I'm gonna marry you one day

I wrote another short Tamsand story because inspiration is everywhere and I am obsessed with them.

Modern au! Tamsand. Hidden from the public relationship. Fluff. Mention of Tamlin being younger but it's only by a couple years. Business man Rhys.

Rhys was stressed.

It was the night of his fathers company's big gala, and he was left in charge of it. It was a test, he knew. One his father was using to see if he was ready and competent enough to take over the company. Which he was, but try telling that to his father.

He'd gotten ready ages ago and has been pacing the kitchen floor ever since. His tie was undone. His hair was a mess. He had a terrible habit of running his fingers through his hair whenever he was stressed, which was... unfortunate. All you could hear was the sound of his shoes clicking on the wood floor and the sighs he let out every few minutes.

Tonight had to be perfect, no hiccups, no issues. His future was relying on this going well. He'd honestly feel better if he didn't have to show up alone. His parents don't even care about his sexuality but his father demands he pretend he's single and straight to flirt with the investors' wives, make them happy. He wishes he didn't have to play a role until he takes over and can acknowledge his partner publicly.

Speaking of his partner....Rhys pauses his pacing when Tamlin walks into the kitchen. He's dressed in sweatpants and one of Rhys' t-shirts. He looks adorable and comfy, and Rhys just wants to go lay down on the couch and hold him while they watch movies. The kitchen light shines on his golden hair, making him look angelic. God, Rhys would never regret that he changed the lighting to something that accentuated his lovers beauty, no matter how much it cost. He does, however, regret every decision he's made that makes it impossible to show him off right now.

He can imagine Tamlin walking in on his arm in his best suit, the looks of jealousy at what he has that they can't. All eyes on them when they walk into the room.

Aaand, now he's thinking of the Gala again.

"Fuck" He remarks, pulling at his hair again as he started pacing. The sound of his shoes clicking on the floor was interrupted by the soft shuffle of Tamlins feet walking towards him.

"Rhys, you're stressing me out and I'm not even going to this thing. Come here" Tamlin said, grasping his wrist and pulling him over to thew kitchen table. He pulled out a chair "Sit. I'll fix your hair"

Sighing, Rhys sat on the chair, perhaps a bit too dramatically "Sorry, love. I just need this to go right. If I mess it up, my father won't trust me to take over. And you know that stubborn old coot would work forever just to spite me"

Tamlin shook his head, walking to the junk drawer to grab Rhys' extra hair gel he keeps there for 'running out the door', 'last minute meeting' or 'I just fucked my boyfriend on the kitchen island and my hair is messed up' emergencies. The man is obsessed with his hair. He puts a small dollop on his finger and tosses the bottle on the table, biting back a grin when he sees Rhys side eye the bottle like he couldn't believe Tamlin threw his expensive bottle of gel down like that. "Don't worry, you'll do great. Besides, there's no way your mother is letting him work any longer than he is supposed to. She has big plans to travel after he retires. And no one messes with mama Starborn"

Rhys hummed and stared up at his boyfriend as he rubbed the gel between his fingers. Reaching up, he ran his hands up Tamlins thighs and gripped his hips, pulling him closer to guide him on to his lap. "You're too far."

"Rhys.. I'm trying to fix your hair." Tamlin complained but let him pull him down so he was straddling him. He rolls his eyes at Rhys' cheeky 'I won' smile but reaches up to run his hands through his hair, distributing the gel before he starts shaping it.

A few minutes passed as Tamlin worked on Rhys' hair. The older man stared up at his boyfriend while he focused on his hair. His fingers flexed where they were holding on to his hips. The blondes bottom lip was pulled into his mouth as he concentrated. Rhys thought he was the most stunning person he's ever seen. "You're beautiful, babe."

"Shut up, Rhys." Tamlin said, but the soft tone of his voice and the blush on his face said he didn't actually mind. Rhys just smiled and closed his eyes as he enjoyed the feeling of fingers in his hair. Tamlin had a way with his hands that could make Rhys melt. He would do anything for him as long as he kept massaging his head like this.

Soon, Tamlins fingers left his head. He bit back a smile as Rhys let out a whine. "There. Good as new."

He went to get up, but Rhys wrapped his arms around his waist and pulled him closer into a hug, making him let out a small laugh as he wrapped his arms around his shoulders.

Rhys could hear Tamlins heartbeat from where his head was pressed up against his chest. He never wanted to be without him. "I'm going to marry you one day,"

Tamlin kissed the top of Rhys' head. "I know"

He tightened his arms around Tamlin for a moment before he pulled away to look up into those green eyes, hands landing back on his hips. "I love you more than anything"

"I love you too" Tamlin replied and leaned down to kiss him. Pulling back to murmer "More than anything" before kissing him again.

Rhys sighed when they pulled apart. He reached up and moved a piece of Tamlins hair behind his ear, twirling his finger around the ends. "I wish you could come with me"

Tamlin rests his forehead against rhys' "Me too. But you're going to be amazing. Trust me."

"I promise you, one day I'll be able to show the world how proud I am to be yours and I'm going to take you everywhere. Anywhere you want to go."

Smiling, Tamlin leaned in to kiss him again. He opened his mouth for Rhys when he felt his tongue on his lips, deepening the kiss.

They made out for a few minutes, hands lightly roaming over each others bodies. Tamlin moaned when Rhys slid his hands to cup his ass and squeezed. He pulled away, panting. "Rhys..." He whined but tilted his head back to give Rhys room to kiss up his neck."Stop, you have to go so -"

Rhys tilted his head back down and captured his lips in another deep kiss, cutting him off. He couldn't get enough of him. Even after 3 years of dating and 2 years of living together, he was still obsessed, and he knew Tamlin felt the same. And one day, he'd stick to his promise and show him off to the world.

But for now, they were content to make out in their kitchen. And if Rhys was almost late to the gala and then left early to get back to the love of his life, who could blame him?
