Flake Free Fall Skincare
From summer to autumn our skin undergoes harsh UV rays to cool fall air in a blink of an eye. This week in upstate NY, I’ve seen temperatures shoot from high 70’s to cool 40’s. Hello 40 degree weather change. I wasn’t expecting you so fast! To be honest my skin wasn’t either. Luckily my skin care game is always on point. I was ready to face the foliage with my skin flake free. Changing weather patterns can be a challenge to our summer glow we kept up for the last few months. From dry cracked lips to irritated dry skin. We have all been there. This year let’s beat old man winter to it with facial sprays and lip scrubs galore! He will never see it coming. Hello holiday glow I am coming for you girl!
Here are my best tips and 5 current favs to keep you and your skin plumped, flake free, and fabulous.
Product #1 Cocokind Organic Rosewater Facial Toner
Facial toners are so important all year round. They improve hydration levels in our skin. This will help fight the flake! From the heat in your house, to your car, and the wind blowing, our skin is in deep need of some h20. This toner is fab! So gentle, has a light rose scent and DOESN’T CONTAIN ALCOHOL WHICH CAN FURTHER DRY OUT OR IRRITATE YOUR SKIN.
Skin Tip! Spritz some rose water toner in between you day to improve hydration levels and improve your mood. It’s like a quick spa treatment during your lunch break. If your skin is still suffering try adding a humidifier to your home or bedroom.
Product #2 Leah Lani Honey Love
Open up this gold polished beauty and you are drifted to the beautiful Hawaiian island of Kauai. I use this an enzyme exfoliator. Apply to damp skin using circular motion let it sit on your skin to absorb all the organic ingredients and work mermaid magic. I leave it on for 3 to 5 minutes. Wash it off and my skin is glowing from the inside out. Any dry patches are gone and I’m ready to continue my skincare ritual.
Skin Tip! Follow up with a hydrating serum or oil during colder months. Remember to pat these product in with loads of self-care. If you are an oily gal don’t fret! Oils help fight against too much oil production in your skin. Try an organic chia seed oil that absorbs into the skin quickly without leaving you an oily mess. A couple drops is all you need. #glowgirl
Product #3 Urban Oreganics Lip Scrub
This lip scrub is a citrus basil scent. It’s like an aromatherapy treatment and lip exfoliator all in one. Take a tiny bit out. Less than the pad of your pinky finger and rub across you lippies. Remove with a damp cloth and look at how those flakes and fine lines from the cold just disappear.
Product #3 Argan Republic Pumpkin Vanilla Lip Shimmer
I love festive products and scents. When Argan Republic started their beauty box last month this was included. Definitely something to check out to all my green beauty babes who love or are converting to green and non-toxic beauty. It’s a beautiful light pumpkin color that works as a natural lip with a light shimmer. Filled with nourishing oils, including argan, coconut and pumpkin seed oil. Be on the lookout @interpretbeauty Instagram for a swatch of this beauty.
Product #4 Jane Iredale Lip Drink SPF 15
When visiting a local organic salon I was recommended the Jane Iredale lip balm with spf 15. With sleek packaging it’s an eco-chic buy that all ladies need to protect their pout. Jane uses titanium dioxide in her balm. Titanium dioxide is a non-toxic ingredient that blocks uva/uba rays. Your lips are at risk of sun damage too! No worries though, this lemongrass scented balm will put you at ease as you apply. This balm DOES NOT LEAVE A WHITE CAST. HALLELUJAH. The search is over babes. A chemical free lip balm with spf, and zero white cast.
Product #5 Eco lips Bee Free Vegan Unscented Lip Balm
Looking for a vegan lip balm? Eco lips makes an unscented bee free balm that I love to use before bed to seal in moisture. Its cruelty free, gluten free, fair trade, and vegan. I found this in my vegan cuts box a couple of months ago. It is made out of organic oils, vegetable wax and fair trade cocoa butter and coconut oil. This is a serious soother for chapped, dry and irritated lips. It goes on smooth and leaves your lips plumped as a pumpkin!
Enjoy the fall season beauties with a pumpkin spice latte or pumpkin vanilla lip balm.
-Love and green beauty vibes Gabrielle

Slow Movement for Healing
This week I signed up for 60 minutes of slow restorative movement. I, along with a few other women took the time to start our week to heal our emotional and physical bodies. I started upon arrival to seek out my thoughts and let them flow as they may. I wanted to let the universe know I was open to all it needed me to release and hear. I walked into the low lit room and grabbed a yoga mat, blocks, and blankets. To start the class we all took a place along the wall with a blanket to support our head and neck. “Place your legs along the wall and take a nice deep breathe in.” “Start with an intention and may you release anything that no longer serves you.” Many breaths passed and most ended with a sigh of release of anything that no longer served me or my body. I then greeted my mat with my body and sat up with my legs crossed. I then started to move my hips in circles to restore movement to my joints and remove toxins. Next I uncrossed my legs and spread them out a little more than hip length apart. Starting at the ankles on the outside of our bodies we all started tapping out the unwanted or stuck energies in our bodies and circulated the good. Working my way up to my chest I felt lighter. I felt the release of the energy leaving me making room for new growth. We ended in shavasana. I put a bolster under my knees for support, a blanket under my head and one over me to keep all the warmth and good energy in. Wounds can be so deep and stuck in our bodies that we don’t even know they exist. Connecting with your body in such a slow and intimate way can improve the relationship that you have with yourself. Be slow. Be light. Be present in your healing journey.
May love and light always be with you,
Gabrielle

Cocokind Skincare Reveiw
Cocokind skincare found me when I was out shopping looking for a new skincare routine. I deal with breakouts, hormonal acne, and pigmentation and combination skin. What caught my attention right away was the USDA organic label on the box. Still hesitant and wanting to do more research I waited. A week or so later their facial repair serum arrived at my door in my vegan cuts box. A beauty box subscription catering to the vegan gal or guy in mind. Which is great for me seeing as every product is dairy free (they put whey protein in everything now and I’m allergic to dairy) and, always cruelty free. I put these products to the test for two weeks. I started oil cleansing with their facial oil. At first I couldn’t just cleanse with this, it felt like I had too much moisture and grabbed another cleanser to make sure I was removing all dirt and debris. With avocado oil, coconut and tea tee oil my breakouts were no match for this natural trio. I learned to like the ways of oil cleansing. I found myself spending more time and care to my skin at the end of the day and really working the oil in and rinsing well. Next a spritz of the rosewater facial toner and my skin is lightly kissed by a sweet bouquet of roses. This toner is nothing over powering, perfect for a pick me up, over makeup for some moisture and especially when traveling in warmer climates. The holy grail of products in their line is their facial repair serum. This has a very smooth texture, the smell of coconut and rose is nice and warm to the senses and, the application is heaven. This serum right here is beautiful for healing acne, dry patches, too much oil production and, everything in between. The last step is the firming eye oil. Just a half pump of this this give my eyes some extra attention and moisture. This was a skin care line in my opinion that is simple in all the right ways. It’s a company that is truly focused on organic and fair trade ingredients for your best skin. Within two weeks I saw my skin more plump with moisture, no new breakouts, post acne marks reduced and one happy Gab. If I had to pick two of the products that I would repurchase it would be the facial serum and the rose toner. This is a must try line for all skin types. Who doesn’t need more coconut oil in that life?
If you’re wanting to try Cocokind for yourself use COUPON CODE (OHMC8Q10BDYR) for 20% you entire purchase.
Much love and Happy Friday,
Gab

How Mantras Shift Our Thinking Patterns
Mantras are direct forms of communication to the universe. The universe is always listening to your words, vibration and what you reaffirm over and over in your mind. When manifesting change one thing needs to be clear. Everything you do plays an important part. Wishing, hoping and no action gets you exactly where you are. We need movement, energy and pure intent to make our lives happy, healthy, and filled with joy.
Start out with a vision, scribbled words on a piece of paper, pictures, a dream board, whatever gets your energy and excitement going over your desires. Next affirm this vision with affirmations. Start with 5 centered thoughts to inspire your movement towards your wants.
Mine for the week include the following
1. The universe hears my dreams and is lining me up to create them.
2. I live with joy in my spirit.
3. I seek peaceful opportunities for peaceful purposes.
4. I am grounded in peace
5. I create and surround myself in abundant happiness
Now reaffirm these with daily use of making it known these are your true desires. You need these tools to create a life you want to manifest. Write these down, text them to yourself, set them as your background, and most importantly say these aloud every day. Lastly watch the magic of manifesting your dreams spark and be humble and patient awaiting the roaring fire of your dreams.
Your guide to everything magic,
Gabrielle.
