Spring: sheet 3 of 4. 11 in. X 14in. This project started in 2013. ( for details you can scroll through my feed to read about them) Finally is coming to completion this year. There are 55 design on this sheet. The designs are related to spring and some holidays associated with them. I tried to create designs that are not common and timeless. I am constantly pushing myself not to look at other people’s work. Instead i get inspiration from print, music or daily life. We promoted these designs for a Valentine’s Day sale at @annuitcoeptistattoo. They were very well received by the community. Sadly the device I used to take all the pictures of the tattoos got touch disease. Photos were lost. FUN FACT: all the designs at this scale in the studio are $75. Year round even though we promote a $100. Minimum. How? Why? Stencils are pre-made ready to go. No drawing, no printing involved. If i have to draw it for you it is $100. Period. We currently have over 500 designs to pick from. That number grows daily. “Channel Catfish” this is another painting I made for the state of Tennessee. People know me more for my small designs, But, my ideas also pour into large scale concepts. To full sleeves and body suits. Fishing is huge, some take it a step further with a technique called “noodling” some of you will see how i incorporated that into the painting. Another bit of humor i added a catfish nugget. Because they are so tasty. 2011: I started with these micro tattoos. If you scroll through my profile you can read about them. In 2012, I decided I was going to create seasonal sheets as a set of 4. Fall, winter, spring and summer. I would also include the holidays associated with those seasons. I put real effort to give people more bang for their buck. Focusing on tattoo collectors and reviving excitement in tattoo “special” sales. I was able to complete Fall/Halloween in 2012. Immediately I started on this sheet Winter/Christmas and lined it all out. That was as far as I got and I lost interest. In the fall of 2018, with my wife and I starting @annuitcoeptistattoo I rediscovered the sheet and my wife encouraged me to complete it. With her support and encouragement of owning our own studio. We were able to have a successful event for Christmas. I have reignited the creative burner with pride that all the designs are created by me and now with purpose. “Fearless” 11” x 17” watercolor board. The jaguar and ancient Mexican culture was considered the ruler of the underworld. It was the equivalent of the modern grim reaper. If you ever locked eyes with him you knew it had come for you. In writing It was used as a symbol of being fearless. The Olmec stones were discovered hundred of miles away from their origin and mystery still surrounds how they were moved from the mountains to the gulf coast. With the smallest one weighing 6 tons. August 2018, I’m cleaning out my existence from the studio I was working at in Madison, Wi. Preparing for my move to Nashville the next day. Between trips loading up my vehicle someone snatched my backpack out of the car. In it was a couple apple pencils, tons of expensive art supplies, a battery bank, my expired passport, a copy of my WI state ID, my digital camera and in the camera was a memory card with the works I have spent months trying to finish for people before my move. I didn’t know it was missing till then next day. I filed a report and started loading the truck. 1 month later I receive a call that my camera was found at a local pawn shop. Through the process, I was able to have it shipped back to me in TN. To our surprise the memory card was still in it! But all the photos were erased. Early this week my wife reunited me with the same back pack that had been stollen from me. ( in a different color this time). yesterday I was able to recover 98% of the photos that were erased. Little by little we are restoring the art supplies. I have felt very fortunate and grateful since we started @annuitcoeptistattoo i am also thankful for everyone that has followed my journey as an artist and for the people I have connected with here already. Word has gotten out about my work faster than expected. My wife has reminded me to post this PSA. For those wondering about my travel plans this year. I have clients and friends all over the country. 2019 I will be focusing on getting the studio @annuitcoeptistattoo off the ground. Middle Tennessee has been very great to us and receptive. We feel very fortunate and grateful. There is a lot of work ahead to get the studio where we want it to be and to a point where we can hire other artists. Sturgis, SD will be the only place I will be traveling to in August for the biker rally. I will be back better than ever. Hungrier than ever and eager to reconnect with everyone. National Bird Day, it was yesterday. To show my appreciation and love for Tennessee i painted this. “Catch me if you can” in my research i found that one of the state birds is the Bobwhite Quail and also that the state tree is the Poplar Tulip tree. Alright, well, 2019 brings many new things! This is called “seed of life” a painting i made based on idea that the pomegranate is the forbidden fruit. After a discovery my wife made in forgotten texts. There are many Easter eggs in this painting and i am promoting food for thought. I am studying the ancient Mexican codex, the best that i can. i am afraid that our culture will be lost even further due to the lack of interest.
