INTOXICATING VALENTINE ROUND - CLAIMING STARTS!

A little later than we would have wanted but we are finally launching our claiming post! If you are interested, please do read the guidelines and general rules! Here is a refresher, though, about regular claiming information that applies in this round!

CLAIMING

-First come first serve! So be quick when it comes to sign-ups!

-Claiming will be done through google forms and mods will get to you as soon as possible and officially welcome you to the fic fest through e-mail.

-Can I claim if I haven’t sent in a prompt? Totally! You don’t need to have taken part in the prompting process in order to pick the prompt of your nbin dreams.

-Please, do read carefully over your prompts, read the lyrics, dislikes and plus points! You have all the creative freedom for this but do consider anything triggering your prompter may have listed in their prompt.

-You can claim more than one song AT ANY MOMENT during fest time if you have signed up and once you have your first fic done! For this you just drop us a DM on Twitter so that we can reopen the claiming form for you (for formalities that's all!) Remember since this is a holiday ish festival you can write to your heart's content if inspired by the songs--and we are excited to see where they take you.

-Can I claim a song I have submitted? No one will ever know so go ahead!

-To all participants: do remember to tag your work accordingly! (rating, triggering topics and whatnot) and to read the general guidelines post to know what is allowed and isn't before you claim!

-Posting will not be done until the date that we have specified even if you have your fic completed~! we will let you know more on a post about it.

PROMPTING INFO+ FORM //INTOXICATING VALENTINE ROUND

Onto the really good stuff! Welcome to the prompting process of this special round! We know we usualy announce things with the calendar FIRST but, time is rushing so we have to be quick so we will drop the dates here right now! 

The prompting process for this round starts from the moment this post goes live on Jan 9th, 2021 until January 14th, 2021! 

Now, with that out of the way, we will know explain what the prompting is about in this round. It is quite strange for a song prompt round to be tackled like this, but as we have said, we want everyone to participate and feel happy while doing so. 

Intoxicating team once again wants to make things so that everyone has fun and it becomes another unforgetabble experience.

So if you are eager to prompt and send the songs that scream to your heart, then this is your time to shine! Let’s make a nice library of song prompts!

This is one of the most entertaining parts but, let’s refresh some things first! Remember that Intoxicating runs under a duality concept so, things are like this:

INTOXICATINGLY SWEET

Anything that falls under the category of: light hearted romance, fluff, slice of life, comedy, light angst with a happy ending, fantasy and anything that is light, sweet and saccharine will go here.From love at first sight to stories about first love and confessions, all that is cute, adorable and light is allowed. No heavy topics will be part of this - do remember this is the ‘cherry cherry grape grape’ side of the fest! Cutesy, sweet, playful, funny and soft! 

So if you have any k-pop song that is soft, sweet, light and that makes butterflies flutter in your stomach then you have to choose this side in the prompting form!

FULLY INTOXICATING

A lot of people love to get a little heavier genre wise. Anything that is enthralling and alluring or mesmerizingly dark will go in this side. Angsty love stories, dark romance, forbidden romances, explicit smut ( be it pwp or with plot), any kind of au that tackles with more heavy topics, that captures the captivating side of nbin will be part of this side.

Any sad or heartbreaking song? or that type of song that is just so entrancing you can’t help but swoon about it? it goes here.

-PROMPTING RULES-

-Ratings for the fic fest can go from G to E.

- There will be fields for you to express your dislikes and + extra points so do make use of them wisely! but since this is a song prompt fest, the writer will have a lot of creative freedom here. 

-Songs gotta be K-pop ones so that we all are on the same page because it’s something we all have in common! They can be from girl groups, boy groups, soloists, bands, indies, VIXX themselves, drama OSTs, whichever you want. 

-Please, add a link to the song you are sending! To te MV if it’s available

-Since we aren’t fully prompting here, what you will do is send your favourite part of the songs, those lyrics that resonate, those ones that call out to you! that way the writer can get an idea of what kind of vibe you would like.

-If there are any topics that you find triggering, please don’t forget to add them to the dislikes field in the prompting form. Do mention anything that makes you uncomfortable so that the writer is aware of what they will have to avoid.

-We will have an +extra points field but remember the rules of the fest still apply so don’t ask for anything that falls under:  non-con / dub-con / rape / incest / pedophilia / extreme gore / incest / extreme or dangerous kinks. 

-Don’t use the the +extra field to prompt the way you want the story to go ! remember you can say what you would like (i.e oh maybe if this was a first date au! ) but can’t au it yourself. 

-Yes you can express if you want something spicy there. 

-You can prompt even if you won’t be writing, it’s about sending songs after all!

With that being said, and because we have to move fast and start collecting those prompts so that we can make this an actual Valentine’s event, you can start prompting right now! Please help us reach a nice amount of prompts and who knows? maybe discover new music <3

General Guidelines + rules

A quick reminder of the guidelines that usually are part of this fest and hence, will also apply to this round! 

-It’s a must for you to have an ao3 account in order to post your work! So in case you are interested and haven’t managed to get one yet, please ask for an invitation here!

-Prompting and claiming will be done through Google Forms, as usual!

-There is no need to sign up in order to prompt, you are free to submit as many prompts as you want (please we are going to need them!)

-If you have finished your first claimed song and are feeling like tackling one of the other songs from the list, you can say the word! 

-The minimum WC is 500 words, up to how much you can write? to your heart’s content <3

- There is no need to check in with your work in this round, instead, given the nature of this round, we will just e-mail the participants and will only want a confirmation from them that they are indeed stil on board with us!

-The works that can be submitted can be drabbles, ficlets, oneshots or the start of a chaptered fic that you want to finish after the round! There is no need for you to submit a work that is 100% done so don’t need to worry if you didn’t finish in the case your story got too long!

-The fics however must be standalone works, no sequels, prequels or be part of a series.

-Hakyeon/Hongbin must be the main focus of the work since this is an nbin centric fic fest. So it has to be the main pairing yes or yes. The pov you choose to write from? Can be either of them! (and please since this is a Valentine’s round, let’s not give them heartbreak! or if you do then please a light at the end of the tunnel <3)

-Entries are to be tagged accordingly, do mention any kind of triggering topics if there are.

-Remember, always be nice this is for fun so flaming and hateful comments are not tolerated in nbin nation >:[ we love our writers and we will be their shield <3

-Communication is a MUST between mods and participants, so please if we email you then do let us know that you received it! that way we won’t be panicking ;; Everything will be tweeted so in the case we have mentioned that we have sent emails nad you haven’t got it, please let us know ASAP.

-The fest is nbin centric so ot3+ isn’t allowed [past ships, for the sake of plot however is allowed but remember, nbin is the focus]

Welcome to Intoxicating: VALENTINE ROUND

Welcome back nbin nation! Can you feel the love in the air?

Hello there, we would like to welcome you to this very special AND fast round, this is a valentine’s project so it’s meant to be a chill round. It’s not going to be as time consuming as bingo  and we hope that you are onboard this time (let’s make Hongbin act up so badly around Hakyeon, I’m sure we all want that--). 

This is a different format than other years, we had put up a poll on our twitter which format would be best and the one that won is: song format.

We were going to release a list of songs for you to claim from, but as usual, we also want our lovely prompters to be able to interact so we ended up tweaking that a bit!

As you know, our main goal is to make all nbin enthusiasts out there happy~ all of this done by interacting with nbin nation and helping adding more fics of this precious ship to the tags - so whether you are one of our lovely prompters/readers or part of the writers who took part in the last two rounds or you are JUST stumbling upon this fest: do help us spread the word and be part of our nbin enthusiasts family!

Let’s also make the tag grow during this Special Valentine’s event!

WHAT’S THIS ROUND’S FORMAT?

By voting, this round’s format has ended up taking the form of a song prompt fest! There will be a prompt library available to you, which we will build up together throughout the prompting period so that it ends up being a group work kind of thing <3 and so that everyone has fun!

The songs will be divided also in the same fashion as we have done for the past rounds (Intoxicatingly sweet and Fully intoxicating) there will be a bit of a regular prompting take in this too that you will be able to see in the prompt form and which will be explained on the prompting post.

Other than that, there is no need to come with an ‘actual’ prompt or situation or anything! Regarding the claiming, it will be a first come first serve basis! and not as complicated as the bingo round! It will resemble (ha) the first round!

The home for all the nbin fics that will come out of this? Ao3. The timezone you ask? EST as usual! 

COMMUNICATION

We will communicate with participants mainly through e-mails. If you have any questions, if there is any problem which we can help you with (be it writing-wise or any other thing that may get in the way)  please do NOT hesitate to write to us! 

This fest relies HEAVILY in teamwork, that means between prompters, writers, readers and obviously mods! You as public also are part of intoxicating and can help us make this small round a success! This nbin business sounds really good to you by now? want to really help the fest also succeed on this round? We hope it’s like that! 

There is never enough chabin, never ever, so if you are up for this lovey dovey Valentine’s mission (or just want to make Hongbin cringe cos ugh r o m a n c e ) then you can participate by prompting, writing, reading (this is VERY important because the writers that participate deserve ALL the love) and also by just being there with us! Summary: Vorago has always been seen as the definition of perfection--its unbiased justice a form of true love for the nation it holds dear under its name. Something which once rang of truth now becoming a bittersweet lie, one which makes Hongbin unable to comprehend how judgement twisted to the point it now finds itself trapped in a deception. A gracious place now taking the darker meaning of its name.A tarnished garden by the void, entangled in threads reeking of sulphur--a slow downfall to its purity. And Hongbin's name is forced to be forgotten--until thorns reach him in an attempt to suffocate him.

Author notes : And at last, the biggest project which intoxicating team decided to tackle comes to be a reality. An idea that expanded and turned into a world which we didn't expect would end as big as it did plot wise and magnitude wise. INTOXICATING 1.5 //BINGO ROUND - CLAIMING STARTS

The time has finally come, thank you to everyone who has sent in their prompts and have helped us expand this library. Now you will be able to read through the database and choose prompts that will be part of your card!

Since this is a bingo round in its own special and inclusive kind of way, here are a few suggestions/reminders:

- If your aim is to make bingo and help the nbin tag by uploading more works to it, choose your main/main prompts wisely! You can go for light and open (though those will definitely be in your card) or you can choose what you really want to write and post a chapter if you don't manage to finish.

- If there are only a few that interest you, try to be quick! It will be first come first serve for your 1-3 main prompts.

-Remember that you can change your card

-Remember that this is for fun and you can write even just one fic out of your whole card or write as many as you wish.

-Don't forget that if you feel caged by the prompts or if you want more freedom in order to write more ficlets/short stories or to take the story any way you wish, you can always request the Hints of Intoxication card!
