And when it's all said and done, you'll speak of your pain like an old acquaintance. Relating tales of how she almost broke you but in the end she's what made you.

ATTENTION: A young man, Danye Jones, was LYNCHED just a few days ago and no media - other than twitter - has covered his murder, possibly because police have decided to rule this out as a suicide, but we know better. The Jones family and Danye deserve better and they deserve justice. Please don’t let this go unnoticed. Please reblog and share this story with every media you can. Make them pay attention and listen to what we have to say. Don’t let them get away with this. Say his name!
Side Note: I won’t be sharing Danye’s body because it could be disturbing to some. But if you feel the need to see his body to grasp what they did to him, then you can find it very easily on Twitter or Google.

I’m letting go. What is meant for me will be mine in the right timing if I continue to do my part. What is truly mine will still be mine even when I stop grasping it too tight. My focus is to stay grounded despite external influences and factors that are out of my control.

‪Constantly analyze yourself. Figure out why certain things upset you. Question your own motives. Understand your behavior. This creates a pathway for change. Acknowledging why you do the things you do is the first step in shifting out of toxic patterns.‬

Whether it echos the sounds of war drums or the chirping of the birds, never ignore the rhythm of your heart beat.
Always stand guard at her doors, ready to fight for her sanity, ready to sacrifice your all.
For the sake of her survival, you must stand tall in the face of calamity, ready to dodge every bullet and arrow.
My darling, no one is on their way to come save you. You must be your own hero.

Eviction Notice
There are several suitcases filled with my emotions at the front door,
Emotions that have been forcefully evicted from my soul,
unable to reside on the tip of my tongue, always left unspoken, unheard of
as if they are buried deep down in the ocean,
Everytime they return to my soul, saddened by defeat, my soul patiently awaits with words from my God,
She confides in me, she reminds me “do not be sad, Allah is with us”
So my emotions return to their rightful home, they reside in the darkest chambers of my soul
Where there’s a fire that keeps them warm,
where courage sits with fear and tries to conquer the storm
Where happiness hugs my sadness in an attempt to erase it and for it to transform
Where the thorns of doubt and insecurities are plugged away by the hands of confidence,
On several occasions those hands bleed due the sharpness of the thorns, but they never give up, or give into defeat. They always return, always ready to succeed
And all the while some emotions are evicted from my soul, some emotions are new to me they are just being born
And some always return back home , with each of these stages the fire burns brighter than before.
And one day this chamber will no longer be the darkest part of my soul.
One day I will conquer it and I will rejoice ,
On that day there will no longer be an eviction notice, nor a suitcase at the front door filled with my emotions
On that day I will find my voice, ready to relate to the world the troubles along side the wonders of my soul.

It’s a beautiful thing, to recognise yourself in your words. When your tongue welcomes your emotions and translated them into words like flowing water.
It’s a beautiful thing, to recognise yourself in a crowd of people. Floating gracefully, no longer drowning in the crowd. No longer disappearing from sight, unrecognisable.
It’s a beautiful thing, to acknowledge oneself. To be in synch with your soul. In harmony.
Its a beautiful thing.

Let them be mad
at the space you claim to make room
for your living. Keep your glare armed.
Point it at whatever wants you dead.

10 ways to spend 10 minutes (without social media)
1. Make yourself a cup of coffee/tea
2. Colour
And say no to adult colouring books. They are boring af. Go get some children’s colouring books. They are super fun.
3. Pick out your clothes for the next day
4. Call up a friend/family member to check up on them/to catch up.
It doesn’t have to be an hour long thing. A quick call does the trick.
5. Go out for a quick walk
(remember, you’re a house plant with more complicated emotions).
When things seem too much, getting out can really work. It helps bring things back in perspective and gives you a much needed breather.
6. Read a chapter of a book
7. Journal
Whether it’s making random lists, writing what you’re grateful for or stream of consciousness writing. Just get it all out on paper.
8. Make a mug cake
9. Illustrate/doodle
10. Indulge in skin care - wash, moisturize, exfoliate your face - whatever it is that people do. I’m learning this one.
This post is inspired by Yukiko Sakamura’s Instagram post.

“What I would tell my teen self about mental health 1. Mental health will become a “trend” in a few years but nobody talks about it now. But you need to know it’s just a basic part of taking care of yourself. 2. Stop being a doormat/pushover thinking you’re being “kind” or “nice”. Listen, you can be at peace for a couple of years this way but at some point you are going to burn out and then become the opposite extreme. Don’t let that happen. Speak up. Be kind and be nice but first and foremost to your own self. 3. Love is whatever you let it be. Love can be jealous. Love can be possessive. Love can be abusive. Love can be whatever unacceptable shit you let yourself be subject to. People do unspeakable things on the name of love. Love has no definition. That’s dangerous. Whatever happened happened. But from now on know this, love is overrated. But freedom, joy and safety are not. 4. People say you’re the writer of the book of your life. Bull shit. There’s a lot we have no control over. We are not the writer of our life. However, we can be the editor. Whatever is handed to us, we can edit. That power is solely ours. Even if a chapter is so bad and painfully written, we can somehow salvage it so that it holds the book of our life together, so that we can get through it and still continue. 5. Their mental health is important. But so is yours. So you have the right to leave. It’s okay. It’s not selfish. But if you expect to get back in touch when you see them doing better, that is. Because then you leaving wasn’t for your mental health but because you simply didn’t care enough. 6. People apologize and do the same things over and over and over. They don’t need the benefit of the doubt after the 2nd time. Every other chance you give them is taking away a chance from you for living a better life. Don’t do that to yourself. 7. Don’t take everything you read/hear on face value. But don’t have your eyes on auto eye-roll either. Find that balance between ignoring and believing. 8. Just because you express and feel emotions more intensely than most others doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you or that you’re emotionally or mentally unstable. You’re just more capable of feeling, more aware of everything and more reactive to every word and sensation than those around you. It may seem like a drawback at first but it’s your strength, you’ll realize that in the long run.”
