I read this today and I know why. When you are ALONE, it’s because you chose to be. You made the conscious decision to go off by yourself either because you wanted to, or you needed to, but you CHOSE to be alone. Being LONELY, however, means that you are alone, but you didn’t choose to be. You don’t have anyone around and you feel the suffocating pain and depression of being truly ALONE. Because when you choose to be, you’re not truly alone, since there’s likely someone there for you if you choose to seek out company. But being lonely is not a choice. It is a trap. Because, when you are lonely, you feel it more, cuz there is nowhere to go, and no one to turn to. Because, when you are lonely, you are truly alone.

Peter Parker would have sided with cap in civil war. Hear me out:

When tony asks him Why he does it, peter says “I’ve had these powers for six months, when you can do the things that I can do, and you don’t, then when the bad stuff happens, it happens because of you.” Isn’t that essentially what Steve was saying? Even before Bucky was involved? Steve asks peter what tony told him and peter was only told, and I quote, “he told me that you’re wrong, but you think you’re right, and that makes you dangerous.” SO that goes to show that tony heard what peter said, and withheld information because he knew peter wouldn’t side with him. Now don’t get me wrong, I adore tony and I love his and Peters relationship so much, but this was just bugging me. I think both sides had some valid points. Steve was right, no matter what the safest hands were their own. And Wanda deserves to be free. But I also appreciate the fact that tony wanted to keep them together, he just went about it wrong.

Any headcanons about Merlin and Leon being bros? I feel as though there's very little that explores their relationship and the potential if there was a magic reveal there. I feel like Leon would be shook but then he'd help Merlin hide it and maybe teach him to incorporate it into sword fighting and Arthur's just there like??? Leon is??? My friend?? Right???????

I feel like even though we had limited scenes between Merlin and Leon they were all GOLDEN.

- Firstly, Leon was the very first knight Merlin ever liked (including Arthur). This is mainly because Leon is actually nice and doesn’t bully him.

- Meanwhile, Leon is hearing all about Merlin’s insolent ways and is just like “hmmmm...I will maintain a neutral expression while internally being pleased by this development.”

- Gwen was responsible for helping Merlin learn all his duties, but Leon also helped Merlin by taking the time to teach him all the formalities and pleasantries associated with nobles. It was the first real conversation they really had and they were both just so charmed by the other.

Merlin: so YOURE what a knight should be. I haven’t met a noble who didn’t have his head up his ass (: Leon: you can’t say that when you work for Arthur...but yes. I am. (:

- Okay, so Leon first sees Merlin using magic to save Arthur’s life and is immediately thrown into an angsty movie montage. Sad music plays in the background as Leon stares out the window. Uther’s voice echoes ‘magic is evil’ in his head while the scene of Merlin rescuing Arthur is on repeat. This is essentially Leon for awhile:

- Finally, after like... Three weeks of this he actually goes to talk to Merlin about the situation. Merlin is super stressed out but has given Leon his space and 100% thinks he’s gonna die.

Leon: ... Arthur can’t find out about this

Merlin: because it will put him in a position to choose between me and his father, I know-

Leon: no because YOU COULD DIE -

Merlin: ah. Right. That too.

- Gaius and Leon band together because Leon is super overwhelmed with everything, but he wants to make sure he’s well informed on what EXACTLY is going on. So Gaius explains the whole destiny nonsense, Merlin being born with magic, etc... and Leon just...internally dies inside because knows there is no going back and also he doesn’t know how he’s going to help this disaster of a human being stay safe under Uther’s rule.

- oh and...

Merlin: I know a dragon btw

Leon: no you fucking don’t

- Leon is just like “alright, I have this tiny sorcerer who wants to protect the prince... what can I do to make him successful?” and his answer is to make him a certified badass.

Leon: people are going to ask how you keep surviving stuff. Also, sometimes you’re going to be attacked in front of people and you can’t rely on someone else to defend you.

Merlin: ok

Leon: so I got knives, staffs, bow and arrows, crossbows, and swords. Which one do you want to learn first?

Merlin: ....how many do I have to-

Leon: WHICH ONE FIRST

- Leon learns Merlin is a dragonlord and immediately is just like “I want to fly on his back and go bird hunting”. Merlin keeps telling him no, but eventually Leon wears the bitch down. Leon surprisingly ends up LOVING dragon rides (much to Kilgharrah’s dismay) so they go pretty often.

- Also, Leon is very aware that Merlin is Arthur’s advisor despite the fact that Arthur does not know this. He tries to help Merlin learn more strategic/political ways of thinking to aid in this. He also takes him along to any diplomacy meetings he goes to so Merlin knows how they work.

- Merlin introduces Leon to druids and Leon really, really, REALLY vibes with them and ends up adopting a lot of druid customs. Merlin teases him and says he’s converted him. Leon is thrilled that he’s FINALLY found a group of people who aren’t causing drama 24/7.

- Leon also becomes the go-to man in terms of leading Uther away from the druids and helping to smuggle them out of Camelot. He’s earns the title “Knight of the Druids” among the magical community bc of this.

- Lancelot and Leon also become good friends over both knowing about Merlin’s magic. They take turns in joining him for his magical nonsense.

- Merlin does become pretty adept with weapons and starts pairing them with his magic to become even more deadly. Leon is very proud of him.

- Leon is also a mom friend™️. Merlin will sometimes grumble that he’s the travel version of Gaius because he’s always being a mother hen on when he should/shouldn’t use magic, not trying new spells in fights, making sure not to exhaust himself, maybe practice more with non-magical weapons, etc...

- Oh. Also, Leon starts sabotaging hunts bc as much as he loves hunting, he also knows Merlin’s magic is tied to nature and doesn’t want to upset him and his magic more than necessary.

- When Lancelot dies, Leon is Merlin’s crutch. The knights haven’t really noticed the close relationship between Leon and Merlin before, but it is VERY clear then because Merlin refuses to talk to anyone else.

- Then Mordred. So, because Leon is vibing so well with the druids he knows all about Mordred and the prophecy stuff. He surprisingly can go either way on the issue as long as Merlin commits to it. “Either kill him - I know you can too so don’t just half-heartedly try and give up - or look past this prophecy and befriend him. It’s up to you.”

- Merlin begrudgingly says he doesn’t want to kill him and Leon goes full no-bullshit right then and there. Merlin is super shook.

“Okay, so if you aren’t going to kill him then don’t be an ass about it and treat him as a respected knight of Arthur’s household. If you can’t do that then I’ll kill him myself so we can be done with the matter.”

- Mordred and Merlin become friends and both discuss how scared they are of an Angry Leon™️

- Eventually, Arthur finds out about the magic. Leon is again rather blunt about the whole thing and tells Arthur (very respectfully) that Merlin is Arthur’s friend and Leon is Arthur’s knight and he can either listen to their explanation or let them both leave.

- Merlin is taken aback because he always knew Leon would have his back, but he was a little shook Leon was risking his knighthood and banishment for him. Arthur must have had similar thoughts because he allows them both to explain.

Gaius: what’s wrong? Arthur seemed to take it all well

Leon, sighing deeply: he did...and now there’s two of them.

- And now that everything is out in the open... Leon’s favoritism is a little obvious.

Arthur: We grew up together. You were my first friend. My first knight. Why do you keep choosing to train with Merlin? :(

Leon: My lord, I will always honor and aid in your endeavors. My life and loyalty is utterly and entirely devoted to you. You need not worry where my priorities lie.

Arthur: ...but?

Leon: but Merlin lets me ride dragons.

- Speaking of dragons, Leon meets Aithusa and I 100% believe that he’s the type of person to talk to her in the same way some people talk to babies as if they are adults.

Leon: Aithusa, I just don’t know how to handle the tax situation. We don’t have enough funds for this project but should we really be taking the money from our people?

Aithusa: *rolls over*

Leon: I see... you bring such wise counsel, my lady.
