She nearly kicked herself for mentioning her old home- it always bummed her out big time when she remembered what she had lost. But when he asked his questioned, Tomoko bowed her head to answer it anyways. 

“My family used to be situated in Takayama... a secluded village hidden by the mountains, for our safety. My father was involved with... bad people. We couldn’t stay for long. But...” Tomoko trailed off, glancing to the side and debating whether it’d be appropriate to tell the full story. 

Tomoko solemnly lifted her head and smiled politely. 

“When I first saw you, I got so excited! Samurai don’t really exist in my time... it was so fun to watch you swing your katana, even if it was to my own detriment- Do you think we could ever spar? Or... Or.... I don’t know if this is too presumptuous, but I’d love to learn the ways of the Samurai from a real Samurai!” 

Tomoko got back into her habit of babbling, words quickly falling out of her mouth in her excitement- but she hoped that he would understand.

From years of hosting traditional parties for the family and being taught the proper etiquette among the bosses and their charges, Tomoko knew a thing or two about how a man like him should be treated. She knew just where she was supposed to sit and even how she was supposed to sit, carrying herself with a decorum not many would expect from someone like her. 

Hands clasped in her lap, Tomoko gave another bow in return, a bit shocked that someone like him would extend to her such a warm welcome. 

“My name is Tominaka Tomoko. I assure you, I’m just a simple woman with a lot of curiosity!” She answered him, lifting her palm to cover her mouth when she smiled, flicking her eyes to the side after briefly communicating her joy with them. “Thank you for inviting me inside! Everything here is so beautiful… I can tell there was so much care put into everything. If I may be truthful, it… it reminds me of my family’s estate back at home.”
