Basic Ritual Template || The Triune Path

Ritual casting is personal and practice-specific, but there are basic formats which many pagan rituals take. Specifically with opening a circle or ritual space, there are steps which most will take.

This template covers these possibilities in a basic script which can be adapted and altered as the individual practitioner chooses, and works for both group and solo rituals (just change out the pronouns and such).

A N T H E S P H O R I A    T R A D I T I O N S

Anthesphoria was a regional flower festival that may or may not have been connected to Persephone’s return from Haides as Kore. I embrace this festival in my personal practice as a celebration of the return of spring and hold it on the spring equinox. As one would expect I decorate my home and sacred spaces with a lot of flowers as well as include them in crafts, spell work, and recipes to live up to the name of “flower festival”. I include other seasonal practices such as a spring cleaning where I deep clean my apartment as much as I am able and take the opportunity to declutter and get rid of unnecessary items. Since I am cleaning I also take the time to cleanse my home and renew wards.

I start my spring cleaning, decluttering, decorating, and baking a few weeks before the festival itself to keep myself from being overwhelmed by the amount of things I tackle and to allow myself the opportunity to enjoy the many activities I like to do for this holiday. (Honestly it’s reminiscent of my Christmas/Boreiea celebrations in that it’s more like a multiple week long celebration instead of a day.) I make sure to finish any tasks I am in the middle of the day before Anthesphoria and the morning of I have a simple sunrise (or early morning) ritual that involves a formal welcome of Persephone’s return, cleansing of the home, and renewal of the house wards. I then have a nice brunch before dedicating some time to devotional writing or crafting, spell work, and/or divination.

I think that the good thing about myths are that the gods are often opposing each other and sometimes they are on the “wrong” side so you’re never alone, even if you make a decision you’re not proud of. Even if you are punished for your actions by society.

You get angry and you’re anxious about it? Imagine trapping your wife and her affair partner and then publicly humiliating them.

Imagine not being able to accept your child and casting them away.

Imagine manipulating someone to stay in a relationship with you or gaining someone’s love over false pretenses.

The Gods did these things- how could you be alone?

Tip for being angry btw: I like to offer my anger to Mars when it feels like it’s too much. I literally chant “I offer this anger to mars” and close my eyes and visualize the anger draining up to him

i worry i might be disappointing/upsetting the gods because i keep allowing myself to succumb to anger outbursts because someone’s been getting on my nerves lately. i really hope i can overcome it but it’s so hard when i can’t get away from this person

I’m a total Hermes kid and when I was a teen I was always saying yes to things even if they were unhealthy and running wild and that was part of my worship in a way. Like it’s just me and my own two feet let’s gooo

But now, I’m a little older and more jaded and I can spot a grift too quickly to really put myself out there in the way I used to. And if it’s not good for me, I’m not interested and just like every other girl in their 20s right now Im buying into the “protect your space” and the “clean girl” BS mentality.

And anyway I’m thinking about how Hermes is also a god of boundaries and so if you’re setting boundaries in your own life and not feeling as “cool girl” as you once were, maybe you can still see him reflected in you.

Let yourself be cringe in your worship!!!

The Gods don’t find you embarrassing. The Gods don’t care about seeming cool and professional for the approval of others.

Make that fucking aesthetic photo collage for Aphrodite with cute pics you found on Pinterest .

Dress up like Hermes and go for a damn walk.

Collect random stones you think are cool and put them on your altar.

Put that photo of that cartoon character that reminds you of your deity on your altar.

Make that Minecraft temple to Hekate, domesticate those damn Minecraft wolves for Cerberus.

Make your deities in the sims!

Write soppy melodramatic poetry for Dionysus that no one else will read.

Make self insert fanfics about your favourite Gods and write them all as your best friends. Let them interact with your edgy ocs.

Create an AU where you and your Gods are all characters from your favourite anime.

Record silly little songs for them

Make them paintings that are full of clashing colors and weird forms.

Draw them a fursona

Wear that bright yellow outfit for Apollon.

Put on a dramatic makeup look for Aphrodite.

Call your closest deity that silly little nickname you have for them and let them call you one too.

Share your special interests with your Gods. Design your God as a pokémon or a crystal gem, or a sonic character.

Those losers that try to make you feel bad for being passionate will never have what you have.
