D&D Story Time!

(Hi @gotfancyhat I am the person in your comments you asked for her DnD class, so I am using that as an excuse to tell a table story, you know how it goes!)

So, in our last campaign, which has since ended, I played a Life Cleric called Faelynn. "Aha, a life cleric," you say, unimpressed, "the literal healer of healers. Party mom much?" To which I answer: "Yes! Very party mom! And it was glorious!"

Let me paint a picture: You are a agent of Xanathar. You are a tough motherfucker and you know it, there is very few ways to get more powerful than you are, you have literally been given power and magical artefacts by the future Lord and Destroyer of this world! Nothing can stand in your way!

... Or so you thought.

Because right now you are barely holding on, staring at a literal wardrobe sized beefcake of a barbarian, after he quadruple sliced you within an inch of your life in one go.

There's this literal hunk of armour speeding at you at mach 2, only for that woman to stop short, give the barbarian a little pat and a "good job!" healing the nice dent you managed to put into him back up to untouched triple digit HP before straight up zooming off again??

Their fucking twink of a bard that barely looks legal just cut down two of your fellow cultists, who were given similar power to yours, like they were nothing; and sure, he's now a useless drooling mess on the floor, but this cleric is already kneeling next to him, cradling him in her arms, rocking him back and forth, telling him that he did so great, while giving him some water??

Behind you their gods-damned rogue just summersaulted over your blocade like you didn't all try and have a swing at him, straight up dancing past to the bard's song, only to continue to walk through the literal most powerful magical barrier there is as if that whole thing is literally nothing and now has systematically disassembled your entire summoning ritual!!!

And you think: "These are the fuckers that have given our master so many issues?? These?!"

But hey, they haven't spotted your own rogue hiding in the shadows yet, and while you might not win this battle, your rogue will have no trouble taking out the drooling helpless twink, who would have thought the damn bard is that dangerous, but it doesn't matter, because they are just four people and you are many, and Xanathar will return!! There they go, taking the leap---

Only to be incinerated by a blast of Holy Fire from the Heavens Themselves while that motherfucking cleric woman isn't even getting up from the damn floor!!

And you realise that this woman could most likely just Wish you straight out of existance, probably wouldn't even need to bother with the spell and just nicely ask her deity for it given who you are and what you are trying to do, and the only thing stopping her is the fact that she seems to have some form of morals and self-preservation instincts, but fuck if you know what she'd do if any of these other fuckers bit the dust; and you look up at the beefcake barbarian huffing into your face and go: "just kill me now, I'm done here."

And as your soul leaves this world you watch as the beefcake throws the twink over his shoulder and the woman insists on healing the tiny papercut booboo the rogue managed to get slicing apart the tome with the summoning ritual and you go be at peace, because you're not paid enough to deal with that shit, world domination be damned.

Yes hello, time to introduce another obsession to my blog: butterflies!

These are so pretty, I wish I was any enough at ID-ing them--- I am so going to get back into cross stitching after my semester is finally done, I want to make more butterflies!

I keep forgetting that I'm staying in a jungle until I open my patio door and I feel the heat and I hear the birds that I don't usually hear and I see the palm trees and massive butterflies the size of my hand and the locals selling coconuts on the side of the road that's all muddy and wet after the massive rain storm last night and they're just going about their business because it's the rainy season and the rain doesn't care about the family that they need to feed at the end of the day and I realize. holy fuck, I'm staying in a jungle

As an update: I have two more very busy weeks ahead and then I want to spend at least another two weeks working some more on it, but I plan to start posting end of July / start of August!

I am at the stage where I want to set a title for my RadioApple slowburn WiP, and I need help deciding:

The nuances are so nice and I can't decide, I love them all--

In character pick would probably be Chains for Alastor and Binds for Lucifer.

(Bonds is Charlie's option.)

Chains is a bit more heavy handed going in direction of soul deals (which are a important part of the fic), while Binds is a bit more subtle, and Lucifer knows there are forces upon souls that are different from deals and yet have similar levels of influence...

Meanwhile Bonds is a bit more romantic in the soul-bond direction and in general implies all kinds of relationships to me.
