I love how during the Oldest Game, Dream starts out very aggresively, landing the first strike on Lucifer, but as he grows more desperate his transformations become less and less violent. Lucifer keeps attacking and destroying, and instead of fighting her on the same ground he finds ways not to counter her destruction, but to encompass it. Embrace it. Become bigger than it.

She destroys the world so he gives her a universe.#He doesn't hurt her back but it's not out of mercy #That's just his nature #He doesn't try to make her weaker he just makes himself stronger #He fights back with love and warmth and life and not because he doesn't want to hurt her but because when lucifer begins to #overwhelm him and he becomes desperate his instincts take over and the first things that come to his mind are these #fundementaly loving and nurturing concepts #I love him so much
