with colour.

Example: For Leo, I'm planning on giving him a water drop mark on his throat (lol iykyk) that normally would be a bit darker than the rest of his green body but when he uses his water powers it'll be blue.

These marks will be something to earn, like how in Ninjago, the ninja had to unlock their true potential. So the first arc will be about that earning and all. The teens don't know what element they're gonna get until they earn it, in a way the element chooses it's weilder. Splinter will be making guesses but not all of it will be right. This Splinter will be inspired by CANON 2012 Splinter btw (none of that fanon abusive bs I keep seeing, they could never make me hate you 12! Splinter 😌)

Also I have many angsty, fluffy etc moments already planned out. Raph...Raph, the mental fuckery you'll be going through...hehehe >:)

I have fun facts too. Which I will reveal if anyone is interested in hearing one.

I also have two original characters in mind who have plot relevance. They're also going to have elements but I'll have to narrow it down a bit cause I have a few ideas for their elements which also will be affecting relationship dynamics depending on what the chosen element is so yeah, I have to give it more thought...

I'm not sure whether to include romance tbh...(I'm a big Ramona guy btw, love that ship) I'll think about it some more after I develop the platonic aspects of the relationships as well as character development.

Idk what to name this tbh, while it's inspired by 2012 TMNT, the characters will not be the same. There will be differences in personality and dynamics. If anyone has any ideas, comment it down, thanks! (When I name my fics, the titles get poetic and a tad too long for a title)
