Okay, so, I grew up in a small town that has twelve or so years ago rocked by a horrific crime. Someone robbed a hair salon, which was maintained by a single hairdresser in her 50s. During the robbery our stylist was nearly killed when the thief clobbered her on the head with a log (in the middle of a town, no idea where he got a log but here we are). Fortunately she recovered fully.

I used to visit the same stylist and some witnesses saw the guy, describing him as young man, thin, dark hair. Naturally, that described me perfectly and landed me on the list of suspects. So one nice day while in school I was called to the director’s office, where there were two detectives explaining their situation and asked me some questions. They were quite polite, I answered, they decided I wasn’t their guy and I never heard from them again.

The actual case was very high profile and I’m sure my Czech friends know what I’ve been describing. A guy was sentenced for the robbery twice, but there were some issues and to this day I’m convinced that maybe he actually did it, but the evidence used against him wasn’t enough for a proper judgement.

Also fun fact, the robber is named Nečesaný, literally meaning “Messy-haired.”

And he got jailed for almost murdering a hairdresser.

Literally me. When I was in high school, I was once interrogated by the police, because I was a suspect in an attempted murder investigation. (I didn’t do it, I just fit the description and was at the crime scene shortly before it happened)

Anyways, I didn’t find this worthy of sharing with my parents until my mum found out on her own the next day. And boy was she scared that I was in trouble.
