Interview with Synaptik

1. At first we would like to thank you for accepting invitation to our podcast. Could you please introduce who is behind pseudonym Synaptik?
I would like to thank for opportunity. I don’t like writing about myself. I’m playing now for 7 years, it’s a hobby.
I more eclectic than narrowly focused. I like things, which people call melancholic, but not only. It can be classified as ambient, techno, deep house, down-tempo, electronic, but everybody will imagine different thing behind that.
I also play energic and raw techno, but to record something like that at home, it’s not easy for me. I keep it for actions, somewhere in the basement.
2, Which is your favourite festival at home or foreing scene where you would like to popup and it would be strong experience for you?
I am not festival type of guy so I don’t really have an overview. I like to play at festivals, but I go to smaller one day actions.
I heard praise for festivals in Poland Unsound and Ambient. In Czech republic I liked Freez Fest, BIO where I was stunned from sound, and Rosnicka was also nice. I heard that Creepy Teepee is also good.
3, Which club you visit regulary and why?
Kind of often I go to AVOID Floating Gallery. For me it’s most cool and most normal boat placed at Naplavka in Prague.
People, environment, quality of music and actions in general. I also go to Cafe Nova Doba at Letna, where I like atmosphere. It feels like home. Sometimes I go to Futurum at Smichov. The space is very special for the electronic scene, yet is unrecognized, but it has potential. If you really care where I go regulary, it’s non-stop cafeteria Marjanka at Andel where you can have "Svickova" at 3AM morning.
4, What is your DJ setup?
Classic - turntables, mix.
5, What is the first thought when you hear word IN:TNSTY?
In context of your podcast, first thing that popped up was "rychta" but now, I know it’s not like that. It's colorful.

Interview with Josefina Muñoz

1, We are very glad that you accepted invitation to IN:TNSTY Podcast. Could you please introduce yourself to our fans?
My name is Josefina Muñoz. I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I'm dj / producer. I've been in the electronic music world for over a decade, but it's been over three years since I started my DJ career. I recently joined the Asalto Reserve, where they promote the national scene in their monthly cycle. This month, on the 26th, is the celebration of its first anniversary, where I will have the honor to inaugurate the evening in back to back format with Daniel Vallejos, the artist Asalto. They will also play that night Mental Resonanceb2bAlderaan, FU 5b2bAcid D, Ivan Monzonb2bDrowned.My step into production is much more recent. I've been taking classes for a while, and very slowly I'm starting to edit. Last month, my second ep called "The soul does not die" went on sale for the Argentine label Apical Records. We expect another release for another national label, such as Up and At`em, by the end of July. For the latter, last year was released a cd called "The thing in" by Diego Cid, which included a remix of my own. The cd was something very good, since they were made only 100 copies and not sold digitally. The truth is that I am very happy for how it is going my way. Efforts are bearing fruit.
2, Because we would like to know you better, could you please describe how your usual week look like?
My weeks are not very common. Since I do not have fixed days in my work, I am coordinating the different days each week. I try to distribute my activities in a way that gives them a logical continuity.
3, How does club scene in Buenos Aires looks like? Please describe atmosphere at the weekend in clubs.
The national scene is making a lot of noise. There are many new cycles and agencies where they focus exclusively on national artists. Every weekend there are different proposals with high level of local artists. I see support between cycles over the competition and that generates a message of union, people feel it. I have gone to several of them and the climate that is generated is positive. I am happy to be part of it, contributing a little of myself and seeing how it grows day by day.
4, We noticed that you played with Alderaan recently. could you please describe your feelings on stage?
It is always a pleasure to share a cabin with talented people. Close after his big session was not easy. It was a great night.
5, What are your criteria for tracks selection into the set for podcast and dj set for party? What is your inspiration?
When I choose tracks for a podcast I try to express my emotions, how I feel. I try to tell a brief story of generally 60 minutes, not as easy as it seems, at least for me.And for a concert, it's very different, it's not just up to me. Here comes the audience and how they feel too. I have clear where I want to take with the music, but this is a return of energy. I feel more comfortable playing live than after a recorded session. I have more fun, it's what I like to be a DJ.
6, Please, describe your dj setup. Are you going to prepare something special for Intnsty podcast?
To record this podcast use my set, the one I have in my house. I have a mixer xone 43 and two cdjs pioneer 350.To insity prepare a selection of tracks that represent me. It includes several domestic producers with whom I feel identified. I even encouraged to put an original mine. I want to show them as I am. My story.
7, Can you remember your first party? What was your inspiration to start doing techno?
Yes, like forgetting my first party. It was something really amazing. I was in charge of closing the night. It was a party called TechGroove that took place in a famous and mystical hostel in San Telmo, known by Ohito. A really incredible place. I was very nervous since it was my first presentation. The place was packed with people. About 6:30 am, my turn came. The session went very fast. I had so much fun, my nerves faded. The public response was more than I expected. It really is a night that will never be erased from my memory. The truth, that my true inspiration, is my great teacher, Michel Lauriola. He was the one who taught me the techniques of dijing and gave me lessons in production. If today I do techno, it's Michel's fault.
8, Have you ever visited Europe? If not, in which country you´d like to spend your time.
I did not have the opportunity to be in Europe yet. I think if I had to choose a country it would be Spain. I am attracted enough by its culture and history. Barcelona would be a good place to spend some time.
9, Do you have some other activities, except for music, what describes you more?
I like to cook a lot, I could aladrear of that I am a great cook but I am not going to do haha I have worked throughout my life in the gastronomic category. So I feel the kitchen as my place too. There I can be. It distracts me a lot from my day. It connects me and I can entertain my beings. It is very similar to music in the kitchen.I like gardening a lot. Step tardes dedicated to plants. I like to spoil them. With my partner, it is an activity that we like to do together. It connects us to the roots.
10, Please tell us three tracks you played last year which were in every of your sets.
Gama - Michel Lauriola, Blok 5 - Casper Hastings Remix, Peruana - Luca Angelli Remix
11, What is your first though when you see or hear word Intensity?
When I hear intensity it refers to something strong, with power. Something that if you are not prepared takes you ahead. We must always be as prepared as possible, so that when it is intense, we can approach it.

Interview with yELLEn
1. Hi, we really appreciate that you acctepted invitation to our podcast. Could you please introduce yourself to our listeners?
Thank you for invitation! I am really glad that I have opportunity to share my selection with your listeners. I am 1/4 of Polish dj's collective Electrified established by Anja Kraft. Aside from playing in clubs or festivals you can hear my selection from time to time in Radio Kampus broadcast as a guest in their audtitions ( Basstronomy, Sety Didżejskie).
2. How did you came up with your pseudonym „yELLEn“?
Yellen or Yellin is elder version of actual Polish version of my real name (Alicja Jelinska). The elder version was used until beginning of XXth century I guess :) Since I remember people always have called me Jelen which in Polish language means deer. I use horns in my visual comunnication very often :)
3. How and why did you got to electronical music and what is your inspiration?
My first experience with electronical music that was off the mainstream was in 2002 when I came to music theathre to see my friend's performance - she was a dancer in physical theatre. Music that was used in the piece was among others Bjork , Thom Yorke, Massive Attack ,Faithless, Orbital. I was really amazed so I decided that I want to be a part of this world and started my dance and music education in the same theatre. Everything that connects with art in a broad sense is my inspiration. I am really pleased when I have opportunity to work with VJ's , performers etc. Currently I have started work on my own music for my friend's performance that will have it's premiere in theatre in Autumn 2017.
4. What did you prefer – analog or digital?
I really respect analog but for now digital is my world.
5. Not so long ago Anja Kraft was our guest. We noticed that you work together at electrified. How is your cooperation going?
Anja is one of the most important persons I have met in my dj career. Many people in my life was supporting and encouraging me to stand behind decks but she was the one who gave me my first booking and oportunity to share my selection with people in club. We have completely different characters so we complement each other but sometimes it's really electrifying :)
6. Tell us your favourite spot where you always return to play or just to enjoy the party.
Sfinks 700 is close to my heart and in my opinion it is the most interesting place in Poland . I have seen many spots but this one has specific atmosphere and really good vibe. I am proud that I had opportunity to play there couple of months ago with Anja - it was only a year after my first gig ever and this was one of my young dreams to play there.
7. What is your best music experience?
My best music experience so far is yet to come with my live act in Autumn but my best dj experience is my gig in club Smolna where I was supporting Miss Kittin - the biggest club and audience so far that gave my a lot self confidence.
8. What is your the best of line up you would like to attend?
Kangding Ray, Tommy Four Seven , Akkord , Wata Igarashi, Pessimist and ...Alix Perez :)
9.What is your first thought when you see word Intensity?
ENERGY!!!

Interview with Segment

1. We’d like to thank you for your time. Could you please introduce yourself as Segment to our listeners?
Hi, it’s my pleasure. I had different pseudonym before, but I wasn’t very satisfied with it. So, I started thinking about new one and I reached for mathematical alphabet. First, I liked was Segment and I sticked with it.
2. What are your criteria for tracks selection into the set for podcast and dj set for party? What is your inspiration?
Tracks selection for podcast is almost similar to what I present on party. But, it’s true that in podcast you have more freedom and you can experiment little bit more. About selection for parties, I want to give people what they want at the moment. It’s different when you are starting the party, and when you are closing the lineup. It depends on what is going on dance floor. What inspires me? I like metal music, so lately that is my inspiration. There is lot of stuff, often it’s nature, what’s going on around me, personal feelings.
3. We found out that alongside DJing, you arrange own events with interesting guests, where was introduced also our favorite producer Michal Jablonski. Can you describe COME IN and next plans with it?
COME IN was established few years ago in Hradec Kralove with my friend, where we started in local clubs and bars. After the while it started to spread to other towns and we also organized open air. Sadly my colleague had to end, and whole activities stayed on me and my girlfriend, it was difficult and later the Citty joined us and we settled in Prague, where we started to make events and sometime also in Hradec. We are trying to present most interesting projects and mostly skilled producers.
4. How did you get to electronic music, eventually production?
I found out about electronic music thanks to older friends. Back then I was very young, and we had lot’s of cassettes from Poland like Terodrom etc. , but most of the news I had from magazines which were sold here. My first event was in 97, when lots of stuff was going on and we had been able to go to big party every 14 days. I’m quite able to say that really big names played there.
5. What were you doing on new years eve?
I spent new years evening in chilled mood. I went to nearby ZOO with good whiskey and after return chill with mates in our local pub. Old year was celebrated very well.
6. What is your first thought when you hear word Intensity?
In my mind it’s nothing else but bangin sound from some big speakers on cool techno party.

Interview with Dash

1, At first, we would like to thank you for interview. Could you please introduce yourself to our fans as Dash?
Thanks for the invite, I’m thinking how to introduce myself. My name is Dáša and that’s where my DJ pseudonym came from. I play electronic music for 7 years, which predates years of playing various musical instruments. Except of playing I’m still working on audiovizual events, where together with friends we are trying to connect artistic side with sound, or to exceed not just to musical sector.
2,Please describe your activity in Duna. Does that moved you farther musically?
I am not that long in Duna, and cannot tell if it moved me somehow, but it’s fine to have great co-workers and not to be alone
3, What about you and videogames? Have you played Duna? Are you afraid to come out of bed at night because of Shai-Hulud?
Time ago I played games on PC, mostly Duke Nukem 3D, GTA, Red Alert, Drakan etc.. but I don’t know about Duna so I have no idea what are you talking about.
4. Does your music have any influence on your friend? What are the reactions?
I hope that my music influence everybody who is listening. Reactions of friends are mostly positive, but I am happy for any criticism because there is always lot of space to improve.

Interview with Silhouette

1, Hi, at the beginning please introduce yourself to us. Who is Chik and Silhouette and what is the difference between these two names.
Hi, My name is Karel and I work with music more than 10 years. Chik was my first project in High school. At first I was trying to produce hip hop music but it was never publishable. When I started making dubstep, my production started make sense and album Different Sounds was created in 2010. Back then I started listening also to techno, and when I started to produce it I felt that it needed to be separated. People who knew me because of A51 wouldn’t be happy about it, so I needed fresh start. From that moment most of my time I am spending at Silhouette project and I’m enjoying it much more. Whether classic techno, and more recently, ambient and soundtrack songs.
2, How did you like playing after Ben Klock on nite vibes? Was it challenging for you?
I kind of went through it few months before Nite Vibes when I played before Robert Hood on Komiks. On Nite Vibes it was little bit harder because I played after headliner. At last it was fine because it is strongest experience for me behind the mix.
3. Is party fun for you or inspiration?
I have always been kind of party freak, but now I am trying to moderate myself because it’s lot better for me in case of playing. Party was never inspiration for me but on my new EP a dedicated one track to Nite Vibes with Klock. It’s kind of big room and it remind me of the atmosphere on that night
4. Have you ever been on boundary between music and...?
I played hockey and I was also doing music but at the end I didn’t like it that much so it was easy. Now it’s harder because I have family and I need to take care of different things. I don’t have that much time for music but I will never let it go.
5. Which three words pop up in your mind when you hear or see word Intensity
Kick, Sub, Clap
6. Whatever you have on your mind what you want to share with others.
I finished Red Tunnel EP as Silhouette and it’s released by Dirty Corner Recordings. I have three solo things there, one feat with Rzah and one remix by NBUG from Liberec
7. Do you need to work on new things? Is this also reflected on set which you made for us?
I am trying to produce when it’s possible, but sometimes I do nothing for a month. I included two new songs from EP, which I finished, one feat with Dryman and one older thing which was made by me as a Chik and was my first techno beat. For me revolutionary track in my production and I enjoy it still now.

Interview with Julianna

1,We are very glad that you accepted invitation to IN:TNSTY Podcast. Could you please introduce yourself to our fans? Hello everybody! Thank you for the nice invitation to be part of your podcast. My name is Julianna, I’m a Dj from Medellín - Colombia (South America) currently working in different projects in my country. I have a record store named Doce and also produce events with some friends in a project named Move. In my daily life I work as an illustrator. 2,Because we would like to know you better, could you please describe how your usual week look like?
Well… it depend on what's going on every day, but usually I wake up really early in the morning, try to make exercise and then I work some time on illustration while I listen to music. Then in the afternoon I go and work at the record shop until night. 3,If it was up to you, which European club will you choose to play in and what song will you play at the midnight in front of European fans? Well… when i went to Europe I felt in love with Robert Johnson in Frankfurt. I'm really into small and intimate venues and I would love to play there someday. It’s hard to choose a track, you know… it depends of the crowd and the mood of the night. 4,Describe your activities in Doce, Move and AMME. Could you please describe these titles to people who don’t recognize them? What they offer to them? Doce (spanish word for 'twelve') it’s my record store and coffee shop located in my hometown (Medellín) I co-run it alongside Merino and Natalia Rios. Move it’s my group of friends who I work with and do events in my city. We are almost 14 people involved in the project and we have been working for almost 3 years together bringing our vision in electronic music to this little place in Colombia. I'm part of the artists roster, part of the creative group and communication department. AMME it's a beautiful platform created by Natalia Rios. The first edition happened earlier this year and it was a two day conference. I work as well in the communication department. 5,How does club scene in Medellin look like? We noticed that you play often in Mansion club. Please describe atmosphere at the weekend. Yes! I’m currently one of the residents of Mansion Club. The club scene here in Medellín it's growing up. At the moment we just have 3 clubs and you know Colombia has a lot of folklore. Most of the people here dance and listen to another type of music. Even with that thing going on, we have a very strong scene that have been dancing for around 15-18 years. Mansion Club it’s (for me) the most amazing club in the city. Small, intimate and also with a very cult crowd, so you can go out of your comfort zone without any problem…I love to play there. 6,Are you addicted to something? Damn…to Coca Cola…I hate /love it 7,What is your first though when you see or hear word Intensity? Pressure!!!!! A lot of bass pressure
